Just finished Pachinko. I loved the writing style, every word was intentional. I highly recommend this book.

    I read this last year. I found it an interesting book because of how it introduced (what was to me) a completely alien – but real – sub-culture to an English-speaking audience. I found the saga form just about okay, having read much better versions (e.g., Galsworthy’s Forsyte books), but it was a fresh piece of writing overall, I agree. I lent my copy to and recommended this to many friends, who all loved it!

    Re-started season 1. OMG it was one of the earliest kdramas I watched, and I had no idea how subtle and finely made it was. Cho Seung-woo is a stunning actor.

    I love these two actors! I should watch this asap.

    Have you seen Swing Time, with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers? A bit earlier (1930s) but their dancing is superb.

Just watched The Host (2006) by Bong Joon-Ho. He is a genius!

I would describe this film as COVID-19 meets Jurassic Park. I recommend this film if you are a Bong Joon-Ho fan.

    This movie doesn’t age a bit despite made 14 years ago – in fact, even more eerily relevant to our current world. I love how the dysfunctional family unite to save the day. My favorite BJH movie and the shining stellar cast – and the little girl Go Ah-sung is now a shining lead on her own.

    A movie that can be rewatched all the time and still feels fresh.
