Beanie level: Water maid

It’s the holiday season, and you know what that means! Time to rewatch White Christmas to get into the festive spirit. (Because this drama is festive. So festive.)

    *sings* I’m dreaming of a bloody Christmas~

I remember naively thinking it was a festive short drama series when I first watched it. Oh boy was I in for a surprise.

That’s so funny! I had been warned in advance the first time I saw it, but I can see how with the title that’d be an easy mistake to make

I remember watching this around Christmas season as well XD It was surely one heck of a merry ride for everyone in the drama. I enjoyed every minute of it though.

Alright Beanies, I need your help. With so many new dramas lately and so little space in my schedule, which ones should I be watching? I know it’s ultimately a matter of preference, but I’m curious to hear your opinions on the currently-airing dramas

Favorite is Because This Life is Our First: down-to-earth with a little spice.
I only watched one other which was The Package. It’s entertaining but not as grabbing.

Because This Life so far is my favorite of the recently aired. Breezy and funny with just that right tone of serious.

For a more wacky type of rom com, Revolutionary Love seems to fit that bill. Siwan is so fun!

Go Back Spouses has potential. I get the same vibes as Second Time Twenty Years Old. It’s touching and funny. I cried in the first episode.

While You Were Sleeping. Gets better as the mystery surrounding her power becomes more intriguing. Enjoying that aspect very much.

Temperature of Love is contemplative romance. The soundtrack is amazing and the acting phenomenal.

The Package is a surprise!! I loved it! And who can resist Paris?? Easy watch.

I haven’t tried other dramas yet, but I’m really enjoying the stories behind While You Were Sleeping(which besides being beautiful it has an interesting premise), Because This Is Our First Life(I really like smart, deadpan characters because they are funny and cohabitation hijinks), and Revolutionary Love(which I find laugh out loud funny). Like you said everything lies in preference, but I hope you find something good to watch soon:) Happy drama watching!

I’ve watched 20th Century and I really how breezy and uncomplicated it is. So far. The characters are likeable. Kim Jisuk is quite handsome.

If you want a more splashy romcom, Revolutionary Love can be it. Siwon is very entertaining in it.

I’m in favour of “Because This Life is Our First”, “Buamdong Revenge Club” and “Witch’s Court” – in a that order, though with a miniscule difference between them. ^^
There’s a pattern here – the female leads are all very different people, but all are strong and worth getting to know.

Because This Life is Our First is my current favorite. It’s funny yet also gut-wrenchingly relatable with so many winning characters. Their reaction is always surprising in a good way.

The other drama I watch is 20th Century Boy And Girl. It has slower pace but full of likable characters and interesting relationships. It’s breezy and uncomplicated, with lovely reunited-teenage-lovers premise.

Ever since Rescue Me, whenever I feel bad about myself I say “Seok Dong-chul, hold your head up” because if Dong-chul can survive years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit then I can deal with being the worst skater in my class for a semester

I remember that cho seung woo also sing in God’s gift and he is really good.

He is a musical actor, a good one.

I love how he is taking joy in the little things now. He is even listening to the music, something he rarely does, when he is en route to his new workplace. He has come a long way since then.

His character development throughout the show was so fantastic

It is, isn’t it? I love how the writer develops him throughout the entire show.

RIP me, cause of death: too many drama plot twists

I have been waiting this entire show for Shi-mok to go all Bad Cop and yell at someone in banmal during an interrogation

I must be crazy? I actually think he is quite sexy when he shouts once in a while. But only once in a while when he can’t control his emotions.

    3
    1

If you’re crazy, then I am too, because I feel the same. It’d be different if he shouted all the time for no reason—then he’d be a jerk—but because he shows his emotions so rarely, it always makes my heart flutter when he actually does

I\’m like 10 minutes into FoS ep 15– Shi-mok\’s interview with Section Chief Yoon
man oh man, this show does not pull its punches

Me: I want to be caught up for the endings of FoS and 7DQ so I can discuss them before the hype dies down
Also Me: …but if I never finish them, that means they never have to end

I tried to catch up on 7DQ before it ends so that I’d actually watch it rather I liked the ending or not (I hate sad endings but the pain looked worth it), but didn’t make it. I’m 10 episodes behind still 🙁

I’m 5 episodes behind, not including the ones that’ll be released this week. I had to take a break from all that emotional turmoil

This scene in Reunited Worlds is giving me flashbacks to the last noona romance I watched:

Ikr! And the drama’s almost ending. They might never consummate. 😢

I thought they did in the last week episode? With the whole ring scene.

      3
      1

Did they? I was just crying in that scene. Almost every they’re together honestly. 😢

        1
        2

I assume they did, haha. It’s more like a symbolic scene with the whole confession scene and CG waking up in the middle of night feeling happy and found the ring. KBS can’t show the whole thing since they’re bounded with PG15 rule, right? So yeah haha

          2
          1

I don’t expect them to do anything more than kiss on-screen, really. That confession and ring scene – they were playful and smiling buuuuut.. 😢 It just breaks my heart whenever they’re together. More so, if not. Anyway if they did, good. 😃

            1
            0

They did. You can be happy in that regard at least. 😉

Episode 13 of Forest of Secrets has reduced me to yelling at my screen while my brother makes concerned faces at me. Eun-sooooooo!

I\’m so impressed by how similar the child and adult actors are for Yeok in Seven Day Queen that I\’m convinced Yeon Woo-jin is just a grown-up Baek Sung-hwan from an alternate universe

9
10

I seriously forget that they’re not the same person when I’m watching.

    3
    1

Their expressions and mannerisms are so similar! They had to have worked together to achieve such synchronicity

      4
      0

I was just thinking this yesterday!! I only just finished episode 4, and when our older actors first came on screen near the end, I was like, “Woah!!!” because the similarities were so vivid!!!

    2
    1

I did the same thing! It’s uncanny how alike they are–the two Yeoks are definitely the best child/adult character duo I’ve seen on any show in a while

      1
      0

Even Park Min Young and Park Si Eun look a bit alike. 🙂 And I like how they both do the Saturi accent.

I can’t wait for Baek Seung Hwan to grow up and get more roles. He’s really cute. 😀

    2
    1

He is! And I thought he played the part very well

      2
      1

I still watch their childhood scenes, especially their “date” in that field of flowers. That episode was just too pretty.

        2
        1

I like to watch those scenes to take a break from all the angst and impending doom that comes later on (even if the childhood part of the story isn’t free from its own fair share of angst)

          2
          0

I’m still amazed by this until now. I’d keep on saying they’re the same person whenever I watch SDQ

In a couple of the promo pics I actually did mistake one of them for the other
