This may sound cheesy, but I was suddenly reminded why I chose my university degree. It’s because of a Kdrama. Remember: War of the Son. It felt like such a huge impact for me at the time that I chose to take neuroscience as a major and psychology as a minor cuz maybe, just maybe, I could get into research about curing Alzheimer’s? It’s a crazy, distant dream. Two years into the course and I cannot emphasize enough how fascinating the human brain is. And it’s actually thanks to Seo Jin Woo (Yoo Seung Ho) that I discovered my interest in the field. I’m nowhere near as brilliant as he was, I have little faith in my own dedication and intelligence, but, where I am right now, I like it.

There was a documentary about pesticides, insecticides, herbicides and other chemicals and their influence on brain development, function and destructive effects on brain cells and probably one of the biggest element causing Alzheimer’s. By ignorant of science observation of some cases in family and people I can see that they have a point there. And just few days ago there was a program in radio about birds, how do the chemicals used for ages to treat grains for planting and all those chemicals used by agriculture is killing slowly so many of species that’s alarming. It’s poisoning little by little the body, affecting thyroid function and making them not able to reproduce themselves and not only that.

So happy for you that you could transform drama obsession to something useful 👏
