@outofthisworld and a few of us were just going on about our little Ah Yuan and Sizhui, and here is a new video collocating most of their scenes! Not yet subbed, but who cares! They look so good.

I started going back to compile stills of our little Ah Yuan, then this video came out. It still stopped short of some scenes that I thought were worth including though, so … maybe I still may grab that excuse to re-watch for the little man. Heh! 😋

I swear I am not going to rewatch this show now!

Gaaah…….look at Lan Zhan’s face at 7:35, the way he looks at WY.

how do you interpret that look

@alasecond Wei Ying was watching Wen Ning being befriended by Sizhui and looked a little concerned. I was thinking that Lan Zhan was looking at Wei Ying with that long searching stare, because he had a whole bunch of thoughts going through his mind. He was watching Wei Ying’s every reaction and considering what to do at the same time. He stopped WY from interrupting Wen Ning and Sizhui.

He realised that the time was drawing near when he’d have to tell WY who Sizhui was, and was concerned about how the news would affect WY. Seeing that WY was concerned about Sizhui chatting with Wen Ning, LZ was deciding when might be the right time to break the news and how.

Also at this point, WY was still weak after being the ‘bait’ and fighting off the zombies, and LZ was checking if WY would be strong enough for any shocks. It really had been a very long day. They had saved the kids, then had to save the kids’ parents LOL. They had had nothing to eat, had travelled a long distance, and knew that Jiang Cheng would not welcome them at journey’s end.

I felt it was a long, considering, searching and concerned look that LZ had as he stared at WY, deciding what to do, and when.

I adore Lan Zhan’s face at 8:28, he’s even jealous to his own son… His possessiveness is no joke

you know what the sad thing about this is..as someone mentioned

imagine when LZ brought yuan home, and at night that baby would wake up calling out Wei Wuxian , all feverish.. how must have LZ felt?

and atleast for those initial days.. i doubt if a-yuan would have gone to any other person.. or even tolerated a touch after the trauma

I see it as this: Even when those long and difficult nights came and hit hard, it was Lan Shan’s way of still having some sort of connection to Wei Ying by way of little Ah Yuan. I don’t think he would have seen any of the experiences he went through while caring for Ah Yuan as anything bad or difficult, because he did it all for Wei Ying’, whom he loves more than life, because he knew that Wei Ying loved (loves) little Ah Yuan as his own as well ☺️☺️☺️

lol.. i am not saying he would mind having a-yuan..
i am just saying that while you are grieving and there is someone else who probably needed WX just as badly as LZ wanted.. and then the continuous reminder of him gone

but, then maybe yuan’s presence lessened the pain.. because LZ had someone to take care of who could be taken care of only by him.. the only avenue of some happiness

He definitely didn’t mind having and caring for Ah Yuan 😉😉😉
If anything, I’d like to think that it it helped Lan Zhan take his mind off the bad memories (even though I’m sure ALL memories of Wei Ying are precious to Lan Zhan, regardless), and to have a purpose to carry on living, because Lan Zhan really couldn’t see a world where Wei Ying didn’t exist, and I was actually scared that Lan Zhan would follow Wei Ying down the cliff 😱😱😱😱🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

he wouldn’t have.. and he won’t kill himself.. none of that
LZ is too principled to not follow duties of his existence

            @alasecond
I dunno 🤔🤔🤔🤔 He’s broken quite a few rules for WWX, including the biggest one— fighting for him at Jinglingtai and trying to save him on the cliff— when the number 1 rule of Gusu Lan is to fight against evil— and by that big battle scene, it was determined by all the sects that WWX was “evil”— it’s why the battle happened in the first place

@bebeswtz ya but WX is not evil.. suicide or self abuse is wrong..universally, including in WX’s dictionary (even though he jumped off) 😛

WWX isn’t/wasn’t evil, but he was questioned for it by people, even LZ at one point
Suicide and abuse is definitely wrong and was heavily fought against–especially by WWX– but choosing suicide rather than to have LZ die with him on the cliff (especially with the added pressure that JC was also there and wasn’t thinking straight because he just lost his sister) was what he did….. For Lan Zhan, he went against his own beliefs for once and chose the lesser evil (choosing to die alone via suicide)– Lan Zhan didn’t understand this until WWX died and then LZ spend the next 16 years regretting that he didn’t stand by WWX’s side until the very last moment, which, I guess sort of worked out for the better because then LZ went back to the Burial Mounds and found Ah Yuan 🙂

and to that.. i suddenly have a very perverted thought

LZ putting Shizui in warren of rabbits..

you know!!!.. rabbits making out.. reproducing a baby 😛 ..
LZ is more progressive in this area than WX (poor WX was working with radishes)
