The Psychometric Guy Ep 1-2:-

I was surprised. So, a little backstory. I am very low on dramas to watch. I don’t want to rewatch anything. The only shows I followed from the last crop were Romance Is A Bonus Book (because, LJS *sniff*) & The Light In Your Eyes (ASDFGHJKL). And I was not at all interested in the new crop of dramas, with the only exception of Kill It. So it’s safe to say that when I started this show, I was 99.9% ready to drop it at first notice. Heck, the only reason I gave this a chance was because I had been cribbing about needing to watch something for DAYS, & thought that I should at least give some new ones a try, just to ease my conscience. Plus, I had also seen other beanies say how it was weird or boring.

But then I pressed play, and suddenly I was at the end of ep 2. It had been….FUN! I do get why beanies found it weird. It has been structured & treated in a way that is not the norm in kdramas. That’s because it has been made in a way that I can only describe, in short, as a teenage hollywood superhero film, done well of course. Think, Spider-man: Homecoming. And I have no problem with that. It was such a fun, light, zippy watch. I think not having checked out any of the promo materials also helped me in immediately being able to adapt to a different lens. From this perspective, everything gels well. The actor who plays the ML is doing great. The ML himself is so much fun to watch, & a refreshing character in kdramas, where the MLs always start off being too much of something – too broken, too nice, too devil-may-care, too mean, etc., you get the point. The FL hasn’t turned into a pot plant yet. I also wonder if, going forward, the ML will not only try to solve the big crimes, but also team up with the FL to solve school mysteries! They could make a detective club! À la japanese mangas/animes! It will be so much fun!

So yes, clearly I enjoyed it. Time to add a new show to my MDL! YAY!!! I wonder if this a sign for me to be more optimistic about the other shows, & to give them a chance. Now that my Mon-Tue & Sat-Sun are sorted out, maybe Possessed for Wed-Thurs? But man….I haven’t had a great track record with ghost dramas. Plus, its OCN, & I don’t want another gritty drama, what with Kill It being on my list as well. Any suggestions, beanies?

P.S. I hope the brother doesn’t turn out to be someone completely different later. It would break poor An’s heart.

I’m glad you enjoyed it! It reminded me of Spiderman too!

same here. I had nothing to watch and picked up this show and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked/enjoyed it. I like all the characters so far and there is enough mystery to keep us going.

I gave it a try for the same reason and had the same reaction.
