It’s like they put all qualities into one person that he becomes too unreal even for a fictional character.

Yes I had the same feeling while watching it!

When, when does this 2nd Male Lead get his heart broken? I need a spoiler. Poor kid. he’s doing sooo much for her and it’s just ep 4!
and I still don’t get what she likes about the Main Guy. His stiff attitude has zero appeal. Nice kid too. zero appeal.

From what I remember she doesn’t really give him a chance but I could have bad memory.

I think the drama did a good job with the ML compared to the Korean drama Playful Kiss which has the same kind of dynamic but bad executed (or I think it’s me who has a problem with it). It shows quite early on that he cares for her in his way so I didn’t feel like she was wasting her time.

However, I didn’t like the leads as individuals but as flawed people they work well together. There are still some points in how they handle their relationship that ticked me off later but it’s still better than Playful Kiss imo.

When I think about the fact that I not only watched the KDrama but also read the manga, I am ashamed. Playful Kiss is straight up a story about a very stupid girl who is obsessively infatuated with a terrible terrible teeerrible man who thinks less of her than a worm. Nothing playful about that relationship, really. Worse: they marry!

Playful Kiss traumatized me for real but I still watched the mini episodes released on YouTube. I must be a masochist 😂 ALSB’s lead couple is nice compared to them but I don’t looove the drama. If I didn’t know PF there’s a high chance I would not like the drama.

I was exactly the same. I didn’t understand the main guys appeal at all! He does redeem himself in the last episode (yes I know! You gotta wait!) The second guy becomes happy too but in another way! Keep on watching 🙂

I agree with @coffeprince4eva–mainly because it’s a bit of a long and complicated answer that will give away too much. Keep on watching.

And yeah. I didn’t like the ML much. Thank the drama gods that Dora came and saved us. 😂

Dora has officially skewed my vision of Male Leads. Dora and Ryan Gold.

To tell you have far these dramas have come–as you may know already but I still really want to say it. Love O2O was considered amazing because it didn’t have the typical brake-up and misunderstandings of K-Dramas of the time. In hindsight, it was very lacking. A Love So Beautiful came along and became another drama that wasn’t annoying as hell, but it too had it’s issues. I don’t see myself having much of any hindsight issues with PYHOMS.
