Ep 3 (which follows Ep 7, but is really Ep 4):
Did you really invite him over just for ramyun?
As a member of the Rooftop Residents’ Support Squad, and a lawyer ‘assisting’ EBI with various tasks, G may have accidently unearthed a clue about the mysterious people/organisation targeting Shadow (who looks a lot like BTS’ Jin), through Kitty. But she needs EBI to tell her what it is.

Starring: @wishfultoki @hotcocoagirl @cloggie @fatcat007 @egads @neener @greenfields.

Greenfields had disappeared for a while. After the fight at the karaoke where Cloggie, Coco, Kitty and Toki beat up some thugs, G had accompanied the fellows to the police. She needed to hear what they had to say – and had promised EBI she’d be back soon, But G had disappeared.

In fact, G used to be an Errand Boy too, once upon a day. And she was a lawyer. She had a hunch that they’d be released pretty soon. Anyone with the guts to target Shadow, had to be a powerful and influential person or they’d be sure to lose. And lose badly.

G’s hunch was right. The men were let go almost immediately. And G followed stealthily.

@egads ahjumma was G’s old friend from her Errand Boy days. She’s agreed to help her on the sly. Not to let anyone within EBI know just yet.

“The goons have turned into The Shady Alley,” came egads ahjumma’s voice in G’s earpiece. G was strolling behind – following people had changed since G’s days. Now ahjumma could simply monitor them via traffic cams she’d hacked into. G didn’t need to do a thing.

“Don’t even bother frowning. Move your lazy ass!” barked ahjumma. “So lazy you haven’t even prepared that ramyun yet. Did you really invite him over for ramyun?”

    How did she know?

About the frown, not the ramyun.

G ran towards The Shady Alley and peeked in. It was a small one, a dead end, but known for being a hotspot for nefarious organisations.
    And –

Yikes! Sure enough, the men were on kneeling before a suited man, The Suited Man’s back was to her, but he was not Suitless Minion, despite their similar names. He was speaking angrily, and G could barely hear his words but she recognised his voice.

Nobody believes me when I tell them that there’s so much you hide

G had always found Prosecutor Lee rather chequered, and here was proof.

    “She’s his only weakness.”

Gasp! Was Prosecutor Lee was talking about Shadow? Prosecutor Lee was involved?
G scoffed. Kitty was hardly a weakness, no wonder their plan failed.

After a while, the goons scurried away as G continued to hide. Prosecutor Lee pulled out his phone.

“That reporter girl who writes all their stories – ”

    G could finally hear him.

“She’s the same one who wrote a couple of articles about the Earl Grey. She’s obsessed with it. I thought it was a coincidence. Articles about EBI’s feats as well as Earl Grey, but she was spotted with them. If so, then she can’t be innocent. She should know more than Shadow’s girl anyway.”

    With that, he left.

    “Earl Gray?” she asked ahjumma.

“Who knows but….Coco was definitely a bit strange the other day. I thought she was lost in the EBI Building, but she should be familiar with it”

G had heard enough. She needed to think about this. G went home to her rooftop apartment to sleep over it before informing EBI.

Turns out @wishfultoki had moved in next door! Wohoo! Welcome Party!
Toki had invited @hotcocoagirl @cloggie @fatcat007 & @neener. egads ahjumma too, but she’d got her knitting to do.

It was the perfect time to ask some questions.
The girls were still super excited about the goons and the attempt to kidnap Kitty.

Shadow had been furious. And an angry Shadow was frightening (though he never lost his worldwide handsome).

G asked Neener first, “do you like Earl Grey?”

Neener was uncertain, “My memory’s still a bit hazy. Not sure.”
Well, Neener had been with G that fateful day when she invited her UB over for ramyun, when Coco was on a quest for tea in the EBI premises. So Neener couldn’t know.

Cloggie decided to show off her martial arts skills.

“Cloggie, do you like Earl Grey?” asked G surreptitiously.
    Cloggie:

Toki the musical geeeenius decided she needed to channel her muscial abilities into dancing. She could do some of the choreo to iKon’s ‘Love Scenario’ now.

Kitty was on the phone, reassuring Shadow she was alright. And Morpheus and Neo were doing their jobs.

The music changed to Day6’s “Girl, put your record on.” Oops! It was part of G’s playlist for when her UB came over for *ahem* ramyun. Which immediately made everyone ask, “Did you REALLY call him over just for ramyun?”

It was getting harder and harder to ask about the Earl Grey. G was frustrated. What was the connection between Prosecutor Lee and Coco and Earl Grey and EBI?

