In the books, WWX didn’t return in the same body. Is it otherwise in the adaptation? I understand why they’d use the same actor (coz XZ is LOVE). So are they working with a mask post ep 33?
Yup he looks the same as before. I’m listening to the audio drama version of the story and noticed that in this version he’s in the body of MoXuanYu which I really do not like and prefer how In the live action, he gets his own body back.
Yes, it is his same face. So if anyone knew him in the past they will know him now. Like when Jiang Cheng discovers it’s him. He of course had his suspicions but once WWX took off his mask he knew for sure it was him.
I think they did that because of the censors. Chinese censors forbid possessing a body which is essentially what he does in the novel. So they really skirt over exactly what happened and how he came back in the drama. I don’t think it had so much to do with wanting to keep the same actor, as they could do it where Xiao Zhan still plays him but when he looks in the mirror or something it shows the other person.

In the drama, WWX wears a mask until he’s found out… then the mask is off.

But he’s in the same body and everyone recognizes him by face?

Ya he mostly just wears it when he is around people who would know him as WWX. But then once everyone knows who he is it gets completely abandoned.

Oh, Chinese censorship seems pretty hardcore.

They really are 😣 And some seem pretty ridiculous.
