Beanie level: Entertainer-in-training

TharnType made a very special episode.
You can only imagine the wrath I have brought down upon it

When will the writers of Never Twice realise the only thing we want is 50 episodes of this?

they have been promoting this aggressively across dramas since last 1.5 years.. laser technique for wrinkle arrest..

leading ladies use these light face masks or light rollers.. this one here is using for neck..

But i have to say this.. i absolutely love this lady in her roles.. 1) she is the cutest thing ever 2) she makes even weirdest clothes look so nice 3) NOBODY can carry baby pink and glittery stuff as she does 4) and darn!..she is cute 5) Born to play rich spoilt madam of a chaebol family.. she has it in her.. so inherent

she will make even a homeless old ajuma role look glamourous

The day dawns bright but cool.
The smoke has blown away for now. The fires rage on but here it’s calm and the sun pokes gently through dappled leaves on evergreen gums rather than searing through strange skies of orange haze.
I cook breakfast and hug a cup of fresh hot tea curled up on the couch while the dawn turns into morn and it’s time to face the day.
I shower and change and laziness loses to the sweet summer air, the cool welcome breeze.
I walk to the tram; racing across the road in the last few feet, red light blinking, to jump on as it slides to a stop, pauses, then slides off into Tuesday with me on board.
I hop off and step quickly into a cafe. Hot and bitter served by a barista hot and sweet.
He brings it to my table himself, his hipster glasses and professional indifference framing his Korean Indie singer look.
I take a sip and pull out my notebook, the minutes ticking down slowly till my bus leaves and I’m due at work.
I pull out a pen.
I write.
It feels normal.
It is normal.
I take a deep clean breath of air and think
Maybe I can

My favourite word, my favourite smell, my favourite feeling.
Petrichor.
The breaking of the drought.
The soft rain falling on the hard dirt.
Both literally and figuratively
the smell of renewal, rebirth, of life.
Petrichor.
Now gone.
The drought continues.
The rain doesn’t come.
The trees and flowers shrivel and die and
Petrichor is nothing but a distant memory
of vibrant life
Petrichor is gone
both literally and figuratively.
Everything is dying
The water dries up
The dirt dries out
The world burns
Koalas scream and
firefighters cry
The only smell is dust and smoke and ash
It’s no wonder I’m struggling to
Love,
February

I just started this today – I was waiting for it to air most of the way before committing. I’ve been burned too many times by Taiwanese dramas. But even one episode in and I’m thoroughly intrigued and even though I have pretty much no idea what it’s about, but the acting and writing are very compelling and the only thing preventing me from bingeing it is that stupid little inconvenience called work.

I am so glad I started it. The acting is top notch! I teared up just watching her grieve! Also glad that I went in blind without even checking the synopsis. Can wait to catch up on ep 2

I watched it one day some day and I don’t know which timeline it was in or was it in every one, should be in every one.

I had a really bad day last year.
Well, to be honest I\’ve had several over the last few months.
My Mum, my Dad, myself, the world.
All seemingly breaking down around me and I lost the will to fight anymore.
I tried to get up, tried to call out, tried to get out, but instead I cried and yelled and snarled at people on the internet and then I complained, loudly, to Beanies about my mental health.
I fired up discord and found a notification. Two. Three. Seven. Ten.
What was happening?
The maknae line had decided to cheer me up through random silliness.
Tagging me into every channel on discord; while the confused denizens of those discussions greeted me with bemusement.
“Just dropping her off here”, these comments said, as I was tagged into channels on kpop bands and other places I normally never went to.
As one did, so others joined in.
“My turn to tag her!”, the next one said as I got dropped off somewhere else.
And I sat there in my living room, my computer on my lap lighting up with notification after notification, I looked at their glorious crazy.
And I laughed.
Thank you, Beans
Love, February

Was that life? Well then, once more!
Is a curse greater than \’May you live in interesting times\’.
We\’re stuck in Nietzsche\’s eternal recurrence.
Life on a loop, the same great curses repeating.
Will we break free in time or will we simply spiral down
Collapsing into nothing
Turtles
All the way down
I wish I could Love,

The Game: The Mesmerstare Repository

The Game is everything I wanted from a Taecyeon drama.
Hilariously overwrought, ridiculous supernatural premise, weird intense looks between him and his female lead.
Taecyeon somehow manages to both under and over act at the same time. But in his usual charming and appealing way.
It\’s the best/worst thing and exactly what I was in the mood for.