G heard a chuckle in her ear. It was ahjumma. “And you thought you’d get anything out of these relaxed kids – you might as well have had your ramyun tonight.”

True. G had gotten nothing. And the next day, there was huge ruckus at EBI. Prosecutor Lee had arrested Coco!
    Whoa! What did Coco know?

I love that my goal of being the knitting ahjumma ordering around errand boys is being realized here on DB.

I like that my special martial art skills – which make me seem like five people at the same time – are finally being appreciated.

It started off with the call to all Errand Boys to write a story with kdrama tropes

It’s the Errand Boys Story @waadmay, partially just for fun and partially an attempt to move up to rooftops through silly stories and gifs. I’ll make a list of all the episodes and post them on my fanwall when I have time. 🙂

I like that Errand Girls came over to my welcome party on the rooftop after all. *beams*

This was hilarious G-, and the Early Grey mystery was very suspenseful! Congrats… the plot thickens… NIF style. Now to think about Episode 8!

I’m glad you like the Earl Grey mystery. It’s a vital hint. Coco’s quest – there’s more than meets the eye.

I love the Errand Girls ~

I’m also intrigued by the Earl Grey, and I have an idea of how it fits in with Coco’s backstory. The main question is ~ do I want to write another gif story today?

*I work the weekend this week so I’m still off work right now*

Sure, if you want. I’m going to write mine for the weekend, heading into the World Cup final.
By the way, this is Episode 8 Greenfields, if my calculations are correct!
4th in the current Quest for a Hot Drink, 8th counting everything.

… I just got called by work to work night shift tonight…

This is the third time they’ve asked in two weeks, am I an awful team player to keep refusing? Part of the reason I took this job was because they hired me for day shift, but there is a monetary incentive if I work tonight.

            Unnies, please advise…

@hotcocoagirl If you can say no, don’t feel bad about it. It’s up to you, if you have the energy…

            0

            @hotcocoagirl – oh no. 🙁 That sucks.

As for refusing, it depends on a few factors – why you? Can they call someone else? Is this a regular thing?

Also how re you feeling now? Rested? You were so tired just yesterday.

            3
            0

            @hitcocoagirl – also I agree with Toki.

            1. You are under zero obligation to say yes. They hired you for the day shift.

            2. Don’t feel bad about saying no. We all need to learn to say no more often, I suspect.

            @greenfields @wishfultoki unnies,

I called back and said no. I was hired for day shift, and due to all the overtime last week I do not need the hours for this pay period. My work sunbae scolded me just last week that I can’t work as much as I am. She said that my time is just as important as someone with children and a spouse, which no one has ever said before, and that I shouldn’t just expect to work all holidays like I have been, just because I’m single. She said that the schedule is not my responsibility, and I should never feel guilty for saying no. She said that I should never compare myself. She said this job is shit, especially when you don’t take of yourself.

I am still so tired. Even just getting that call nearly reduced me to tears this morning. I’m scared of working, but they say that’s the first six-eight months of this job. Gosh this got angsty again. Sorry unnies

@greenfields Work sunbae is so wonderfully cynical, she keeps telling me to trust no one and do my work like I only have myself to rely on.

But then she turns around and berates me for getting upset, because we’re human. I wish I worked more often with her, the work ahjummas are all so strict on doing things right and have such thick skin, but they are kind. Much more so than my previous internships in grad school, so I am honestly much happier than before.

    Excellent ppl.

Also, we never got a clear answer to if you REALLY just invited him over for ramyun? 🤔 I am intrigued.
Also, was @neener okay with you inviting him for ramyun? Did something happen? Is that why she lost her memory?

Did I REALLY just invite him over for ramyun? I told you I did. It’s just…*ahem* ramyun.
This is where the invite happened.

Perhaps you can guess my intentions yourself. It explains @neener‘s loss of memory as well.

      1
      1

Mhmm. It must be the shock of seeing her UB heading over for *ahem* ramyun at a rooftop appartment *coughs*
I can understand the memory loss resulting from the trauma.

        2
        1

The date hasn’t happened yet. >_< I refuse to accept this as the reason for Neener's memory loss. If anything, she needs her memory more than ever now.

          2
          1

Look it’s possible G. What if neen saw UB entering your *cough* rooftop appartment & realized what was happening & was heart broken…?
But you didn’t see that she saw you?
I see the development of an interesting love triangle…
We need her to recover her memory asap to know WHAT DID SHE ACTUALLY SEE? *massive coughing*
