Let’s get something straight. Chocolate is horribly cheesy and tropey at times (melo tropes). The writing sometimes feels too expository or fan fictiony. But Episode 12, the ending – that REVEAL- was just everything. THIS is why I kept going (also Lee Jun is way too interesting).
When the show slows down and stops throwing one trauma or tragedy after another at the leads, it’s actually pretty good. Kang…..he better be smiling at the very end of episode 16 or I’m gonna flip a table.
shall we be ready to flip a bigger table if by any chance we dont get a happily smiling Kang by the end…
PS i am loving this drama sooo very much. and epi 11 n 12 were oh so good and those Closeup were everything for me.
Can you explain? I haven’t gone past ep 6 but I think the reveal is about her being that girl who ate at his restaurant? If that is true what is even the big deal about it? Despite all the terrible cheesiness this is what annoyed me the most in Chocolate, making that 5 min event like a big thing. I think heavy melo can be good sometimes, but this is the cheapest heavy melo possible, and still I keep wanting to give it more chances because people say it’s nice. I also like Lee Jun, he was a decent character.
it’s just what you said. i don’t think you need to continue watching because I’ve dropped and picked up this show twenty times already and probably won’t finish it. I fast forward a lot. However, just watch the last 2-3 min of episode 12 and you’ll know what I mean. The reveal was just good.

I love that affirmation «Lee Jun is interesting». Like seriously he carries the show when Kang and FL are not being stupid.

I like how he’s observing everything and everyone. His ultimate rebellion against the family is going to be so satisfying.

Lol. You’re so right. The actors’ performance are carrying it. I think they’re nailing every minute emotion on screen.
The Reveal was really good. I loved that they went back to the place where it all started.
I’m liking Joon’s character transformation too. He’s so different now from what was shown in the beginning.

Probably good advice! I disliked the stories of all secondary characters except Jun.
