Beanie level: Wrongly accused fugitive

[SPOILER] Been going through comments on naver and these people know exactly what I feel. Omg. Hanyang-ah, waeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i cant forget one of the comment too:

(20,0) this is the reality…the audience will a family, a boyfriend who believes in the fact that he is so determined,in reality…

    pain x10000000!

    1

I just can’t. I go through a roller coaster of emotions while reading comments. I wish I could translate all of them but I’m too lazy for that. Too bad there’s no recaps here on DB. This would be a great topic to discuss. Should a drama stick with reality or adjust the script to satisfy the audience to some extent? Ahhh. I really want to discuss this with beanies.

I haven’t watched last night’s episode yet,..what did he do?

    0
    1

Took drugs as soon as he got out. Didn’t even make it to the army stew restaurant near the prison to see his family and Jiwon.

      0
      1

Aw, that’s sad. But I’m sure there’s a reason, either it’s because of his mom or Jiwon.

        0
        1

I’m just so mad. He worked so hard to fix himself only to do this again. And the way it was set up is just… People say it’s realistic but I beg to disagree. It’s way too much set up, it’s unbelievable and was not consistent. Freaking disappointed.

          1
          1

Agreed, his suffering during those months is no joke, so why do drugs again? What made him take them again? I don’t think it’s without a reason, and I have to wait and see tonight’s episode to judge what he did.

Haerongie is 3rd most searched on naver and his cut on last night\’s episode is top 1 on naver tv. I am not the only one freaking out okay! I\’M SO DAMN MAD AND DISAPPOINTED. WAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

hahaha…will the reaction be the same as when Junghwan confess his love to deoksun in ep 18?

I didnt even finish 88! Which is a good thing but dang it. I got caught this time.

I just finished the ep 15 (raw) and hanyang make me feel sad. His fight for months just a waste. Shin PD say that this drama is about “hope” from the bottom of the world. But why they make Hanyang like this. Ohhh….

    0
    1

I knowwwww. Omg. You should see the comments section on naver. The feels. They know it all.

Just hope that all of the things about Hanyang is a twist. Shin Pd lile to twist everything, even a little things. #thereplayseries

Umm do I dare ask which show is this? *chants*- Don’t say Prison Playbook please!

Just so you know, I haven’t watched even ep 12 of Prison Playbook yet so I would just like the name of the show without any details!

only shin pd will evoke this kind of reaction, y’know 😞

Yes. It’s Prison. Oh gosh. I don’t even want to start OTL

      0
      1

I haven´t watched it yet, but my guess is Hanyang fell into cycle again? if it is, then… I would actually be ok with that, because it is more realistic.

    0
    2

gawd….you are going to feel all this anger the moment you know when he fell into cycle again. that damn japanese friend!

      0
      0

I’m also all for realistic portrayal but with this one, I’ve invested a lot of feelings for the character and he made me believe that he can do the impossible. He was trying so hard, so darn hard. I just can’t believe he would waste all those months when he struggled not to take any drugs. I know it’s hard and it makes sense to go back but my heart breaks for the people who believed in him and are waiting to welcome him back.

Eiiiiiii say hi to my new display photo and cover photo! We\’re going down down down down down

    Hello, Hanyang! 👋
    And Jun-ho!
    And Jeh-yeok!

I don’t want Hanyang to break up with Jiwon but I really ship him with Captain Yoo. ^^

    4
    2

      Sigh, the beanie dilemma.
I also ship those two. But I don’t want Ji-won to break Han-yang’s heart either. His haggard appearance and non-reaction at Han-yang’s confession worried me.

      3
      2

I worry about that even in my sleep! I wish we can find out Jiwon’s side too. I bet he also has a story to tell.

        3
        0

I wouldn’t be surprised if Jiwon breaks up with him, but yes, I don’t want to see Hanyang hurt. In that conversation he looked like he wanted to end whatever they have but he’s afraid of what it might to Hanyang.

        1
        0

My thoughts exactly! Omg. Yoo-Yoo couple is so cute! But I still want him to get back with Jiwon.

      3
      1

They are so cute. I’m kind of torn on that, because remember in one of the earlier episodes Jiwon did not let Hanyang hold his hand? I was bothered by that scene and his expression when they last talked.

    Heee… Anyeong! 🤗🤗
I love seeing you falling hard for Lee Kyu-hyung’s charm.

