The Mandalorian delivers the Child to the Client and collects his bounty of 20 Bars of Beskar steel. Atypically for a bounty hunter following their code, the Mandalorian asks about the plans for the Child, but is told that it’s none of his concern and he leaves before conflict arises. Returning to the Mandalorian Covert enclave, the Mandalorian gets his damaged armor replaced and weapons upgraded by the Armorer, who forges a full cuirass from some of the Beskar reward, while the remainder goes to the Mandalorian “foundling” children for their future. Accepting a new job from Greef Carga, the Mandalorian prepares his ship to depart, but instead turns back to infiltrate the Client’s base of operations. Killing many Imperial Stormtroopers, he rescues the Child from a laboratory where it was being experimented on by Dr. Pershing, whom he lets live. On the way back to his ship, the Mandalorian is ambushed by the other bounty hunters and Greef Carga, demanding he hand over the Child. After he refuses, a firefight breaks out, leaving the Mandalorian heavily outnumbered and cornered. Unexpectedly, other Mandalorians arrive from the Covert enclave, attacking the bounty hunters and giving the Mandalorian opportunity to reach his ship with the Child and escape.
