all this while i tend to keep myself away from Melodramas cause i cant handle the feeling of that emptiness in my heart seeing my beloved characters going through extreme hardships.
I usually stick to rom coms, sci fi, action thriller cause thats all i feel happy with. But 4 days n 2 dramas and i am changed. Now i get to know why Melos are as important as rom coms, cause you just flow with the story, you dont hv time to think abt ur own life, you are drowning in all the feelings emotions and tears 😭. And as you come out of the turmoil you are a different person who entered the journey.
I never ever cried this bad in last so many years (Love story in Harvard my first kdrama made me bawl like baby but nothing after that).
So i guess i am ready for some more Melo ride. asking for some suggestions if you have any good melo in mind (happy ending prefered still anything will work)
Lol befire opening the comments I was about to write JBL. That show is the definition of melo where it doesn’t get makjang anywhere. Also @kss the way you describe melo is i guess more in line with slice of life dramas for that I recommend a comparatively lighter in the genre but equally good Life.
@wapzy is it.. lol sorry i never knew ny definition of Melos were wrong all along but i agree with what you said about slice of life cause thats exactly what I love watching…. thanks for the correction.
do you have any suggestions inline with Slice of life dramas ? i’d be grateful for that
The shows that you have been watching are indeed melo, maybe the description made me realize you’d like slice of life too. Dear My Friends, My Ajusshi and Misaeng are my favorite but you should better start comparatively light. Life, Weight lifting Fairy Kim Bok joo, Prison Playbook also Reply 1988 aren’t as heart wrenching or “OMG it’s my life” type of shows so they easier to watch.
understood.
I hv already watched My Ajussi, Reply 1988 and both made me cry buckets ….
Kim Bok Joo… i dont think it comes under melo anyway. i just laughed and bit sad few moment but never cried.
Dear My Friend, Life and Prison Playbook.. i should try. thanks again.
Just between lovers
Just an ordinary love story (a 4 eps KBS drama special)
Nice guy
Can you hear my heart? (though this one is more of a family weekender)

I’m repeating myself but Just Between Lovers and Scent of Woman. SoW is an older one, but I cried several times.
