    Never in my life would I compare NGM to Clarke Gable but all these GWTW buzzes since the airing of My Dearest might break my norm of not watching Sageuk to start it (perhaps during its hiatus to prepare for the next instalment). My last sageuk was Mr Queen but it’s not one strictly speaking.

    I love GWTW – not when I was young but as I matured then I appreciated the movie and Scarlet although Rhett is a fav character from day one.

      I love GWTW too. The parallels between the four leads story and My Dearest is so strong. The writer should’ve just outright said that GWTW is her inspiration for the drama and be done with it.

I really wish Netflix could do better on subtitling their kdramas.
For example, My Liberation Notes..

    Oh! I haven’t seen this week’s episode yet but @beantown you got me thinking.
    O/T. The last ten minutes of episode 8 of NAVILLERA is some of the best kdrama television I have seen this year. NAVILLERA is my favorites of the year.
    Big D&G fan here. Looking forward to episode 11 tonight.

      The ending scene of ep8 of Navillera will go down the memory lane as one of the best Kdrama moments for me.

      I agree with you about the ending scene of episode #8, but I always see it as a companion piece or bookend with the gorgeous ending in episode #12. The night, the snow, the distant recollection- so very moving.

        Definitely. Also bookends with the last five minutes of episode 10 when Deok-chul gets out of the car and dances for Chae-rok across the tracks.
        (All those scenes were wonderful. Along with the direction, acting and music, the editing was superb. Fond memories already and it is only 6-7 months since NAVILLERA aired.)

    Back to D&G, the ending scene in Ep 11 and the son-and-father scene in Ep 12 are both so very good. Both said a lot about the notion of a family.

    Actually Moon Tae being attracted to the writer despite all the siren blaring and red flags can easily be explained by that. Otherwise, a nurse specializing in mental health care should steer clear.

        He said that he came to find her because she reminds her of the girl he liked long time ago….he is kind undoubtedly….I don’t think he has savior complex though and Sang Tae is his legal responsibilty…it was a nice parallel…because Moon Young cut ties to her responsibility, it looks to me her father suffered from mental illness and he is desperately is clinging on to his
