Xu Kai! What have you done to me! I stay away from period dramas; I have never seen a Chinese wuxia or xianxia drama before, but here I am now on Episode 11 of #TheLegends 🙈🙈🙈

Also, Bai Lu 😍 she keeps picking up these interesting roles. She’s moving up as one of my favourite actresses!

      I am trying not to ff! I really don’t understand what this drama is about but I enjoy Bai Lu as demoness who used to lead a pact, errr, sect but became powerless because Xu Kai’s character took ownership of that powerful sword. I’ll see how long I’ll last with this no-ff mindset for this drama because I’m really not interested with other sects…..

        I enjoyed the first half of this drama but sadly the 2nd half really dragged and don’t even get me started on the ending 😑

        But Bai Lu is one of my fav cdrama actresses. I’ve seen her in 4 things and she has done a great job in all her roles.

          I can’t even remember what was the turning point in the drama and at what point it became the 2nd half of it lol That’s how much of a blur this drama was overall, because I just wasn’t paying attention to anything that wasn’t about the OTP

          I love Bai Lu, she’s gives so much spunk and fun into her characters

          Oh no, that’s not good. I am in between watching this and rewatching Arsenal. When I’m bored watching other sects, I switch to rewatching cute scenes from Arsenal and I’m happy and alive again. 😅

          She is amazing, I can’t wait to see her other projects. Although I “may” have issues coming back to The World Owes Me a First Love, which I only saw the pilot episode before I saw Arsenal, and this is because of purely selfish reason that my shipper’s heart isn’t ready to see her without Xu Kai! 😆😆

          Speaking of shipping, MDL says Xu Kai will be working with Manting (Sorry Manting I’ll try to remember your real name!) in lots of future dramas! But they’re all period dramas, Ottoke 😭

        Yea, like, I get the overall feel of the lesson the story is trying to convey (evil isn’t always evil, good isn’t always good– things aren’t always black and white in this world), but something about the writing just didn’t translate well for me for this drama… It could be the writing of the original novel, or it could be that something went wrong during the transition and interpretation from novel-to-drama script… I say it’s the latter

          I just wished we saw her rise to power more rather than give us a summary of what went on prior to her fall. Like I wanted to see her match with that man she idolized. To her, he was everything. He was the reason why she wanted to see the world. And then their ideologies clashed which turned into animosity between them. I would have liked to see how she defeated him and how it must have felt. But nope, we never got to see any of that which was unfortunate.

          And it would have been nice as well to see her demise at a slower pace. Things were moving so fast and now it stalled on this invisible at daytime and visible at nighttime plot, which I don’t really enjoy much, ngl.

            Yea, I agree that the setup of the drama is actually super rushed without giving the viewers time to comprehend and digest all that happens

          I’m sure it was the drama writing. The original novel author helped with the screenplay but wrote it as a 28 episode drama. But then producers were like no no we want 40 episodes then we want 50 ep. So a bunch of filler was added. The ending ended up being a happy ending but the editing was so SO incredibly badly done that I would have preferred a traffic ending that was atleast well done.

            Thanks for sharing trinpie. I’m still in the early parts of the show, So I’m not seeing the frustrations yet, but that is very unfortunate. Extensions tend to hurt the storytelling of the show. That’s sad that the production team chose money over quality.

        I’m on ep 17 now and I’m really close to ff scenes they aren’t in. To stop me from ff, when things in The Legends get boring, I go back to Arsenal to get my Xiang Xiang and Yanzhen fix and I’m happy again ☺️. Then I go back to watching the boring scenes in The Legends.

          Hehe, I rewatched so much the cute scenes in both dramas, and I gotta say, I still don’t know everyone in The Legends cause I’d just forward other character’s scenes. 😅
          Like I seriously didnt care about the others. 😬

Glad I saw Arsenal, or I wouldn’t have discovered these beauties. I can’t get over them now….

        I’m a hopeless romantic too so when I heard they were doing this drama together again, I was definitely going to watch even if its not heavy on the romance. And so far, he’s so stinkin cute!!!❤❤
