In great denial that #GoGoSquid has ended 😢

Gun, Squid, Xiao Bai, K&K Boys, Team Solo, Ya Ya, Xiao Ai. Will seriously meet you a lot. It was a fun ride. I love you all.

Indeed! I need a second season. It was a stress-free watch— if you don’t take the plot to heart.

I am yet to watch the last episode but were Ai Qing and Wu Bai dating since the start? Their arc was never really explained.

Not dating per se. But last couple of episodes hinted that it might not be just a one sided feelings for Xiao Bai after all. It’s weird and cute how they throw each other looks like that in the last episode. It happened twice

Yes I finally saw the episode and realized that they weren’t dating but might have shown interest in each other in some way. I do think Hu Yitian was somewhat wasted in this show. His appearances were even less than the rest K&K boys.

I honestly think that he was only guest appearance here more than a second lead. He had more solo shots where we were led to think those were filmed with the group but not really.

Okay I was right. In this article dated before Go Go Squid aired, he was billed as a guest star

Hu Y Tian is stated as a guest star, and Grandpa is stated as a special appearance/ cameo in the opening credits (but I guess no one would know that if you’ not Chinese and can’t read said opening credits 😅😅😅)

I agree. I thought when the drama was first announced and it was only going to be 20 some episodes long and only based on Stew Squid if they had planned a second drama starting Hu Yi Tian and focusing in the other 2 books in the series. Guess when the drama jumped to 41/44 episodes Hu Yi Tian might not have been available to expand his role. He is rarely in any of the group scenes other than as a head shot (I may rewatch in the future to see if they are just showing the same headshots). I think he was on site a lot less than implied by them just using these head shots.

Too bad the censorship did affect the last episodes, especially the ending.

    I didn’t get the last episode :
    – why did Nian Nian think the few minutes before an important competition were the right time to agree to get married / to ask him to get married?
    – I know some people are very analytical and take things literally. But why did he have to (1) ask her parents again for permission to get married, and (2) get their marriage license right away? Could it have waited another day? Could he have celebrated the championship with his kids first, get a good nap sleep, shower and get into a clean and fresh clothes?

The headphones were distracting (probably a PPL) in the ending scenes. I wanted to see the little cat one more time. I guess Nian Nian hasn’t found out her bracelet costs $$$, and I’m not sure Gun had repaid Xiao Bai. I wanted to see more of the Xiao Bai and Appledog relationship (but now understand why they couldn’t show it).

But I did enjoy the show for the fluff. Going to miss Gun, Nian Nian, and the whole K&K gang.

I’m just gonna assume that all these were done in the heat of the moment. It was the same thing that happened in the novel – she blurt out wanting to get married during the championship and Gun told her they’d register right after the game.

Why did he have to (1) ask her parents again for permission to get married,

I think it’s more of asking for their blessing than asking for permission.

And LOL nope, that money was a donation 😂 but Xiao Bai looks happy with the end result, so I guess that’s that.

Really a bummer with the censorship, and I guess to make up for the loss time, they needed to include a whole bunch of flashback so the last two episodes still fit the 45min show.
