   I don’t know how doable this would be, but would you (or someone else) be able to send (as in through the mail) the series and the soundtrack? I’d, of course, cover any shipping costs…it’s just that, I’m in France for the whole year and I don’t have high-speed internet in my apartment (nor can I get it installed, since it’s school-supplied).

   I can’t download anything on the school computers because there are a bunch of restrictions on the machines. Anyway, if anyone is willing to take pity on me, I’d be MOST appreciative! I’ll send you chocolate or something from France too!

   Another drama to track down, I don’t think soulmate is in distribution now or if it is it might have some very bad subs. But since you’ve made me curious I have to have it.

   A few points here.
   1) The official Soulmate DVD is still available (YesAsia has stock as do various other on-line stores)
   BUT.
   a) It’s a “best of” compilation with only 10 half-hour episodes on 2 DVDs. Remember, that’s 10 out of 24, not 10 out of 12, because the series was broadcast in 12 back-to-back half-hour doubles.
   b) It follows the disastrous practice which all the Korean TV companies seem now to have made standard since earlier this year (I suspect as part of their ambitions to license DVD production to US companies) There are no subtitles AT ALL, not even Korean ones.

   2) The whole thing is easy to find on CBs, including open ones. Since I know some CBs are unhappy about such things being linked to from open lists, I suggest you look on the appropriate Soompi forum (where such CB links are shielded from one level of snooping by the need to have a forums membership ID). I just checked, and at least one of the open CBs listed there has the raws, though their names are slightly obfuscated in the listings.

   3) The fansubs (on d-addicts.com) have a substantial javabeans input, and indeed in the latter half she is the main translator. So no worries about the English….

This drama is my number 1 so far in terms of content and music selection. My korean is not quite fluent, nor can I understand very much of the complex words. Thank you for providing the music list!

    thanx to you, i finished Soulmate in 1 day! i know i’m freaking crazy. but it was soooooooo goood. what’s ironic is that i first started watching soulmate 2 months ago and became really annoyed with it because of yoojin. but after stumbling across your blog, i decided to give it another try today and absolutely fell in love. ahhhhh thank you javabeans! now soulmate is gonna be stuck in my head all day longgg. i absolutely adore the OST too – and i’m so glad you featured some of the songs here ^_______________^ mmkay i’m gonna go back and watch the part where DW sticks his earphone in SG’s ear again. awwwwwwwwwwwwww

    Thanks so much for the song list! Have also downloaded the torrents from d-addicts. It’s not available here as a download but just have to say that nothing beats the original “I’m Not In Love” by 10cc. (Fun Lovin’ Criminals does a cover version in ep. 2.) My best friend & I must have listened to it together a million times when it first came out. (It was her record.) Broke my heart every time… (Check out YouTube for a live version. Oh, gosh, just watched it and it has me all teary – maybe it’s just all that nostalgia kicking in!)

    I watched this drama because i saw your recommendation and i was totally hooked! Saw 6 eps straight and 2 days later i was done …wanting more but had to read the sad news that they weren’t making a season 2 .

    I do have a question: I heard a pianosong somewhere in the last half of soulmate but can’t seem to find it anymore. I really love the song, and i recognized the tune from a trance song (i know the trance song got the tune from the piano song :p). I think the trance song is called watergate – heart of asia. And from my recollection the piano song was played in the car.

    This drama is so cute. Its so simple but unique. I really like the whole meaning of the drama. Finding if soulmates really exist? AH! i cant wait till season 2 comes out!

    And the music is amazing! no dramas ever done this, where they have a different song for a different mood. This drama really makes you apreciate the music!

Was perusing through the list of the dramas you rated and saw that you gave it a perfect 10 which made me curious and went on to download this. Im so glad I did! The 3 days, 16 hours, 34 minutes it took me download this was soooo worth it!! and the OST is just to die for!! again, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

    - its just sad that it was so short. the ending for me was good. it gives strength to the notion of “soulmates”. Still would love to see Su gyeong and Dong Wuk actually get together. =D

    I really LOVED soul mate. it was PERFECT! it had the right everything. It kept you wanting for more. Lead characters were perfect for each other and it never got too boring or too sappy, it was really good. EXCEPT that girl who liked Dong Wook got on my nerves. She just could not except no as an answer. Do you know when the second Season Starts?

