Here’s another great interview with Xiao Zhan. What he would say to his own self, if he met himself 5 years younger, made me tear up.

He describes/compares his temperament to that of a cat– not liking confrontations/not like to make a scene, but if something were to happen or if push comes to shove, he WILL be like a cat and claw his way out or around… Ergo, his little clawing action that he did lol

I was reminded of how my dad caught a cat in a cage and it went crazy with claws extended so that anyone who happened to touch the cage might get scratched.

Wow – what a thoughtful and truly introspective young man he is. Thank you for sharing this. XiaoZhan just doesn’t fail to deliver. I look forward to seeing what he does with himself over the next 5-10 years.
      Thank you @growingbeautifully!

    I love him.

The more I learn about him, the more interviews of his that I watch and hear the answers of, the more I watch of him, the more works of his that I watch and see that he choose…
    My heart ~~

The way he just lights up and his eyes just sparkle at the thought of baked good and cakes and choosing to be a pastry chef as his life-long career is just so sweet and endearing

Hmmm What he chooses to say to his younger self– if only all artists were able to do the same and tell themselves the same thing then maybe–just maybe– there would be less self harm within the entertainment industry, less stigma on mental health, and more resources and help given out

Same … the more I listen to him and watch BTS of him, the more lovable he is, and the more I want to see of him. He has that knack of being so genuine (even if the questions or script are given to him in advance), that everything he says and does overflows with sincerity. Looks like we’re going to be fans of this boy for a long time!

Just like Na Ying says, he’s just so PURE ☺️☺️☺️☺️🥰🥰🥰🥰
I think it has to do with what he always (humbly) says he tries to keep in mind with all that he does— to approach everything with a “初心” mindset…
Translation: To approach and do everything with the mindset that you’re doing it for the very first time…. That way, there is always room to grow, room to learn, and room for improvement

I wonder why he always keeps saying that he cannot be an actor for long time (he’s not seeing acting as a long-term career)?!! He’s so talented, hard-working and good looking and has a potential to stay in the industry for long long time… Maybe living as a celebrity is so overwhelming or perhaps too restraining for him that he feels he cannot endure it for so long

Like you say, I think it’s because of how restraining, but at the same time, too overwhelming for him. I think he prefers the more quiet lifestyle— he always says that if he were to choose a life-long career for himself, it would be a pastry chef with his own bakery—It’s also most likely because being a public figure/celebrity was never his first choice for a career. He has the talent (and the bonus of looks) and the humble personality that will bring him far and will help him to receive popularity long term in the entertainment industry, but I doubt that the work he does being a public figure/celebrity is his passion. I see him as more of an arts/humanities type of person— photography, design, visual arts, humanitarian work.

Being a public figure/celebrity might not be his passion, but I believe acting and signing is actually his main/primary passion (I can see that when he performs and how hardworking he is as an actor/singer)… So I guess the rigid restrains around him as an Asian Celebrity are the main reason that he wants to pursue his other passions rather than his main passion and talent… he just desires more freedom in his future life… Anyway I hope he opens his pastry shop in Canada, more precisely in BC 😂😂😂

I love his interviews. He has a very deep awareness, maturity, and humbleness about him. I wonder if this is because he was a bit older when he entered the industry compared to others, which helped give him a perspective outside of being a star and just being a normal person.

I typically don’t bother watching actor/idol interviews as I tend to find them boring. But there is this genuineness and deep introspection about him that draws me to him and makes me want to watch all his interviews. He doesn’t feel fake and his responses are all very well thought out and interesting to listen to.

Thanks for posting this @growingbeautifully ❤️
