I watched Running Man, and the subs called vegemite a type of jam!! Is this a loose interpretation or a literal translation? Because I would love to feed some to the person who described it as jam 😈 Actually, for that matter I would love to see the members try it and see their facial expresions 😆

Sooo…..its not then? I remember Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen did one of their movies in Australia and thats pretty much how they described it. And they said it was gross. Is that not true as well? I knew I shouldn’t trust an Olsen twin…

It’s a spread, but where jam is sweet and fruity, vegemite is very salty and has a very strong and distinct taste.
I love it, but most people who didn’t grow up eating it don’t like it.

I kinda don’t trust the subs completely! I had heard things about vegemite and knew that “jam” just doesn’t cover it! 😛

I just googled now and it says “a type of savoury spread”- so maybe the Korean word for spread and jam is similar?

I’ve tried vegemite during my trip to Sydney, and oh my my the taste… let’s just say it literally left a bad taste on my mouth. I was eating it with my aussie friends, they said I have to tried it since this is an aussie thing, and my reaction was pretty transparent, so I ended up apologizing to them for not liking their culture, and they pretty much laughed, they expected me not to like it🤣