    Thanks for putting up the list!! I loved everything in this drama except when the two soulmates actually began to interact (fall in love). I thought it was great when the two soulmates were sarcastic towards one another or just stared at each other with the wonderful sound track in the background, but once the guy decided to declare his love I thought it was really cheesy. Maybe it was just the translation, and everything sounds a lot better in Korean. I’m glad that they went they’re seperate ways in the end. For me, that made everything a little bit more believable and like I wasn’t cheated. I almost wish there would be another season to this, but I’m guessing there’ll be no such luck. Thanks again for putting up a list of the OST, because I love these songs. I wish I could sing them all at norebang, but I only found one of the songs.

    thanks for sharing..!! i really love the music used in this drama…all the songs used actually were very instrumental in touching the audience’s feelings…really really love them i even searched for some artists in some record bars but unfortunately lasse lindh and laurel music were really hard to find, and i don’t think they’re available here in the Philippines…sheeshh..too bad..nevertheless i was really grateful you were able to share the list of the songs from the drama…thank so much.!!!!

    This drama is hands down the most intelligently scripted, well performed, and neatly put together pieces of television I have ever seen…and I have watched a lot of TV dramas in my day. It offers a very entertaining yet candid look at relationships and modern ideas about love.
    The music to this drama is perfectly, artfully crafted to fit every scene. I was very impressed with the amount of effort put into this aspect of the drama, and it definitely tugged at my heartstrings at just the right points in the story.
    I was also surprised at the wittiness of the script, along with a good healthy mix of literature references as well as intellectual concepts….if anything, the script alone would make me a fan of this drama.
    I encourage anyone to try this drama, especially newcomers to asian entertainment, it will exceed your expectations!

    I really really enjoyed this drama I think they used the appropriate music/songs at the right moments and showed the power of OSTs haha! Whenever they play C’mon Through, my heart goes all tingly, esp the scene when she was crying into the phone and he played the song for her and that earpiece scene. ♥

    I don’t have much knowledge about fate, destiny, whatever. But something hit me in the head that made me think of it. What made me, you ask? Well…it was a Korean series, which I happen to have watched just by accident. But, the moment it started, I instantly got addicted to it like I was some kind of a lunatic who cannot get over with it. You see, its title is “soul mate” and it already says how the story goes…

    First of all I think that…IT IS A SHAME THAT ONLY FEW PEOPLE KNOW THIS SERIES! HONESTLY, WHAT ON EARTH ARE THE PEOPLE WATCHING IN THEIR LIVES? THEY’RE MISSING SO MUCH OF A DEAL IF THEY DON’T WATCH THIS AND THAT’S FOR SURE!!! THAT’S HOW GOOD THIS IS!!!

    The casts of “soul-mate” are really well pictured and they have their own personalities, unique and very consistent. Aside from that, they’re all cute and adorable especially Dong-wook and So-kyeong!!!!!

    The story or the title might sound a bit of corny to those who are skeptical about destinies and all, but, this series handled this very very well, that you’ll even wish for yourself to have one! And besides, if you’re looking for something new and different from the typical handsome- snob-guy-meets-cheerful-cute-girl story, then this is for you! I mean, so far, the Korean series that I have watched are all interesting in the BEGINNING, then…as the time goes by, it becomes sooo boring I don’t almost want to finish it…(don’t be mad at me..but I’m sure you have seen something like this). But “soul mate” is the opposite. Because it gets a lot more interesting as it moves on!

    The plot is very good! And the way they put the scenes together are very artistic!!! And I love the way they actually placed.uhm..how to say this>>?? Urm…the use of flash backs are very awesome and I think this is one of the “soul mate’s” strengths Very nice indeed!!! And also, the story is very simple yet they managed to develop a plot that is so interesting. Aside from that…the script totally has blown me away! I mean, it is so good! Really! “There are no such perfect couple, but only imperfect man and imperfect woman who creates perfect love.” This is one of the quotable quotes there although this is not the exact thing because I kind of forgot it due to excitement…( I’ll watch it again…>__<)

    And…will a series be complete without its soundtracks?? Of course NOT!!! AND I’VE GOT TO SAY THAT THEIR TRACKS KILL!!! THEY’RE AWSOME…NOT THE KIND YOU HEAR JUST EVERYWHERE…AND THEY DIDN’T JUST PLACE THE MUSIC HERE AND THERE FOR THE SAKE OF HAVING MUSIC..BUT..THE SONGS REALLY FIT WELL TO THE EPISODES they were PLACED! THEY REALLY TOUGHT ABOUT IT SO MUCH I GUESS…because I love their music!

