Aside from the nonsensical and overdramatic secretaries and drivers subplot, this eps is solid. The explosive anger, intense hurt, and shocking betrayal has simmered down into a quieter conflict. It allowed Gal-hee and Min-ik to re-examine their feeling and look back to the whole revelation from a different perspective, which I really, really like. And I love how the eps focused more on Min-ik and Gal-hee’s relationships with their friends and families.

It’s good to see Min-ik and Dae-joo mend their friendship after their last confrontation. Besides, I miss their light banter and teasing.

Gal-hee’s brother is so sweet. The way he comfortingly patted her back while she cried her heart out just warmed my heart.

I certainly didn’t expect Veronica and Gal-hee’s friendship to deepen, but this eps proved me wrong. Turned out, they have much more in common than what seemed to be. And if not for Veronica, Gal-hee wouldn’t find out about her sister’s lies that put her in (what I think) a nice parallel to Min-ik’s situation.

I think the road to acceptance for both of our leads felt organic, genuine, and earned. The way Min-ik wavered after Gal-hee’s confession (Kim Young-kwang is so good!) and how he kept thinking about her despite himself just got me in the heart. Which is probably why I love the last scene so much. It felt monumental. Finally a new beginning for the two of them.

I also liked that this episode wasn’t just them wallowing in their despair, but that they focused on the other meaningful relationships in their lives.

And I love Veronica and Gal-hee’s friendship. They’re both so supportive of each other–it’s nice to see two female leads working as a team. Veronica handing Gal-hee her card and teaching her the rich people way of having an epiphany was great. 😄
