Beanie level: Jang Geu-rae

Finally started watching Just Between Lovers and I am loving it already. The characters with their vulnerabilities have me hooked and the noir like vibe of the scenes and its soundtrack make this drama very different from the ones I have seen. I am rooting for the two leads but I already have terrible second lead syndrome- his back story is just so heart breaking because he seems like he has it all but has to pay a heavy price for it. Can hardly wait to watch the rest of it!

Suggestions for a long weekend drama? Something on the lines of “life is beautiful”. I’m currently watching father is strange.

Does anyone here watch Variety Shows? I have never watched one but I am really intrigued by Master in the House because of the actors involved. Any reviews?

Yes, and I’m really enjoying Master in the House so far, they did well with bringing such an odd group together! Lee Seung-gi is enjoying “not being the youngest” for the first time and I just find Yook Sung-jae adorable for his crush on him! Lee Sang-yoon is a variety newbie so everything is a whole new world to him and Yang Se-hyung is hilarious!

The ensemble cast is what has been drawing my attention too but sadly i don’t know enough about Korean entertainment to know the Master(s). Thanks, i’m going to check it out.

I don’t think I would know all the Masters but I’m watching it for the cast!

I watched the first episode and actually enjoyed it. Lee Seung Gi and Sungjae are so cute and Lee Sang Yoon is such an adorable geek!

Oh, good you enjoyed it, I just really like the idea of visiting a master’s home and living their way for a whole day, some find it boring but for me it’s interesting!

        1
        1

yeah, specially when the master is eccentric and they all become like little kids in awe of a big brother!

don´t like it. It is not funny.

Agree with redfox – I don’t particularly care for this one.

I do enjoy some variety shows – normally Running Man, Weekly Idols, Knowing Bros/Ask Us Anything, Radio Star, 1N2D – when there’s a guest, an actor, idol or otherwise, that I’m familiar with. Because they are forced to do silly things, you get to see a different side of the person (but often it seems forced). Other than that, nope, I’m not very keen on variety shows.

okay. Thanks. Even i feel that variety shows more often than not, get very silly!

Is anyone recapping Just between lovers?

What’s the verdict on JTBC’s Just between lovers? Should i wait for it to end and binge watch?

I’m not sure binge-watching it is a good idea! I don’t know about others but sometimes I’m such an emotional mess at the end of the episodes that I need time to recollect myself! It is one of the most beautiful shows I’ve watched, it deals with tragedy in a very quiet yet heart-wrenching way, its chracters feel so real with how they’re trying to live with pain and guilt, and just surviving!

I have the same question! 😛

I’d rate it 8/10 for now because the slow reveal of details is a bit frustrating. What I like the most are the scarred main characters who quietly carry on with their lives – you can’t help but root for them.
So, basically you have 2 options:
    1) Binge-watch and catch up now. (Yes, yes, do it!)
    2) Wait for it to end to ensure it doesn’t go downhill from now. So far it’s a thoughtful and beautiful drama with wonderful acting and music, so I’d go for option 1. 😀

option 1 it is. I did the same with Because this life is my first but the wait for the newer episodes was agonizing though so worth it!

so far it is good.but I wouldn’t recommend binge watching in 1-2 sitting, you might need a moment to collect yourself every time an episode ends..it sure hits hard right in the heart

This is more on character-driven drama so for me,I prefer not to binge watch this kind of drama because it kinda exhausting. I started it last two weeks, but I’m still at epi 4. Plot-driven drama is more fun for binge watch.

About the drama itself, writing is OK but it has a style fit for one-two epi drama special (expected since it comes from a writer who wrote plenty of drama specials) but I think it is the PD work elevated everything which made this drama more worthy to watch.

To be honest, I start to wonder if the writers know how to develop a setup she has already created. It seems she has trouble with moving forward. There is alot of moment when I Think she is going in circle with her character because she has already reveal almost half of her character arc which is not a good think for a character driven drama. She seems don’t trust us enough viewers to figure out character traits and said it to us about what character is thinking, which is make the character less intriguing. I hope my worries is wrong though

This is the type of drama that I think actually makes a better live-watching experiencing than binge-watching. It’s not depressing and is actually quite beautiful, but I binged the first 4 episodes and felt a little exhausted. It’s the type of show that you should take your time with.

Go Back Spouses or Black Knight?

Why is Lee, the father so apologetic about taking Byun Han Soo’s identity in Father is Strange? Also why does the wife ask him to stick to the mistaken identity in the hospital? does it benefit them?

1

I think it was so he could live without being an labelled as a murderer, and I think he felt bad because he knew Han Soo had a son who would assume his dad abandoned him

but it was an accident. i don’t understand why the wife asks him not to resume his identity at the hospital in US?

      3

That’s true I never thought of that, I’m assuming once the lie was told it was easier for them to just continue with it plus without Han Soo alive they probably had no way to stay in the US

Okay, now I finally know why and thankfully it does make sense! I like where this drama is headed! If only they would progress with Mi Yung and Ahn’s romance faster. Though i like all the couples barring the elder brother’s girlfriend who was a bully.

Their romance is the cutest! It’s even better that they are now dating in real life!

Was he actually the one who killed that guy? I thought he just came upon the the guy and called the police and they accused him? I watched it so long ago so I don’t really remember

He didn’t, but he was convicted for it.

Is Another Miss Oh worth watching even with the hour long episodes?

2
10

absolutely, its airtime is the same time with DOTS ending episodes (cmiiw), and somehow it gained recognition too, and a good one

    2
    1

I don’t think it was… and DOTS was on KBS while OHYA was on tvN so they wouldn’t be directly competing anyway.

owh, right… its in my time to streaming it in the same time, after few days its actual airtime. Lol. sorry for the mistake.

Aren’t most drama episodes an hour long?? Lol!

I liked it! Seo Hyun-jin’s character can get a bit… over-the-top, but the leads had excellent chemistry and some of the hottest kisses in dramaland, haha. The female second lead is also one of my favorite second leads by the end. Honestly, the show didn’t leave a HUGE inpression on me, but I remember enjoying it while I watched it.

    1
    2

yes, not leaving huge impression like that MinKi-oppa, but i also enjoyed Miss Oh, yes, and the second lead, oh, sad, but she’s great.

The kisses between Seo Hyun-jin and Eric in OHYA were so electrifying and hot that I felt uncomfortable watching it in public places and almost want to scream at them, “Get a room!” LOL. Man, they knew how to go at it, that’s for sure.

On the other hand, the kisses between Jung So-min and Lee Min-ki in BTLIOF were so sweet and deep (especially those beachside kisses, hoooo man *fans self*) that I also felt like I shouldn’t be watching it, but for slightly different reasons. Like, they were just so open and honest and vulnerable.

Both great kissing pairings, just one was more sexy and one was more sweet. 😘

lee Min Ki was amazing at that beach kiss and when he kisses her in the rooftop room after getting annoyed that she was in Insa-Dong all along! Too hot to handle.
