Also dammit I am really starting to suspect Soo-Young. Like I don’t want to, but the way she kept steering JH away from investigating further this ep and the way she kept pointing at WK before AND HER BLOODY LONG SLEEVES ARE JUST MAKING RED ALARMS BLARE IN MY HEAD OKAY I HOPE I’M BEING PARANOID BUT I NEED TO CONFIRM THE STATUS OF SY’S FOREARM.

This is a great theory! I suspected Woo-kyung’s psychologist sunbae for a while now, but since the latest episode finally decided to focus on him, I’ve become doubtful. Your theory would be awesome.

Lol, I’m super conflicted bc SY has always raised and then lowered red flags for me (of which the lowering, in hindsight, may have been me not wanting to believe it).

The first and most worrying thing is how SY knew every single poem in each case (supposedly by looking it up, but we’ve never seen her actually do that), and even corrected WK on the original lines of the one left w/ HN’s mother.

Second is how there’ve been moments where SY was outright obstructive. How she ‘didn’t think’ to even look at the list of orphanage alumni, even tho logically that would be her first step after employees. How she ‘followed orders’ by not telling JH about SR’s mother’s change of heart, even tho she knew about the parking ticket as well. How she pushed for WK and then EH as the true culprit in the RC cases, and kept wanting to leave incorrectly closed cases alone.

And then of course, there’s the matter of certain character-poster differences for our 4 leads. honestly if I turn out the author/marketing team really did that on purpose then I will love this show forever

Tbh I don’t rule out WK’s sunbae either. I think they could both be involved in this mystery group that seems to be at the centre of all this (with bets on sunbae being EH’s ‘family member’). I just really hope I’m wrong about SY, bc I so badly want her to be one of the good guys. But looking at the suspicious cues partnered with her violent tendencies and the hints at her childhood and those BLOODY LONG SLEEVES…gah.

The police do not seem incompetent in this show–unlike other Kdrama cops–so some of Soo-young’s oversights could be viewed in a suspicious light. I’m thinking back to her character’s introduction. She had an explanation for how she got to the doctor so quickly, but since your post above, I have been thinking about that part of the story and starting to question it. While I would like her to be on the side of the good guys, so to speak, I think that the possibility of her being involved in the murders would be awesome from a mystery thriller stand point.

It’d be an amazing twist, it’d just break my heart at the same time lol. I’ve been thinking about that first meeting too. I wonder if SY got there so quickly bc she already knew the way? And ofc she would’ve tried even harder to stop Dr Park’s suicide if he was someone she knew.

Lol, it’s hard bc the show doesn’t seem to have done any fake-out flashbacks yet, so I think we can trust visuals of the past, but the narration, on the other hand…

And we’ve never seen her in short sleeves, have we?
