The Lies Within ep 1 verdict: It wasn’t a bad premiere. Worst things first, these police are dumb as hell and the female cop drives me up the wall.
I liked the episode more as it went on, and I think this might be the type of show that takes a few episodes to settle into its groove. The best parts were when Lee Min-ki and Lee Yoo-young were together, and I’m looking forward to more of that in the future.
I don’t foresee this being a great drama, but I think it has potential to be very enjoyable as long as I don’t expect it to be smart. We’ll see. It’s very early days and this could go either way. I’m looking forward to seeing Seo-hee starting her journey towards election and learning more about her character as a whole.
The good news is, the single female cop has ‘victim’ tattooed on her forehead so she shouldn’t be with us for long. I suspect we will be supposed to cry when she goes. I will throw a giant fricking parade.
I’m actually beginning to think that she won’t die and I’m just hoping for less focus on the cop team and more focus on LMK and LYY and her family (which I actually am interested in)
