Beanie level: Errand boy

I would love for them to stay Ji-Ho and Se-hee, but still <3

And I would like to note that she looks nothing like that scary woman in red.

From the stills it looks like they’re playing Mi-so’s parents in the past? I remember her saying her dad plays guitar in a band or something.

Would it not be creepy to receive a box of caramels in the middle of night in real life?
Well, it is caramels. But I would not find it cute.
#WWWSK08

6

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY! Not that caramels are creepy, but that he was waiting outside her apartment. What was he going to do if she didn’t suddenly wake up? Stay there all night? Leave the caramels outside her door? *I think leaving the caramels outside her door would have been really sweet*

    2
    1

Yes, that would be sweet. But knowing that he stayed there maybe a few hours and only let her know when she turned on the light? At least she knows he reeealy cares. But it’s borderline obsessive.

      3
      0

I thought him telling her something like ‘oh yeah, I can see the lights on now’ was way creepier!

    4

    tbh she’ll NEVER finish them

The bus scene in #WWWSK reminds me of Lee Jeon-suk´s drop in IHYV.
I liked that one better, overall less embarrassing.

Young-joon rated according to Hodcgkiss and Masterson\’s seven deadly sins of narcissism:
Shamelessness: confirmed
Magical thinking: not likely
Arogance: confirmed
Envy: not observed
Entitlement: sure

Wasn’t there Envy during the team sports event’s three-legged race?

Not in the sense it was defined: “Envy: A narcissist may secure a sense of superiority in the face of another person’s ability by using contempt to minimize the other person or their achievements.”

I love that he said that first, instead of giving his blazer to her right away. This scene was gold, both on the comedy and romance counts.

Good job, Park Seo-joon, for speaking so many languages.
Good English and German verified, Spanish sounded plausible.

Oh, he spoke Spanish in Youn´s kitchen so it must be good too.

German was also good and that sentence was short but not basic, the boy is really trying.

I laughed at his Mandarin because if they hadn’t told me it was Mandarin it really just sounds like vague warbling to me. And then felt bad because he was trying really hard. Seriously, Mandarin is so difficult for non-native speakers.

      Good to know, @purpleteapot, thanks.

Chinese (regardless of which dialect) is the most difficult language in the world to learn LOL
I’m so glad that it’s in my blood and that I naturally already have it down 😏😏😅😅

      2
      2

Same! I think it’s because it relies on the intonation to give meaning to the words, whereas in other languages if you get the intonation wrong, it sounds weird but as long as you get the pronunciation down people can figure out what you’re saying.

I once read a Tumblr post that said something like “Chinese is very unforgiving. In a moment your mum can become a horse” 😂

        3
        2

Intonations, we have 8 LOL The most in any given language in the world, depending on dialect and accent 😂😂😂😂😂👌🏻

          1
          0

To call someone’s mum a horse, oh dear 😨

          0
          0

The older I get, the more difficult new languages get (stating the obvious). Is the pronunciation very hard (sounds so) or is it grammar?

        0
        2

Pronunciation is pretty unforgiving (although, we do have more homonyms depending on dialect, so context and sentence composition is important). There isn’t much grammar in Chinese, but we do have over 5000 (?) characters in our language vocabulary, each composed of different strokes, ticks, lines, symbols….. Well, I guess THAT could be considered the ‘grammar ‘ part?? Lol

          1
          1

            A great substitution for grammar.
I can learn azbuka or hangul, I even liked paleography, but if character=word, that actually frightens me.

            1
            0

I think it’s the intonation+pronunciation and the vocabulary that’s the hardest to get for Mandarin Chinese. If you know hangeul, you can basically read everything in Korean, even if you don’t know what the word means; same goes for the alphabet in English. But in Chinese, if you don’t know a word, you can’t even figure it out phonetically.

Czech and american politics be damned and now I definitely will not watch football when gay men are being attacked in St. Petersburg.
Damn it, I need more time for dramas, how do I live through this.

I agree that politics are not always great, but why exactly should Czech politics be damned? I’m just curious, I’ve tried to search for it online, but nothing came up. 🙂

Basically our president makes us a joke. What kind of public figure burns big red boxers (revious protest and joke from artist group – installed them instead of presidential standard) publicly? Also calls journalists idiots routinely.
And our own oligarch and now prime minister, who missused european funds, will form his government with the help of communist party (a first from Velvet revolution).
I should not get too deep into this, I am too angry.

      1
      1

Oh, I haven’t realized you’re from the Czech Republic and was wondering why someone would be mad at Czech politics. Now it makes sense…
I happen to live in CR as well (hey there!), so I know what you’re talking about (even if I don’t follow politics much).
I am honestly not surprised anymore by our president’s antics and I’ve given up any hope of him being dignified. No comment on Babis.

I hope you’ll be able to watch some dramas to relieve your stress… Just don’t watch anything political. 😛 On the other hand, City Hunter might be fun, he’s destroying politics there… Or just watch a good rom-com. 🙂

        2

          Haha, you live here!
Well, who else cares about czech politics. I was just momentarily overwhelmed, not that I get that surprised anymore.
I might follow your suggestion once my korean lessons end next week. I tried City Hunter few year back and was not able to finish the last episode. But that was before I even liked LMH.

          0
          13

So true – who else would really care.
Oh, you’re studying Korean? That must be fun.
I watched City Hunter just because of LMH, but didn’t enjoy it that much because I was expecting more romance and less blood. And the last episode was a bit brutal, so I think I understand why you haven’t finished it.

            1
            0

Korean lessons are fun but it is quite hard and I don’t have as much time for it as I would like to.
Yes, too much blood and revenge for my taste at that time. But my taste has evolved since then.

            1
            0

Do you take the lessons at a language school or somewhere else? Just curious. I took a course for beginners at university, but it was only the basics.
I think I am able to enjoy action dramas and dramas with less romance much more now, so I should give City Hunter another chance.

@allphryne You should watch at least the first two episodes (first hour), it feels unreal to hear Czech in a K-drama. Even Seo Kang Joon is speaking it! Lucky lucky people who got to be there…

This spring is strange. There is still Golden Rain (Forsythia × intermedia) abloom alongside lilacs and apple trees. Don’t get me wrong, it’s beautiful. But weirdly fast. Pollen everywhere.

Same….we are experiencing five weeks of spring in one! No wonder the birds and bees are confused

I do declare…
…that I am ready to jump ships.
Though some finally see Min-ho´s appeal, I found the kindness and smiles of Dr. Ye tempting but there was too much facade for my taste. However

… seeing him nervous, regretting and getting jealous can force me to finally desert the Min-ho ship (I admit to be hanging on a lifebuoy by sheer force of will for a week now). While I do not trust adoration and idolization to be a good base for relationships, some awkwardness and jealousy can make Bo-yeong loose her fantasies and even make her angry. Him trying to win her (back) will be good for both of them.
Good luck, sir, I believe in you!

If your situation becomes desperate, do send a distress signal and the Rescue Squad will come. We can take you to the integrated healing centre on the Island of Neutrality, from where you may be transferred to the Ye Liner if you so prefer.

(As a neutral side note: my analysis of episode 11 preview concurs with your conclusions, but I have been duped by previews before, hence my islander status).
