Beanie level: Jang Geu-rae

One of their cutest scenes ever. She was unknowingly tricked into getting drunk on magical fruits and confessing her love.

I looked back at MyDramalList Top Dramas and as of now, it ranked as follows:

1. Signal 9.2
2. Nirvana in Fire 9.2
3. 1 Litre of Tears 9.1
4. Eternal Love 9.1
5. Goblin 9.1
6. Forest of Secrets 9.0
8. Weightlifting Fairy Kim ok Joo 9.0
9. Because This Is our First Life 9.0

Below 9, at 8.9/10

Avengers Social Club, Dear My Friends, Healer, Age of Youth 2, Reply 1988, Chicago Typewriter, Six Flying Dragons, and many more etc.

So Eternal Love is not only the highest rated drama of 2017 like I said in my previous post, but one of the highest rated ever!

And a nother unpopular opinion but I loved this couple and found feng jiu’s immature love very relatable.

Also, don’t sleep on Nirvana in Fire. One of the most epic dramas ever. Even Eternal Love has some fluff guilty pleasure factor but Nirvana in Fire is pure pure quality.

I literally haven’t seen a single bad review for Nirvana on Fire from anyone who finished the drama.

I say from anyone who finished the drama because the large cast of characters can confuse people in the beginning. I watched the drama with the aid of Wikipedia myself to keep up with whom was whom but the investment was 500% worth it.

NIF is just on a different level..though I have watched too few CDramas.

Lots of Chinese Dramas except for 20 or so classics are technically mediocre in production value, and awful in writing. Their strengths despite those weaknesses are strong portrayal of memorable relationships. But it’s been getting better and better in recent years, with more and more dramas where the weaknesses are disappearing, which makes for epically emotional dramas.

Yes,I think it’s a definite mark of Cdramas, good portrayal of strong relationships. I haven’t watched that much Cdramas and I’m not that fond of them.maybe I’m too used to how Korean sounds.

Hmmm. Minority opinion but I will need some time before I can rejoice about Mulan. I love her but I still haven’t gotten over the Peach Blossom movie abomination. The fault was mainly with the directing, editing and writing, but I can’t get over how my favorite drama of 2017 (and mydramalist ratings agree with me) got butchered on the silver screen. It hurt even more given how I have an enormous soft spot for Liu Yi Fei and a rather big one for Yang Yang. Maybe Mark Chao and Yang Mi were too perfect, despite not having a soft spot for either of them.

Totally agree with you. I don’t think I even finished the movie. The storyline just went so fast. And for people who have not watched the drama, I think they would have been lost watching the movie. I was so excited for the movie to come out namely for Yang Yang.

More than the plot, people unfamiliar with the drama would have lost any emotional connection to the story. I knew their love and I still felt emotionally disconnected, it was too focused on style and too theatrical. I loved Yang Yang in love o2o and I believe he tried to emote as much as he could in Peach Blossom but that couldn’t make up for bad writing and editing.

I got so excited for that movie, and I liked the drama so much,it’s the only 2nd Cdrama in my top list.

Plus I unexplainably like Yang Yang but I wasn’t able to finish the movie

I finished the movie hoping desperately against hope that any minute, I would be able to fall in love with it like I did with the drama. It left me so traumatized I sat through the entire credit roll stunned, still hoping in my stupor that by the end of the credits, I would miraculously love it.
Yang yang has a good smirk. That should explain some of it 😉

I adored Eternal Love/Ten Miles of Peach blossom drama. Every episode was a winner for me and I was interested in all the characters. Mark Chao and Yang Mi embodied the characters so well that I was anxious about the movie. I’ve been holding off waiting for reviews like yours to know what to do. Thank you!

This is his best song and also the best version of the song! I really believe he could just sit still and do nothing and I would still love him! <3
