Whenever I think of pie I think of a Nickelodeon commercial from a handful of years ago that came out around Thanksgiving time and the commercial ended with the announcer guy saying, “And remember kids, don’t let P-I-E turn into P-I-G. My favorite pie is a sweet potato (or, if you’re southern sweet pa-tay-tah) or Village Inn has this super dope pie that is a layer of pumpkin topped with a layer of pecan pie topped with whipped cream. Or key lime. I once at an entire key lime pie in one sitting. It made me sick and I couldn’t eat key lime pie again for like 3 year but when I could–it was a glorious reunion.
Lol. I did grow up in the South actually hahaha. I’ve had sweet potato everything (love sweet potato casserole) except for pie actually…
I really want to try that layered pecan and pumpkin pie! It might become my new favorite thing 😀
ME TOO! Sweet potato everything! One of my favorite managers used to bring sweet potato pie to the library for Christmas Eve (we had to work Christmas Eve) with egg nog. It was a good day.
I’ve actually never head strawberry rhubarb pie, though I have made (and loved) strawberry rhubarb muffins. I know its a classic that I should really try 😀
Pie is basically one of my favorite foods, to be totally honest. My old roommate and I have a tradition of always trying to get some kind of pie when we’re together and one year I even made a trip to NYC so we could celebrate pie day together (3/14 i.e. 3.14) (I know, I’m a total nerd). My second favorite holiday after Thanksgiving.
That sounds like the best thing evaar so jealous of you gals! I celebrated Pii day once in school, but not since. Maybe I should make it a thing now hehe

Have you ever had apple pie with the cheddar crust? Or cheddar on top?

Rhubarb pie us also delicious. It’s got a great sweet-tart thing going for it.

Yes! It’s a summer favorite for me 🙂 We had giant blueberry bushes in the front of our house growing up and they were heavenly in a homemade pie!