    That is why I really can’t understand why such a very high quality series to watch is underrated! I mean, the overall package is very good!! Why people why??? I feel so sorry for you because you’re missing so much!!!!

    “Soul Mate” is really now one of my top 3 faves of all time…and if you’re wondering why…you’ve got to check it out for yourself…it is so good!!!! I PROMISE!!!!!!!!!!

    P.S.
    Naturally some of the series I have watched have a very bad ending..like, they were running out of time so they just ended it like that…but here…I think the ending really justified the meaning of soulmate and destinies…and..this’ll give you good laughing and crying..

    Can’t get over with it..and I’m still thinking about it even though i already finish it!@!!!

    what’s the name of the song in ep03, when dong-wuk is trying to select a “modern swan lake” for the uncooperative ballet instructor? you know, the one she says is like “racing” and halfway through agrees to using. it’s definitely not “Jules Massenet – Meditation (Café Del Mar mix)”

    on a side note, the first song played for her (the one she says is like “flapping wings”) is “Johann Sebastian Bach / Air” also from cafe del mar.

    Hello all..!
    I finished watching the drama for the second time hours ago and have since been trying to find the song “Someone Like You” by Shawn Colvin but, sadly it is no where on the internet. I was so desperate that I was going to buy it but, I seriously can not find it anywhere. I’m going a little crazy here and I am pretty tired LOL.
    Does anyone have the song and is willing to share? I would be so grateful ^_^

    is it really the PD who makes the music selection? Isn’t there some music director who takes care of the OSTs?

    Anyhow, that person must have very eclectic taste. Wish there were more dramas with such superb music selection. Korean dramas tend to opt for over-the-top melodramatic ballads or over-cheesy pop songs

    Basically, when I first seen this Soulmate,
    I absolutely, fell in love with it.
    I couldn’t study at all! I had to finish watching this whole thing.
    And when I finish watching Soulmates, I was SOOO disappointed that I actually finished it in 2 days D:

    The song background is perfect, and it made me soo sad and lovey dovey at the same time. This drama makes me laugh and cry. Basically, I told all my friends to watch it in school, and they were like, Uhhhh.. Sure?

    I wish I could find my Soulmate also
    For the characters in this drama. All I could say is, wow.
    They can really act!

    If I ever see Soulmates out in DVD I’m going to have to buy it.

    Melinda–Soulmate is out on DVD. It’s about $60 US. I saw it at a music store in Koreatown (Los Angeles). It has English subs I think and I was planning on buying it myself. I am on the hunt for the OST but sadly, have not been successful. This was a great drama and I enjoyed it immensely, including the soundtrack.

    I really loved this drama and I enjoyed all of the characters except Hong Yu Jin.
    I think that this drama has the best soundtrack I have every heard.

    hey does anyone know if there is going too be a second show to this great TV drama SoulMate i just finish watching it so happy but so sad..Wish there had been another part too when they meet up again so sad when they could not see each other in the end..we could see them but they did not see the other!! I guess when its all said and done they were meant too be. Plus i enjoy listening too the songs that came with this show very moving indeed!!..

    I loved this drama.. unfotunately I didn’t like the girl he ended up with (his soulmate). I liked the girl he dated much better. Wish it had turned out with her instead. The other girl same so mainstream, the other girl had a unusual look to her.

    By far one of the best Korean dramas I’ve seen.

    Loved the theme song: Play our love’s theme.

     i think it would be wonderful if they still make the season two of soul mate. i really want to know the ending of the story. i’m so sad that the rating of this drama in korea is not that great. the story is really nice and touching. i’m just wandering why koreans don’t like it …
