Watched the first two episodes of The King and I can see me watching more of it. But it’s nothing, not even a minutia, of what Goblin was for me. But I love Kim Go Eun in this. That ponytail flick!

Same. It was ok but it’s nothing something I would miss sleep for. I love Kim Go Eun and how badass she is. 🙂

The initial reaction to COVID19 in Korea, the absolutely seamless coordination between their health departments and the federal government made me write on a physician only group that I was totally crushing on the Korean government. When really, in truth, I just crush on anything Korean. But I can only say that here.

March music, day 28… Today is my sister’s birthday. We couldn’t celebrate it together, but I sent her this gorgeous rendition of Ave Maria by Korean American, David Kim, concertmaster of the Philadelphia Symphony. Symphonies can’t perform right now in much of the world, but their musicians are still making beautiful music in solidarity.

David Kim | J.S. Bach/Gounod "Ave Maria"

From Concertmaster David Kim's living room to yours, enjoy this performance of JS Bach/Gounod's Ave Maria with a special guest star on the piano! 🎻🎹

Hi peeps! If you all are tired of reading about COVID19, I just uploaded all my Dramabeans writings (those published and unpublished) on my wordpress blog, Freethekimchi.com! And some music… #goblin https://youtu.be/D1MwdbTWd0g

COVID-19 has taken over my life. I’m still alive though. And here’s a song that got me through today…Day6, of course…

People be buying toilet paper, I’m here getting tea and snacks. And medicine. Don’t forget meds.

I’m stuck at home for the week. I’ve got plenty of toilet paper (and meds), but just wished I had more: crisps, snacks, ready meals and booze.

That white box is Ramen. I know what I like when I’m sick. Pretty sure everyone will eventually get this.

the obsession with toilet paper made me laugh, especially when my roommate hauled back a giant mountain of it from Costco.

I do need to head back to the store for more snacks, but mostly more dog food. She will not understand if her breakfast and dinner is not on time, but luckily won’t care if we run out of toilet paper.

I just bought dog food at the end of last month—had credit from the pet store about to expire. And it’s like some fancy kind because I just had to use the credit!

I went to a couple of stores today …. and there were no meds along with a couple of other hundred items.

My new favorite show! When the docs got together to play in their band, I was screaming!!! #hospitalplaylist #doctorsetlist

I just figured out why S. Koreans get admitted to the hospital for a bump on the head! They have hospital beds to spare!!! But seriously, S. Korea is the poster child for effective COVID-19 response! https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/03/13/coronavirus-numbers-we-really-should-be-worried-about/

    It’s pretty impressive.

All this just keeps getting scarier.

Not only that but they make it easy and convenient for anyone to get tested. People just drive through in their vehicles and get tested without getting out.

They are not short on test kits like some country who boast about how great they are but don’t have enough sup[plies to text those who needs to be tested.

Yep. However, Walmart says they’re going to do tests in their parking lots now! I’ll believe it when i see it.

March Music Day 11. So I did a thing once. Wrote a piece here on music and learned a song for that piece…http://www.dramabeans.com/2017/09/music-and-dramas-how-dramas-brought-me-back-to-my-first-love/

And because I’m behind on posting, here’s my Day 9 contribution. This song and this group I was introduced way before kdramas. But it’s perfect for all those loan shark/ gangster thugs that were just part of the “family business.” I think of Kwang-Il of My Ahjusshi. Poor misunderstood puppy.

Day 10 March music. What was my jam on the way to work today? This. I downloaded free from Starbucks when they used to give away free singles. Lots of great music I have from that time—-miss it. It’s all kinds of lovely crazy. Have you seen the video? Now you have…Vance Joy’s Riptide.

And don’t know what day it is, but I’m darting it’s Day 8 of Music March. Happy International Women’s Day!!! This song was introduced to me by my aunt, who was/is a huge ABBA fan. I love how strong these women are and speaking about a strong girl! I was at a benefit last evening and even in our middle age, we could dance and jive and have the time of our lives!

March Music Day6. I shared my favorite Highlight song, and today, I’ll share my favorite(s) of Day6. These guys have so much talent, it’s incredible. I’m a sucker of boys who play instruments. This band reminds me of my time in college when I went out with a drummer and he took me to raves and I heard local punk, rock, metal, and indie bands whom I never really had any appreciation for (besides for Nirvana who my Indonesian roommate was obsessed with—she had a huge poster of Kurt Cobain hanging above her loft bed and chain smoked). I also met groupies for the first time ever—his groupies—and thought they were crazy. Now, I get them. So that’s why I love Day6. It’s all about nostalgia, even though they were probably babies—at least toddlers—at the time. After seeing them live last fall, I’m now their groupie and cannot wait to see them again!

Remember Highlight, kids? For Day 4 of Music March, I thought I’d remind everyone that Yoon Doo Joon is scheduled to de-enlist in APRIL!!! So many of my fellow Lights are not too active on DB lately, so I’ll tag them too, okay? @delphy010, @wakimary, @natzillagorilla, @babybeast, @suriyana-shah, @cabanaalbana. This remains my favorite Beast/Highlight song, a duet between Dong woon and Doo Joon, “When the door closes.”

Before saying your last farewell to me
Stop for a moment and smile at me
Stay for a bit, you who gave me light
Even if it’s the end I don’t want to show you my tears

(While smiling for you) I say thank you for making these happy memories
(Shining with an awkward smile) I send you off like this but

When this door closes, when your figure disappears
I’ll spend the day in tears because of the memories I shared with you
I’ll hope that you’ll be happier
When I let go of this hand now
There won’t be a reason for me to smile but when
I see you smile in another person’s embrace, I’ll smile

When destiny leads you and that person to the end of your relationship
Know that I’ll be waiting
Even if you think about that person
I’ll try to promise you that I’ll make you smile more than you smiled with that person but

(If you show me your tears) And say that it was hard by that person’s side because only a farewell remained
(Blankly holding your hand) I’ll hold you like this but

When this door closes, when your figure disappears
I’ll spend the day in tears because of the memories I shared with you
I’ll hope that you’ll be happier
When I let go of this hand now
There won’t be a reason for me to smile but when
I see you smile in another person’s embrace, I’ll smile

My heart has weakened, before I can be with you again

When the door closes

Day 3 of March Music and I guess I have to find a way to include this Monogram song in every playlist I have, because I just love it. It is my first OST that I’ve sourced for this month. And you can just imagine me singing this at the top of my lungs in my car…very poorly. LOL! From “While you were sleeping,” Monogram’s “Lucid Dream.”

@isthatacorner’s crush reminding me of a summer crush I had and a piece of music that always reminds me of him…He was, and still is, a professional pianist and this was his favorite piece when I knew him. Actually, he was obsessed with this. Bach’s Goldberg Variations by Glenn Gould. I’ll forgive you if you ff this. It is 40 minutes long.