Was he in the middle of car hanky panky that he’s caught undressed? Or was it one of those stakeout change moments 😂

As far as I can tell he took off his shirt for literally no reason.
I think he was changing or something from his hospital gown into a shirt.

He was involved in a gun shooting that he saw previously. He was shoot, so he was covered in blood. But he came equipped with bullet proof vest and a change of clothes.

Hmmm so it kind of makes sense, but then why is she pointing a gun at him? Is she from another division or something?

She is a police officer coming to investigate a gangwar that he was a part of. She didn’t know who was inside the van.
Don’t ask me why he’s in a gangwar. I was half asleep during that episode. Lol

He got kidnapped by the head of one of the gangs because he read his death for his mother who then told him about it. He knew it would happen so prepared.

But Taec’s hot & shirtless so yay?

            0

Lol. She is a detective. He is not. He is just a rich dude who can see people’s death when he looks into their eyes. So he looked into a gang boss’ eyes and knew how he would die and told his mom. Mom told mob boss and he ain’t happy, so he kidnapped rich dude.

@msrabbit yeah I’m glad I’m not watching this. Rich guy running around berserk with an irresponsible meddlesome family?
            He’s hot…
That’s going to be my excuse for everything.
            *sighs*

Question: What is the difference between a Candy and Pot Plant?

For helpful reference, I have pulled out my answer and it is below for comment, queries, questions, arguments but not ad hominens hopefully.

There is a Venn diagram of Pot Plants (female leads without agency) and Candys (impoverished and the victim of injustice but nonetheless plucky, hardworking, cheerful, and moral) where we find the Candy/Pot Plant overlap – impoverished and the victim of injustice but nonetheless plucky, hardworking, cheerful, and moral AND without any agency. This is the sweet spot at which traditional notions of karmic justice come into play. Candy doesn’t need to do anything to get her happy ending. She just has to endure cheerfully while the Universe rights itself around her.
While it is possible to get Candys who aren’t Pot Plants and Pot Plant who aren’t Candys, the Venn diagram overlap is extremely large, encompassing most traditional Candys. She is beautiful in her martydom as she sits quietly and uncomplainingly waiting to be saved.

They couldn’t let us say goodbye without one final obvious nod to the gay love story that Heirs was really about: the love triangle between Hyo-shin, Yeong-do and Tan. But it’s good that Hyo-shin was finally able to move on while in the Army, while Yeong-do resigned himself to Tan’s disinterest, and Tan stopped feeling the need to aggressively assert his heterosexuality in Yeong-do’s presence.

I hope that Hyo-shin’s new career in stories about “military romance” serve him well. He can then go on to write an autobiographical tale about his own unrequited love story.

And call it Heirs.

That daydream just genuinely made me sad that we couldn’t have experienced something like it. “Oh, don’t worry,” Heirs says, “We’ll allude to wrapping up the conflicts of our story off-screen, someday.”

Like everyone in Heirs I have both won and lost. I have won by finishing the show but have lost by watching the show. It’s true that winning is losing and losing is winning. I’ve learned so much about give and take. It’s been a profound experience, a true chalk outline on the ground. Adieu.

Me realising I have four episodes of Heirs left to watch

17

I\’m not going to screencap the kiss in episode 16 of Heirs. It was completely non-consensual and I don\’t feel comfortable with it. Suffice it to say: it happened, it\’s wrong and should never happen again. No actor should be blindsided by their director or their male lead and after watching this I feel a lot of sympathy for Park Shin-hye and her obvious ongoing discomfort with romantic scenes and kiss scenes. I don’t know why Korean directors and audiences continue to feel comfortable with women looking upset and scared during scenes that are supposed to be romantic. If you’re upset, uncomfortable, crying or scared then it is not okay and it is not something you should have to endure.

Kissing’s awesome. It’s fun. It should be fun. And I hope that we continue to move past this idea that it’s okay to portray sexual assault as romantic. It’s not.

This was very common back then but things have become way better now, at least in kdramaland.

    2
    2

True, I haven’t seen an unhappy kiss scene in years. All of the romcoms I liked this year (you know, all four of them) were consensual and lovely and some were even more happy than dramatic. Poor Park Shin-hye, though, closer the worst show she could have been a part of last year.

Yes, they seem to have moved on from that, Heirs was already an old fashioned drama even when it aired. In the past this was a stupid way to say the FL was so innocent and pure that even if she liked the ML, she just had to act as if, or feel, that first kiss as a strange event. Even if she was thirty years old and gorgeous. I know, ridiculous kkk.
