what i like is.. after you are done with your very first exposure to this story in whichever format (novel/drama).. you realize author left hints all along..
In the novel and drama both, they make it a point to call it out during gusu days that he is smart..
WX mentions this twice or thrice that NHS is very intelligent..
and then you realize why author was being so in your face to make that a point.. LOVE it
this story is all about LOVE and breaking biases… step brothers but love truly, not even step siblings but an adopted child yet the three are lovely, elders have gone bonkers but young ones are so much more willing to judge others and situations on their own merits.. the one man who was ready to look beyond another’s birth and background and be the only one to respect him..

In latest video, she translated the letter that LWJ sent to WX when he invited WX to come to 1 month birthday of Jing Li.. and when the unfortunate incident happened of JL’s daddy being killed by WN
There are glimpses of his true intelligence sprinkled throughout. His insistent on “not knowing anything” is really suspicious to me while I was watching it for the first time. It also reminded me of what my mom used to tell me when I was little – to let people think you’re dumb rather than smart so you can outplay them. My mom is a bit paranoid sometimes haha.

I really like him and don’t see him as antagonist at all. BTW child actor playing WWX is looking like NHS to me.
