I’ve been wanting this for ages! But now that its come to be, I’m going to miss them. Lots of love!

About time! I don’t even pay attention to kpop and can see how their schedule is denser than diamond.

I like it when Bighit takes it to the next level of protecting the members by simply letting ARMYS know.

It gives ARMYs motivation to give them exactly what they wanted. Sure, there will be exception, but majority of us will follow what they want and give them the space they need. It’s common sense to some, but providing an announcement always help.

I’m probably reading too much into it but I found the announcement interesting. It read like they were saying that they are not idols at this time and so not to hold them up to that ideal. Something about they will live as just 20 year olds and to give them privacy if you see them in the street?

That is exactly how it reads. It will be a while before they are together as a whole group again. Jin is army bound in a short while. They were one of the first groups I liked 5-6 yrs back but I am burned out. If I feel like that, I know they exhausted.

Actually they have a concert scheduled in October so will likely be back by then. 2 months off is good. BTS have been on a semi break for the past few weeks already – they’ve been posting pictures from museums, and been spotted shopping, eating at a restaurant etc by fans. Yesterday’s performance proved it – with BTS, the fatigue was showing in recent months, the lives were not as stable, but yesterday they were stable. 😊 It was very clearly entirely live, ask any ARMY what the studio album sounds like and what they sounded like yesterday, but they were completely stable. Even Jimin, with whom the fatigue has shown the most.

So this announcement is likely to be for fans – don’t bother them, let them rest – to lay to rest industry expectations since people are waiting for BTS’s next comeback. Inquiries re interviews, collabs etc – all settled in one go. The guys have been on break before but BTS has never been on hiatus. This is a brief hiatus.

With Jin’s upcoming enlistment next year it seems surprising that they would do this, but I’m glad. Because like I said, the fatigue was really showing.

As an army I may be biased, or I may be speaking with greater insight, I don’t know – but BTS giving up idol status *just yet* sounds unlikely. Though you never know.

Oops I meant less for fans, more to lay to rest industry expectations of them for a while.

I don’t think she meant giving it up just don’t expect idol like behavior during that time.

It would be great if they all went to the army together. For them and the their fans. If I was Jungkook I would go now and get it over with.

Ah! That would be great to see Beverly. ^^
As for the army together, let me just veto that. I know that’s what a lot of fans want but I prefer segregated promotions. I don’t prioritise the group over the individual artist – the army period is a great time for each member to build a solo career, after all, they can’t be BTS forever. And show different sides.

Ofc if they wish to go together like Highlight or Big Bang, then I won’t complain.

Yes. No need to comment on who they are hanging out with, what they are doing, or how they look type thing.
The podcast I listen too the hosts are always saying how Taemin and Exo just all need to go in and get it over with. I guess it took years for Super Junior to all complete their enlistments.

@bcampbell1662 I’ve seen you mention this podcast before, which one is it? I listen to Kpop Unmuted now and then, as well as Daebakcast – so I know it won’t be either of these. 🙂

@greenfields it is Ask Me About Kpop. I listen on Spotify. I have a lot of affection because I found them right as I got into kpop. And they helped introduce me to SHINee who, while I am not a true stan, I have great affection for.
So, they are two professional women, bfs, in their early 30s who love kpop. I do like that though they truly love it and their idols and respect it they also can be irreverent and a bit cynical. They can laugh at themselves too. Each ep has a theme, but it is looser in style than Unmuted.

It was probably too much to hope for.
I was just hoping for their sake it was like a, whatever you see them doing during this 8 weeks we dont want to hear your displeasure. They are off the clock, so we dont need to comment on it and you dont need to worry about it, lol.
