#MyCountry15
I no longer know what this drama is trying to do.

Uh oh. I tried to get as little spoiler as possible about this drama because I wanted to marathon it after it finishes airing. But from what I saw in the fan wall it seems like the story derailed quite a bit in the later eps.

Say, if my latest experience with historical drama is with Haechi, Nokdu Flower, and Jumong, will I be mightily disappointed by My Country?

      Yes.

        Ouch.
Dropping it from the to-watch list then. Thanks for saving fellow beanie from future suffering and rage. 😉

          Was Haechi any good?

It’s quite good. Not as spectacular as Nokdu Flower and so much more male-dominated, but I like that I can learn a bit about Korean history from it. And it’s nice to see the story of a forward-thinking king in that era, for once.

I enjoyed very much the gang of friends and the ML’s development. FL’s arc was an utter disappointment, she started great and at some moment decided to become a wallflower to stick by her man. All in all, the show is overall entertaining (I didn’t ff a single bit) and it felt like they more or less respected History

Heh. Maybe you can still keep it in your watch list, but move it to lower priority.

I didn’t watch Jumong, so I can’t say, but this is definitely NOT Nokdu Flower. Nowhere near. It’s more like Haechi with Jang Hyuk owning the show and a romance that I can’t get behind. The first 12 episodes, at least, were good.

That bad, he? I’ve been enjoying this show so much that I’ll stick with it to the bitter end. They can’t ruin it so much in only 2 more epds, can they?

I will also stick to the bitter end. Haven’t watched 16 yet. Hope they didn’t totally ruin it. Lets just say at the end of this one, I didn’t just rolled my eyes at HJ only, like I usually did.

Didn’t get there yet, but I was flabbergasted by the end of ep 14. What was that?

Same here. For me, itโ€™s SunHo. Iโ€™ve lost track of him starting from Episode 13. Iโ€™ve given up making sense of his character. It feels like he is creating conflict just for the sake of it. I will sit through the last two hours just to see what happens to him and Hwi.

Characters seem to be in a rut

It wouldโ€™ve been better if the two of them just sailed away together, minus swords, bows and arrows 🤣😂

They really shouldn’t invent these fictional characters, gave them noble purposes and then wrote them into something unrecognizable at the end.

*Sigh*Haven’t seen it yet but is it that bad?

Itโ€™s not that bad in a general context. I was still riveted with events leading to the 2nd Strife of Princes. It is just SunHo in particular who has lost footing for me. I canโ€™t make sense of his characterโ€™s motivation at this point in the drama.

😔 I wish their fall out didn’t start till later in the show.
Their friendship in the first episode is still my favorite. I just wish there were more on how they met and came to be close friends. I wanted more Sun-ho and Yeon too.

But they had to rush rush rush to cover historical events that should not have been the focus of the show.

I think more background on their friendship would have helped as they’ve been written as this star-crossed pair, but the build up wasn’t there for me to feel it.

I won’t spoil you, but this episode I lost Sun Ho too. Totally did.not.get.him. 🙄
