Beanie level: Water maid

I just wonder. After ten episodes, does BTLIOF still look like a rehash of NigeHaji? I’ve never watched NigeHaji. i tried, but sources are so scarce that maybe the episodes are found in deep web. Lol.

    I don’t think so, and it kind of confuses me to see people still saying it.

    The setup is similar as in it’s a contract marriage, but the way that they tackle their themes and explore character relationships are different. NigeHaji is lovely and also hits on many important social issues, but I think that BTLIOF is able to delve deeper into its themes and flesh out its characters more. And of course that makes sense, both the episode count and episode length are longer!

    A highlight of both of them remains the conversations between characters, though. But I think NigeHaji does more telling and less showing about social issues, while BTLIOF is the opposite. They also do some telling, but there is more showing via character actions.

    I never find myself thinking of NigeHaji while watching BTLIOF. They are their own separate, if somewhat similar, pieces.

      Oh! The shows are also similar in that the female lead falls first and tries to get the male lead to open up. I think that Se-hee is a tougher person to crack, though, likely due to whatever happened 12 years ago.

        Yeah. In NigeHaji, the guy was just socially awkward and inept but not closed off. He closed off himself from relationships because he had low self-esteem and thought no one’s gonna like him and he’ll be a bachelor forever but that’s fine with him. I think Se-hee has more layers and the longer runtime definitely helped make flesh out these characters more. But I think even with a shorter runtime this writer could have achieved that too BECAUSE SHE IS AWESOME.

        When promos for BTLIOF came out, it really looked like NigeHaji. But even after the first week, it’s completely obvious that it’s different. 🙂

Last episode of WYWS felt so anticlimatic. I hate it when shows abandon logic in the name of plot progression. I know Yoobeom was somewhat stupid but not THAT stupid. 🙄

Did anything interesting happen in WYWS tonight other than dream girl having dreams, prosecutor getting into trouble but still unsurprisingly saves the day and Batman being awesome as always?

    Just what I was thinking… its like the show is on repeat every few episodes!!

    Lol, they have a new dreamer and a bit of a plot twist; but our hero and heroine are still safe at the end of the day. I think it’s like the case of ‘the boy who cried wolf’ – after so many near-death scares, you never feel like they’re in serious danger, and that takes away much of the fun.
    Why am I watching this? 🤔 The visuals! :p

For some reason, I’m wary of the girl on the bus beside Sanggu–the one he almost mistook for Suji. Is she Jung Min? Gaaa.

    But considering the fact that Se-hee has known Sang-gu for 18 years, he probably would have known Jung-min, right?

      Maybe. Maybe not. Sehee isn’t exactly the type to disclose information about his personal life so who knows. After the Boknam fake-out, I feel like I suspicious of any unknown person shown in the frame. Hahaha!

    Omg Omgg, I THOUGHT THE SAME! Now, I don’t feel crazy.
    It seemed odd to me that they’d focus on her, without purpose. And to me, it kinda looked like she recognized Sanggu, but couldn’t remember where.
    Also, let’s not forget the hints that this show drops in buses

I feel like Sehee’s want to own a house even at the cost of his living expenses (not kitty’s though) has more story to it. Maybe the girl left him because he didn’t have a house? Lol
