I was really glad when Jooda clenched her fist after that scene with NJ’s Mom and SM. I like my self aware Candy to be different. I hope she stands up for herself now just like what Kyung is doing in the shadows.
And this smirk? Pure (evil) goodness. It’s still too early to say that she’s going to be bad (and I secretly hope she does) but her real character won’t be that good Candy we’ve seen earlier in this show. Well, unless you’ve already read her character description in MBC’s website then you know what’s about to happen.
I’m still not sure if JD likes Dohwa. She seems interested, yes, but we still don’t know if it’s out of pure love or something else. When JD was in the hospital and she tries to reach out to DH but she gets disappointed to see Dohwa’s bio, I felt that. If you look closely on DH’s bio it’s just the upper half of the sentence, kind of like a secret code. Why would JD read DH’s message the way she did if JD in the comic is unaware and tries to dodge the fact that DH likes her?
Well, I hope if it isn’t the genuine kind of love, she falls for him as she goes on with her awareness. She is finally self aware so she can finally appreciate what DH has been doing for her. SHE CAN FINALLY MAKE A CHOICE (in the Shadows. Just like Danoh).
This scene is definitely a baby step but I hope in the future she trashes NJ’s mom and SM (the way BK is trashing his Dad and stepmom) in the Shadows. That will be soooo fun.
I hope she does too! I want an evil Candy in Dramaland. She doesn’t turn evil in the OG webtoon (and she isn’t even aware) but this one would be a fun change.
She sees the clock turning counterclockwise and acts like it’s totally nothing. This is a very nice twist. I thought she’d gain self aware along the way, but if she’s been self aware all this time… longer than Dan Oh did….whoa.. daebak!
She is never gonna be with Dohwa. There is not enough money and power in his family for her to be interested.
She looks at the superficial and that play with paying back to money for Nam jo’s uniform was just that, a play. Noticed how Dohwa has never bought her anything that she will consider of substance. Milk and ice cream is not cutting it.
Someone made a great analyse here that Candy actually NEEDS someone who does things for her. The 17-year-old girl is paying for her grandma’s hospital fees and constantly gets bullied for the absence of superficiality/her background. Her being a gold digger somehow doesn’t necessarily make her a bad person. She probably likes Do Hwa tho.
I don’t know if she really likes Dohwa and if she is indeed turning out to be evil there are only 2 reasons why she is like that with DH 1) she likes the attention DH is giving her or 2) she genuinely sees him as a true friend since mostly spends his time in the shadows with her and he never treated her rudely like any other character did
The camera angle used for JD is the one being used when self aware characters are in a stage scene to show how their real character reacts to such scenes! This is mainly used when DH and DO react to their stage scenes.
