Because, as of yet, I do not have a favorite drama of the year 2019: I decided to compile up my favorite drama scenes of 2019. In no particular order:

1. Moment at Eighteen: A girl overhears Oh-Je is gay because of Da-Heen. Da-Heen, who had been hurt by Oh-Je immediately cries in apology to him for people exposing his secret because of her. The scene is raw, sudden, heart-breaking, and REAL.
2. Hotel Del Luna: Man Wol sees the reincarnation of her old friend from far who is now a cop. They share a moment staring at each other. (OST plays!) She leaves in tears and he cries too not knowing why.
3. The Light In Your Eyes: mother and son share a moment. Son realizes mom who has always been hard on him has been looking out for him from the start. She, who has alzheimer’s tells her son (without knowing its her son) that she has to make sure he doesn’t slip on the snow. He finds peace knowing she was happiest when she was with him and her husband (Oh gosh tears are filling my eyes)
4. Sky Castle: Ye-Suh confesses to her mother that she is unhappy and wants to set things right. She knows the implications of her future and the mom does too. They both cry and embrace each other in their arms. (That’s my girl, I seriously love Ye-Suh’s character)
5. Extraordinary You: Dan Oh sincerely thanks Haru for the beautiful night sky he crafted for her. Those words feel like deja-vu to Haru who witnessed her saying them on stage to Bae-Kyung in the previous manhwa. He cries out of melancholy and sincere happiness.
6. Be Melodramatic: Han Joo has a hard-hitting conversation with her male coworker friend, Jae-Hoon. Speaking in stead of his ex-girlfriend, she reveals to him that he put too much pressure on her and idealized a relationship, and when it wouldn’t go the way he imagined it, he took it out on her. Jae-Hoon cries.
7. My Fellow Citizens: Jung-Kook was about to denounce his friend the veteran politician. Angry at the betrayal, the veteran politician decides to reveal Jung-Kook’s con but just before doing so, Jung-Kook calls him and cries that he can’t do it even though it’s against his principles. touched by Jung-Kook the politician denounces himself. (and the OST that played!)
8. Beautiful World: Sun Ho affirms to his classmate who is about to commit suicide (and to us) to never give up. Giving up is what the bully wants and her life is worth so much more. Wonderful camera work, OST, and performance by Nam Da-Reum.

This was beautiful. I have hardly seen three dramas from your list but your description transported me back to the scenes. This is a wonderful idea.

That is precisely why I wrote it, I’m so glad you understand the deep meaning behind some of these!

Loved them. I have hardly watched any shows this year but I may write a favorite scenes/moments of this year too. I’ll tag you there since the idea is originally yours.

I have rewatched My Fellow Citizens just five days ago, but why can’t I remember which scene you are referring to? I am sorry that I am such a careless drama watcher.

    Love this.
Last year I posted about little moments I loved from the dramas I watched and was thinking of doing it again.
This is more in depth. That scene from Hotel de Luna was beautifully done.

These scenes are close to my heart even if I didn’t love/or finish all these dramas. I teared up writing them. I can’t wait to see your rendition of it this year! (This was also a way for me to keep track of them because I realize this year I had more of these moments than an actual favorite series).

No 1 is one of my faves from Eighteen, in fact i immediately rewatched the scene when it ended.. Now i’m thinking i should rewatch Melo (so good!) and maybe finish The Light in Your Eyes (dropped cos lack of time n somehow never resumed).

There were so many memorable scenes from Melo (funny and sad i wanted to name but stuck to one). One of the scenes is The dead boyfriend telling our friend to move on and he’s worried that she won’t and she begins to cry. ugh my heart (but Im still glad I stuck to the scene I wrote first). Also, that scene in Eighteen was HANDS down the best. My next favorite would be the female lead confessing to the ML (i forgot their names) she likes him and he slips on his bike down a hill (OST plays!)!!
