Beanie level: Errand boy

What the frack is up with YG and it’s artists. Can they not be scandal free for once. I still think it’s unfair that B.I has to leave since he technically didn’t do drugs and was struggling internally. Artists who are struggling need help not be penalised!

it\’s been a while since i\’ve watched a thoroughly hilarious and crack rom-com. Shin Sung Rok was made for this role and i\’m really happy for my girl Go Won Hee\’s first leading role. Set against the backdrop of the fashion world, the sleek and glamorous cinematography with the mystical BGM is quite intriguing. Although some of the dialogues and thought processes made me a little uncomfortable at the start but I’m fully on board to see the female lead reaching her dream and Shin Sung Rok being an absolute crackhead for 16 hours

Same thought. Ep 1-2 did made me a uncomfortable, but I knew what I was going into, I’ve seen it in the previews. Ep 3-4 reeled me in once the backstory was given. I’m rooting for Jae Hee achieving her dream and also being more confident.

Plus SSR is just delightful as crack head Yi Do. Yi Do is weird, but Jae Hee/Ye Rin is just as weird. He has met his match. Hahaha

I’m pretty excited for this. The female cast is a winner for me and the premise seems fresh. I hope it fills the gap of HPL.

It ends where it all began ♥️

The last two episodes were pretty filler while wrapping up on some plot points but honestly I don’t care because this was a stress free drama to begin with that allowed me to enjoy two adults fall in love while also root for the side characters own journey as well. Kudos to the writer for flipping over some tropes and allowing not only the main leads but other characters to just communicate over things. I still wanted Shi An to find out Deok Mi’s identity but I guess it’s her secret to tell. All in all this was a fun drama filled with great romantic development (I’m huge on this aspect as many shows lack it), an underlying theme of fangirling to drive that romance and the addition of art to give each character their own perspective on things.

This woman is so legendary that she got her own reunion scene with her beloved husband. OST and everything 😂

I’m gonna miss these two so so much. Their chemistry was magical both the actors and their respective characters which makes it that much more special 💕 I hope to see these two reunite once more in the future

So this is what it feels like when your bias enlists 😭 Goodluck to him I hope we get an album before he goes

I saw this tight after waking up. My brain is still spazzing. I didn’t expect my ultimate bias to give me a shock in this way. It was just last night when I was wishing for him to get back to the small screen.

That last episode got me so emotional. This was such a fun ride from start to finish. I watched this for Kim Dong Wook and the promise for comedy but I’m so glad we had more than that. The entire cast was hilarious and on crack and there wasn’t a single unlikeable character. This was a great follow up to fiery priest and I’m so sad it’s over. Honestly all shows involving taking down evil politicians should be this fun. The OSTs were also a great addition to the show ♥️

the dreaded noble idiocy is peaking through the horizon. i really hope they are trolling and don’t actually go through with it. otherwise it will undo their entire relationship. *fingers crossed*

I think writer want to parallel the “break up” scene in episode 9 where DM did lett go of Ryans hand, and here where they knows everything about each other and wont lett go of each others hands, being stronger together 🙂

Her private life 13 & 14:

The subtle and thoughtful writing of plot points is probably my favourite thing about this show. I loved how each plot point is never blown out of proportion for the sake of drama but resolved with so much emotion. Parent issues are a common trope in dramaland but it all comes down to execution. I love how it was resolved through mature conversations and poignant moments. It was especially nice that the lead couple were together through it all while also trying to give each other space when needed.

Another thing I really liked was the resolution of Eun Gi and even the growth of Hyo Jin. Eun Gi was a difficult one because he really felt like an irrelevant character when he tried to go beyond being Deok Mi’s family and I think the reduced screen time he had and time away from Deok mi onscreen gave us and him time to think about his actions and revisit his feelings for her. That whole conversation they had of not being there as a friend when needed spoke volumes about the nature of their relationship and how sad it was that they couldn’t be around each other because of the awkwardness. Also when he came to tell her that he was sorry for making her feel uncomfortable and that seeing her happy is what he wanted was the icing on the cake. I gotta hand it to Ann bo hyun for making me empathise with him in that scene.

