Min U-Won, ah. He broke my heart. I can now see all that pain he is holding inside. How cute was he in the flashback. How could his own father destroy this kids life. Arghhh. #rookiehistorian
I liked that there is no second lead love story with him.
I loved how he told Hae Ryung that he saw her emotions for Prince Dowon between the lines.
And am glad he will find a good friend in HR.
It’s only a question of time before he challenges his father and it’s going to be ugly.
And I have a feeling his partner in crime is going to be Female Historian Song. Those two, sadly, have horrible parents and will lean and learn from each other.
I’ve always thought Crown Prince was doing the right thing of keeping distance from the Crown Princess because obviously Dad got her there as a spy. I felt so bad for thinking that way after actually seeing the Crown Princess. Another victim of her father’s greed.
That scene was so well done that it didn’t feel like filler, but really an essential part of the story. I agree with @mayhem – when he breaks it’s going to be epic – and ugly. There is no redemption for his father the man who is his parent.

No different from modern day tales of parents using children as business “merchandise”. Abominable.
And given his past, it’s going to be very hard for him to be friendly, much less open his heart.

Just the warning he gave her when she went to see The Chancellor.

@larelle79 oh yes. So he kinda knows she is a spy. I bet he is keeping an eye on her. Or will use her to misinform his father in the future.

Would we really expect Father of The Year who groomed his daughter to marry into the royal family for the sole purpose of having the upper hand.

And possibly sent another woman to woo his daughter’s husband.
This guy is unbelievable.

It’s probably the right thing politically but I don’t think he’s considered the emotional cost to the Princess of his actions.

Yes. The colors, the lighting everything was done so well.
His acting was so on point.
I am so rooting for him.
That’s what I love about this show. I am rooting for each character for their own merits.