    2
    1

Oh uri Hae-rongi. He is the scene stellar. Like him since Stranger/Secret of Forest, and never imagine to see him again in this act. Love him and captain yo so much. Jung Hae In really on the roll this year, he can pull any look. This drama end thus week but we still have to wait until next week for the sub. If only I can learn korean *sigh*

    2
    1

It’s indeed frustrating to wait! Been cheating on my Mom. I’ve been watching it raw but then I kept wanting to tell her what happened. Hehe.

Thank you to the beanies who shared their opinion about Goblin. And ahm, I think I\’ll pass on this one. With that said, any suggestions? My Mom and I just finished Circle and Forest of Secrets.

What type of show are you looking for? Historical, thriller, rom com, slice of life, fantasy? Do you want something that is completed or a current show?

    0
    1

Completed would be better because we can only watch on Sundays and we marathon. We’ve had back to back mind blowing stuff so I’m thinking something a bit light and breezy? A satisfying ending is a must. 🙂

      0
      1

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo was very sweet and had a satisfying ending.
Shopping King Louis was also very fun but I didn’t really like the ending. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t super satisfying either.
Ex Girlfriend’s Club was one of the funniest dramas I’ve seen. I think it’s only 12 eps so it’s easy to binge.
Go Back Couple was one of my favorites of 2017. It was alternately heartwarming and heartbreaking. I highly recommend it 🙂

        2
        1

I feel like we have the same taste. Lol. I’ve seen all those except SKL. My Mom and I actually watched GBC together and it was a really good experience. It was hours and hours of passing the Kleenex box to each other. Hehe

Thanks for the suggestion! I did try tunnel before and only watched the first episode. It reminded me so much of Signal at the time.

W / Two Worlds would be fun. I got through that drama fast because it was so suspenseful.
    Save Me / Rescue Me. It’s really creepy…and anxiety-producing.
Oh My Ghostess. This one is cute at first but gets more serious. Great characters too.

    0
    1

Thanks! I’ve seen all of them except W.

Maybe it’s time to rewatch OMG. Mom hasn’t seen it yet. Lol

Go Back Couple seems a great drama to watch with your Mom.

Probably a stupid question but, have you seen Because this life is our first?

No. I haven’t yet. For some reasons, I feel like I should watch it alone. Lol

      2
      0

I\’m thinking of watching Goblin with my mom. Now, the question is, does it have a good ending? Like satisfying and not WTF why did I watch this ending?

3
6

LOL. I’m not sure where should I put it – satisfying or WTF ending? Well I think not exactly WTF but maybe wasn’t fully satisfied.

    1
    0

according to my aunt (48) it’s terrible but she’s generally not a fan of Goblin. only liked the bromance and the Reaper.

    0
    0

That question is super subjective. There are beanies who were ok with it and those who weren’t. I lean more to the latter. Then again, I wasn’t nearly as big a fan of the drama as many other beanies though.

    0
    0

The last episode is not as satisfying as it could have been, but not even close to WTF. With that said, every episode has something amazing in it. The side vignettes about the people going to the afterlife are worth watching this drama for as well. This drama affected me so, and no other one has even come close to the emotionally satisfying journey I took with this story. I’m still watching it now and sharing it with my closest friends and family. Watch it. It’s worth it.

I enjoyed Goblin, and for what it’s worth I think the ending fit the rules of gods/reincarnation/etc as laid out in the show. Was it all happiness and perfection? No, but it wasn’t a complete WTF, why the hell did I just waste 20+ hours of my life. I was mostly satisfied with ending, even though it was a bit bittersweet.

    1
    0

I liked the ending…actually the rest of the plot is pretty weird but the ending is solid. Goblin is one of those shows that isn’t technically good (bad plot, characters that don’t make sense) but it has charm and humor that keeps you watching (and the amazing sound track probably had a lot to do with it). I’d go for a show that’s more put together to watch with your mom.

We never know! I feel like he’ll get more casting offers after Prison. Hopefully, he’ll be back in dramaland soon enough. But yeah, he does have a musical right now.

Look at Jun-ho getting closer to all of Je-hyuk’s new friends. I approve, Officer Lee. 😉

    2

Right? It’s really funny coz he’s the one saying all prisoners are bad and that he doesn’t trust them but he’s now going around being Hyung to them. Super cuteeeeee

Now, can we have the same cast of SoF but in a rom-com? I\’d watch that.

