I am not an EXO follower or anything but this whole mess makes me so angry – it reminds me of how Tablo was attacked by nietzens when he was getting married and Haru was born. It makes me so sad to think about them losing this precious and special time to being attacked. I sincerely hope Chen has a good support system and that he doesn’t let this affect his mental health too much.
You are right, the cycle has to stop. One of these performers should just flat out say, I am an adult and I date and have relationships that are private and are not owed to you.
It seems so odd to me. Almost as if public displays of emotion are discouraged so all the pent up emotion gets channeled through social media at anyone in the entertainment industry.
I think it is manipulation and they are not even trying to be subtle. We all grew up in a generation of boy bands and groups and there was a formula that worked. The upside for the groups is that not only do they grow up but so do their fans. So that baby faced singer that was the same age as you also is married and have a family, just like you.
This is not what seems to be going on. It is almost like they are catering to a part of the psyche that is not (teens) or will not fully form (adults who are in arrested development). It is not healthy for the fans or the entertainers themselves. Add in the requirement of interacting and being ‘on’ on social media along with a grinding schedule, no wonder these people think they are entitled to all of these performers.
You could not pay me all the money in the world to go back and be born in the year 2000.
They need to stop this obsession with celebrities, it is unhealthy to be so possessive. He shouldn’t have to apologise and his agency should be sticking up for him and saying he deserves to be happy and able to live his life. What are they doing! If that is how these fans feel, the agency should say screw you and start prosecuting over malicious comments.
I know but they have earned enough money, I’m sure that Chen will still earn a lot as a ballad singer for osts, exo can definitely still promote abroad.
It would be great if the big entertainment companies banded together to protect their artists and give them a chance at personal happiness and the right to live. I’m sure that if they all entered an agreement and actually withheld content in solidarity. These fans would have a change of heart.
