Beanie level: Errand boy

To think mota would have been a time slip drama.

Always knew it, her inspiration must have been Pokemon Go

After reading the article, i wish she had chosen to write a time travel drama though because that is her forte.

If only the writer at least followed the logic behind Pokemon Go (PoGo) it might make the game more understandable. PoGo has quests and definite ways to level up. The game in this drama is just weird with no definite purpose, kill and kill with hopes you get a quest. And PoGo players wont attempt to capture a tier 5 monster alone unlike JW who still did the quest when it was already told he needed 4 players 🤦🏻‍♀️. And look what happened: his bro died.

thats what happens when n00bs like JW use cheat mode.

Exactly! Without those ‘special’ things that were custom made for him, he couldn’t do it!

well, n00b writer should ask someone who is familiar with pokemon go for 101 before attempting to write a plot using AR as the plot~

Random thoughts while watching MOTA ep 14:

* Damn he’s fast for someone with a limp

* Can Hyun Bin stop attacking me with those smiles + dimples.

* *sees Hyun Bin & Shin hye together* Why couldn’t the writer have included them together in the first place they could have been so badass as a team *cries*

* I wonder what she thinks of to cry on queue
* Why do they even have phones?
* “Where are you? What are you doing” x100
* They should have at least had a goodbye kiss *oh never mind*
* Why is Go Yura even onscreen
* Did Su Jin really just try to kill herself *smh*
* Who’s that shadow at the end. Is that an NPC *oh wait I’m so stupid*

I still love this show, it’s my favourite of the bunch and i’m so sad it’s ending next week. 13 & 14 was so thrilling to watch and now I have no drama to match the intensity and fresh plot. Also no reason to stay up at 2am every week to watch an episode.

The emperor trying instant coffee for the first time is gold. I didn’t know Shin Sung Rok could not only be scary but hilarious as well hahaha.
I can’t get enough of this show.

HOLY SHIT Hyun Bin’s face when he realised his secretary has died was all sorts of heartbreak that is made me cry💔 his face alone did that! I’ve never really been a hyun bin fan but this show has officially turned me into one.

Ep 10 felt like being in one long level of a game that you just can’t seem to finish. The intensity and frustration was real. Can’t wait for next week’s episode as I’m anticipating some real interactions between Hee Joo and Jin Woo and maybe even some answers about Se Joo (no death news okay?)

We really do need some answers now! It seems like they will close the servers for the game.
Hyun has really out done himself in terms of acting in MoA!
His smile, sadness, determination and just sheer will to survive a game that is hell bent on killing him is portrayed so beautifully!

Catching up to the last 4 episodes of of MOA has been a ride. Watching Jin Woo’s character after his accident was probably the most saddest and frustrating thing to watch especially because of the person he was before. It was so sad to see him so broken and lonely with Hyung Seok’s relentless ghost and people thinking he was crazy. I would have given up if I was him but his determination to level up and fight him was amazing to watch. Finally Hee Joo knows the truth about her brother and all that’s left for her is to finally play the game to understand it’s crazy world which I am excited about because her character feels more like plot device than anything. I know her trust in Jin Woo has been completely shattered but I hope she can understand his sincerity to find her brother and uncover the mystery behind the game without finding him too crazy.

I would LOOOVE to have her play the game. Who knows she might actually have a knack for it. My sister was never seriously into games before my brother left but now she can play at his level. Also, since Seju programmed her in as an NPC, maybe she has special features when she logs in as a player. The possibilities could be fantastic.

So true I want her to kick ass if not in the real world. I’d also want to see her meet Emma 😆

Min Joo and Jin Woo’s relationship is the most adorable thing ever. I love that she’s already attached to him before Hee Joo and him.

MJ and JW are adorable. She’s oblivious of his problems and he lights up when ever he sees her.

He craves family (probably why he married the awful actress), and she treated him like a pesky older brother from the start, and he couldn’t help but like it.

I thought their first encounter would make her not like him but I was surprised by their bond which is so endearing

Interesting you mentioned he’s craving for family. He said he’s tired of getting tangled with “practically” family, but he’s unconsciously tangling himself again with Hee Joo and her family. Perhaps there’s more reason behind the fact that he hated “family” than because of his two failed marriages.

And another interesting fact that hit me after reading your post, Jin Woo is more attached to the families’ sister than his lovers. His first wife’s sister still sees him as brother in law, and now Min Joo happily treats him as a brother in law too. 😆 Something about Jin Woo treating the family really well once he’s grown attached to them.

Auugh 😭😭😭 this is what I currently live for now. And I really really love the genuine smile he gives her. When she hugged him excitedly. That was FTW l.

And their cute quirky conversations in Hee Joo’s room was 😬😬😬 Min Joo sounded like a mother calling out on daughter Hee Joo and THE bf:

Jin Woo – She hates me right now
    Min Joo – PSSSSSSSSH
Jin Woo – *smiled adorably like he got caught* I’m serious!

He’s so fond of her. Honestly this is probably the only reason why I wanted Hee Jojo and Jin Woo together. So that Jin Woo can have Min Joo as his family. He’ll never be bored having a sister like her.

Exactly. He’ll get along really well with Min-joo and probably Se-joo too (let’s hope that guy is safe and sound somewhere). He even likes being fussed over by grandma. He is just so lonely and thirsty for genuine familial love.

Right. And perhaps that’s why he feels obligated to this family who welcomed him with open arms once they’ve warmed up to him. They looked after him when he was very ill without asking for anything back. He wished they didn’t trust him so much, but he can’t walk away from them at all either. One call from Min Joo and he’s back in their lives.

I can’t wait for this. Thank goodness it’s the first drama of 2019

After watching Last empress I now understand why I found the PD’s other workReturn just as enjoyable. Although the writing was more thought out and made me curious for the next episode for Return, The Last Empress is solely enjoyable because of its crazy plotting and over the top characters thanks to the PD. At first it disappointed because it wasn’t the type of show I wanted it to be but watching it in another perspective is so much more enjoyable. Can’t wait to see what sort of craziness next week will bring.

Return was also enjoyable to watch, but for me, The Last Empress’ credit is largely due to the writer, Kim Sun Ok because she is one famous makjang’s writer in Korea. Her popularity is almost the same as Kim Eun Sook in Korea and she had many hit drama under her belt. Her formula also is the pretty similar in almost drama and it made every drama entertaining to watch lol. This PD on the other hand didn’t have good credits in the past. He probably just lucky to meet writers (Return and The Last Empress) who know what they exactly want in their drama. Not to mention the actors mostly are seniors and some are familiar faces in makjang too.

I had no idea about the writers credits for last empress since I don’t usually watch weekend dramas but that’s interesting to know.

I also enjoyed Return ! The writer knows how to write good makjang. I wanted to watch one of her previous work but I can’t find strengh to watch a long makjang drama.

I was thinking about how amazing Shin Min Ah and Jung Kyung Ho would be in a drama and Lo and behold they were in a CF together! Crazy thing is I’ve actually seen this ad but didn’t even realise the significance. I hope they get to act together one day

I love how Jung kyung ho always posts his drama scripts before they even release anything about the drama. I’m curious about the cast and if they’ve had their script reading yet.

I do find it a bit creepy that her brother put an avatar of her in the game under the name of “Emma”…

      Why?

Don’t you feel that the way she is presented playing the guitar is a bit sensual with the red scarf (but in an un-earthy way)?

Also there is the possibility that the avatar might come to life and try to take over the real person’s life… with this writer you never know what will happen hehe.

Oh true. I just thought he tried to infuse her life with a character that is more ideal I didn’t think of it that way.

That would be fun to watch 😆