Si-mok and Yeo-jin are cute as hell though and I realized their small interactions are what kept me going.

3

Done watching Forest of Secrets. I dont know if it\’s because I expected so much from it but it was rather bland. I\’ve watched a lot more dramas that are deserving to be best of 2017.

4
12

Did we overhype it for you??? Oops…😅😧

I will say, watching it live – it was magic. The sweet suspense of having to wait each week!! For me, this is the best drama of the year, and one of the all time greats. But, I LOVE this genre. It was a perfect trifecta of acting, writing, and production. It even has my favorite opening. I guess I just really liked it…hahaha

    0
    1

Lol. Maybe I just expected too much after it was put up as best drama in the editors’ picks. I bet live watching and marathoning were very different. Still, I found it too complicated and hard to relate to (most of it was about chaebols, bribery, and those complicated terms). At one point, it felt like I was just going around in circles.

It does make me wonder if I would feel different if I watched it in a different time and different mood. It’s great that you enjoyed the show though. Wish I liked it more. 🙂

      1
      0

I feel you. I think the dramas you end up disliking or not really enjoying give you a better gauge on what you’re looking for in a drama and what the crowd is after. You get a lot better at figuring out if you want to start or continue one pretty quickly. See I wouldn’t call Secret Forest or Go Back Spouses my best drama of 2017 but I enjoyed both.
I’d probably go with Girls Generation 1979 or Circle. 🎶👽🎶

    1
    2

Circle was sooo good. My mind was constantly being blown.

      2
      2

My mind gets blown twice in an episode. It’s crazy. Lol.

        3
        1

Me too. Everything was so suspenseful for me. The tension while watching it was brutal. I remember I was so delicate after watching it. Couldn’t even think about rewatching because it got me emotionally. Whew

        0
        0

Just on the top of my mind, I’d say Seven Day Queen, Chicago Typewriter, and Go Back Spouses are the ones for me this year. But yeah, only goes to show that everyone is different and we all like different things. I think it’s even better now because we have a lot of options. Back then, it felt like everything I watched were makjangs. HAHAHA.

I haven’t seen GG1979 but I’ll put it on my list!

      2
      2

Top for me probably FoS, Circle and Chief Kim.

I haven’t gotten to GG1979 either. But I heard good things.

        1
        1

Oh I hope you two try out the first episode to see how you like it. It’s super short only 8 episodes. There’s just so much heart and a sort of coming of age story set in a really interesting time period in Korea.
Oh I have been watching Chief Kim for months. I really like it but I haven’t finished because I like that it’s there waiting for me ol’ reliable. 4 episodes left 💕

          1
          0

Doesn’t it feel like that was all there was? Sigh this new landscape is quite nice

        0
        0

The key is lowering your expectations to below zero when attempting to watch a hyped drama 😄

But I rather agree. I liked FoS very much because the villain role was a role I had always always thought I would love to see. I don’t think I would have liked it as much with a regular villain. The leads were very good but they didn’t make me love the drama.

    0
    0

I watched Forest of Secrets yesterday with my mom (we watched 7 episodes straight) but I till don\’t get the hype. It\’s too plain tbh. Does it pick up? Coz I can\’t see it as best drama of 2017 so far.

3
5

I had the same problem! Everything was well shot but I wasn’t seeing all the surprises that Beanies kept talking about. I did love my main characters (individually and their bond) but everything else just seemed so slow. The last three episodes turned me into a mess. It felt like all the build up was given such a great pay off. There were lots of tears and a nice warmness at the end.

    0
    1

Good to know that the end left you feeling that way. It does feel slow because they’re only after one case. It can get repetitive at times. I loveeee the leads too! I’m just wondering if it would be the same all throughout or will pick up soon. Thanks for your input!

      1
      0

nope . maintains the same pace, approach, story telling.. and if you have figured out the plot by now..atleast i did.. it just gets boring (story wise)

    0
    0

Same with me. I thought there was too much talking at the beginning. And the dark colors made it looking tiring…and maybe it was because I was in the holiday spirit, but I had to stop it and then picked it up again just before the new year. The last six episodes is where it’s at! So keep going. You won’t regret it! I still liked Circle and Lookout better. But the ending they do nail here, better than the others!

    0
    0

I loved the show, as a Show. The mystery was well written. But I thought it lacked emotional punch. I couldn’t really feel for or sympathise with any of the characters. It may be that lack of an emotional connect?

Way to enjoy the holidays
