After finally watching GOBLIN “properly”, as in, in the rainy season, in the mood, relaxed, attentive, dedicated and daily, I’ve come to an important conclusion. Gong Yoo is the Korean Shah Rukh Khan.
Yup. Nobody can convince me otherwise.😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Ohhh I think I can think of a reason! Or multiple reasons.
Perhaps it’s their unusual, not-standard good looks that most people would not recognise at the 1st glance but EVERYBODY would recognise and fall head-over-heels after mere episodes?
And their effortless, natural gentlemanly-ness and natural, effortless commanding on-screen personality?
Piercing, yet at the same time so kind and so tender gaze?
Tallness?
*faints from the effects of re-imagining all the good qualities of the best middle-aged actors.
Hahahhahhah both of these made me laugh!
Despite my love for kdramas and many K-actors, I never found anyone equal to SRK. There might be better actors then him but no one matches that magnetic charisma he has!
I do have to agree though that Gong Yoo’s popularity and Ji-Sung’s acting prowess does match SRK’s!
Back when I was a teenager, before Kdrama, I was hooked on the Bollywood industry and the movies it offered. I remember talking to one of my very first internet friends who happened to be Indian and when I mentioned I was a huge Shah Rukh Khan fan, she told me he had the reputation of being an asshole. I remember being so disappointed because I found him to be such a mesmerizing actor. I didn’t even try to confirm. I just assumed she’d know better – she‘s Indian and lives in India.
Just remembered that I once worked with this lovely doctor whose name is Szarukan. He’s Hungarian. I asked him on my last day with him if he knew the famous actor Shah Rukh Khan and also thought their names sounded alike. He didn’t know him but he found it so fascinating that he had me show the nurses and some doctors the google page.
I don’t know who Shah Rukh Khan is but if he looks like Gong Yoo, I’m a fan! And I agree that if Gong Yoo was walking down the street and I saw him before I knew who he was or what he’s capable of, I probably wouldn’t take a second glance. Well, I might take a second glance because he’s tall, but otherwise, he’s just so normal to me. But then he does things with his acting that take him to another stratosphere. You’ve said it well.
GASP then let’s correct this immeadietely asap!😮
Shah Rukh Khan aka King Khan, is one of the most experienced, beloved and respected actors in Bollywood.
Yup, just like Gong Yoo, he doesn’t look like your average handsome Ajusshi at the 1st glance. When he starts acting……yeah..no words.
I’ve heard somewhere when he 1st went to auditions, the directors and people said he’s too “ugly” for the lead roles and offered him villain roles. SRK has accepted those roles without a complaint even when the actors who were offered those roles previously saying; “This role doesn’t go with my onscreen persona”.
So you can now see where Shah Rukh Khan is TODAY.
.
I recommend the movie “Khabi Kushi Khabhi Gham”.
Nothing can go wrong with that one, I assure you, for it’s a timeless family movie, and it’s not draggy and completely worth your time. Plus apart from SRK there are at least 5 more BEST ever Bollywood actors, so you get free intro to them too!😄

If you could think of a reason means you’ve already thought about this!
So I did a good job convincing you? LOL!

These two images are what sealed it for me.
That tired, but endlessly soft look!…