Cindy’s arc is also another plot point which I found was done quite naturally without even giving her a lot of screen time, which I honestly thought was impossible given the nature of her character in the beginning. I like that she still felt like the same person from the start but it shows that the only thing she needed was good role models which were Ryan and Deok Mi to realise she needed to stand up for herself and find something that she was good at.

Last but not least it’s obvious but Deok Mi! I thought Ryan was the perfect boyfriend but then there’s Deok Mi. Again another female character of Park Min Young that I love. She has been pretty insightful from the beginning from noticing Ryan’s dislike for hand holding and his inability to draw but the way she encourages him to overcome it is literally the sweetest. Honestly even if I was in Ryan’s shoes I would have blurted the L word because how can you not love someone as supportive as Deok Mi. With only the childhood connection left I have full hope they will get through it together.

On a shallow note KJW’s bed hair should be a look:

thanks for the insightful analysis. I enjoyed those 2 eps too and for all the same reasons! I have to say, though, that I found Ryan’s mum’s reason/excuse too simple, to the point of not wanting to believe it. She lost him. that’s it??
Mind you, now everything is hinting at Deok Mi’s mum being involved in dropping him at the orphanage… I hope this doesn’t spell “mandatory noble idiocy break up” in our Heroine’s mind!! 🙁

I thought the same with the reason. Maybe they didn’t want to paint the Mum as heartless so they needed a legitimate reason however simple. I have full hope they’ll talk through it and get over it just like they did with the mother storyline only because this writer has dealt with things very nicely so far.

Unrelated, but how do you separate your paragraphs and pictures though? I need this trick!

I love how nothing is drawn out for too long. Also, how the relationship between our leads grows and changes amidst and around all these other storylines.

yes to all this. i was really impressed with both Eun-gi and Cindy in these episodes. I’m particularly charmed with how much I’ve grown to like Cindy–I really DID NOT like her at the beginning. I am always a huge fan when female characters are given a dynamic arc, and I feel like Cindy’s is the most defined in this show.

As to the mom dropping Ryan off at the orphanage…I think there must be some more to the back story… it’s not just a boy she met at the park once, and then took to the orphanage. Did he live with them for a while? And then could not for some reason? We know she’s the kind of mom who takes people in warmly. And she has so much feeling associated with him. So maybe she had hoped to adopt him but wasn’t able to because of finances or whatnot?

I’m actually scared that this is the part where we’ll get some crazy “We Must Beak Up over Helpless Feelings of Guilt and I’ll Let go of Your Hand in a Huge Cinematographic Shot” type drama: when we find out why Deok Mi’s mum left Ryan at the orphanage… 🙁

Yessss, I totally agree with your review! 💖💖💖 The side characters’ stories were resolved well. And thank you for capturing adorkable Ryan in this gif! Hehe

This Bts just proves that they winged the entire scene. I wish they showed the small details in the actual drama that were in the bts

Kim Jae wook and Park Min Young Deok Mi and Ryan in their natural habitat.

i swear these past few episodes the PD just threw away the script and told them to be themselves.

Ryan gold appreciation post:

I’ve never really had a favourite male character and mostly attributed my love for a character because of my love for the show or even couple but saying this out loud I’m 100% sure that Ryan Gold is legit my favourite male characters of all time. Maybe it’s because Kim Jae Wook plays him but that aside he made my heart swell numerous times from his thoughtful and considerate gestures throughout the episodes.

His mature views on things and conversations with Deok Mi as well as his consistency as a character continues to surprise me. I really want to attribute his character to the actor and also the writer for bringing out such a caring, considerate and downright sexy male character who knows boundaries and is super insightful of other people and situations. I still can’t get over the way he said ‘it’s okay’ to Deok Mi!
