I am up to date on this show!! I can’t believe.
Oh man, the fish cult is growing strong.
Fish murder and fish funeral, With dramatic OST (I love the music by the way) – too much??

I heard there is a fish funeral my god!!! Hahaha

Okay so tell me what’s the deal with her dad and her brothers? Why is she the ‘sole’ heir and not her big brothers? Is her grandpa actually her mother’s father? I don’t understand it. Clearly when she was born she already had older step brothers and a stepmom then why is she considered the ‘sole’ heir??

I didn’t get that part either. Her mother looked like the first wife or rightful heir. But how she had a daughter after second wives son beats me?!!!
Guess father was still sleeping with first wife after sending her away??
Grandfather did not think the sons were capable enough to run a business and saw potential in our heroine. So he gave his shares to her.
Grandpa is all for woman leadership.

How can you see potential in a 15 year old school girl? Makes no sense to me. And why is dad such an asshole? Goodness. I love it!

Also confused by the sibling relationships. I get that she’s half-siblings with the brothers but the birth order is confusing.

All the children, including the youngest one, have the same last name as their biological father: Mo.

The grandfather is Mo Wang Pyo and the father is Mo Chul Hee.

My theory at this point is this:

        1) Dad Mo Chul Hee had a relationship with Ha Young Seo. She gave birth to two sons, Mo Wan Soo (the flirty film director) and Mo Wan Joon (the second son being groomed for CEO). Perhaps Grandfather never approved of the relationship?

        2) Dad legally marries Ahn Jae Rim, who gives birth to our FL, Mo Seok Hee. This daughter is the only legitimate child and her paternal grandfather’s favorite.

        3) Dad dumps his legal wife and goes back to his mistress. Mom is murdered, pop-pop’s in a coma and the daughter is sent away.

        4) Dad legally marries his mistress and formally adopts his out-of-wedlock sons.

        5) While daughter is away in the States, Dad impregnates actress (name?), which produces Mo Seo Jin. Somehow the news didn’t get back to Seok Hee and she’s surprised to discover she has third half-brother from yet another mother.

Or maybe Dad was legally married to the horrible Ha Young Seo, had the two boys and then divorced her to marry Seok Hee’s mother only to divorce her and go back to his first woman.

It’s red-dress-at-a-fish-funeral makjang-y goodness any way you look at it!

Your first theory makes the most sense. But aren’t sons more preferred in korea? So if the mistress had the sons Gramps still wants the daughter in law because her mother was what he chose for his son? I got really confused when she said in ep 1 ‘but don’t I have the most right to live in this house?’. This makjangness really needs to be explained hehe.
