I don’t like to be pessimistic before a show airs but I’m not feeling Crash Landing On You. I will watch for SYJ and my expectations are practically non existent.
I have no expectations with that one. Seems like second DOTS to me and I know it will be popular even if not good. But Seo Ji Hye my gurll is in here. She’ll ace this as well as Kim JH.
Yeah, I feel like it will be DOTS 2.0 too. I remember watching it for Song Hye Kyo haha It will be a great exposure for the cast so that should be good for their career.
I feel like Son Ye Jin will be a loved actress through and through if someone managed to love her in “Pretty Noona…” but if you hated that one, then it’s pretty much screwed up you love for her— at least it’s where I am right now with Son Ye Jin…. She was just so lifeless in “Pretty Noona…” — actually, I can think of other things she was pretty lifeless in, too 😰😰
Her character in Pretty Moons didn’t bother me. i like her movies so much more. She chooses better plot and character than for dramas. So, I usually take her drama appearance as a chance to see her longer than usual.
I think the crew and cast know that this is not to be taken seriously. It really is supposed to be ridiculous and over the top, based on the synopsis I read and the very first teaser I saw.
So that’s how I’ll treat this drama. Even with that, I’ll still probably drop it midway. 🙂
Yeah that is true, the trailer where she was hopping across a minefield was odd. I think it would be good if she was a double agent, I hope there is a good twist. On the premise alone, I ‘m not sure why Hyun bin and Ye jin have signed up.
Just from the plot, the trailers I’ve seen and the posters, I’m 100% sure it is going to be a hot mess!! I hope I eat my words. I might check it out but I have zero expectations.
I watched the war movie The Battle of Jangsari directed by Kwak Kyung Taek and Kim Tae Hoon. It’s about a group of young soldiers sent to Jangsari beach to distract North Korean forces from Incheon. So, it’s a staged operation that will obviously cost the lifes of lots of soldiers. Simultaneously, we follow an American reporter who wants to make this situation in Korea known.
If you’ve ever seen Kwak Kyung Taek’s previous movies – Friend is the most famous – you will recognize his portrayal of friendship, loyalty and emotions. Since it’s about war and based on a true story, there’s a lot of emphasis on the soldiers and how they deal with the current danger. The movie is a hommage to them who are forgotten heroes (it’s even in the original movie title) and the part with the reporter accentuated this aspect. Even if some scenes went too into emotional and dramatic mode for my taste – it actually goes for many Korean dramas and movies – it’s a movie worth to watch with a solid performance from the whole cast.
Lee Jae Wook aka puppy of the year and Kim Sung Cheol aka puppy jailbird of 2018 are also in it too. Watched it for them and left in awe of the story and puffy eyes from crying so much 😭😭
I am too 😀 When his casting was announced, I thought of seeing him and Hugh Jackman on screen. Then I remembered Jackman stopped playing Wolverine *cries in a corner*
Train To Busan’s director is working on a new movie as a scenarist. The plot sounds really interesting and the acting for the three leads is of high quality.
Hirose Suzu (main actress in Chiharafuyu) will be busy at the beginning of the year with the comedy Not Quite Dead Yet (in March) and romance Last Letter (in January).
When I wished for Kang So Ra to take on a new project, I wasn’t expecting to see her in this kind of movie. Secret Zoo takes place in a zoo where employees pretend to be animals. What the hell 😂😂😂
Ma Sichun and Wallace Huo reunited in a movie after Love Me If You Dare ♥️♥️ A daughter doesn’t have a good relationship with her mother and learns about her past. Ma and Huo play the young version.
It is unexpected but when you think about it his looks scream SM style.
The main actress of Where The Lost Ones Go and Walk Into Your Memory (Cecilia Boey is her name I think) used to be a JYP trainee. Connections to South Korea pop up unexpectedly.
Zhao Zhiwei is busy filming. His most interesting upcoming drama is Hotel Interns. The title tells everything. Interns come to a hotel and they learn about work and life.
Nai He Boss You Ru He (What If You’re My Boss, literal translation on mydramalist) is about a romance between a cold boss and his capable assistant. I don’t know if Zaho Zhiwei will make me watch it.
Zhao Zhiwei/Eden Zhao (Big Bro in Le Coup de Foudre) and Xuan Lu (The Untamed) are the leads of a romance drama. It’s apparently Well Intended Love’s sister drama. Should I already be worried…?
Yang Joon Il was a Korean American singer back in the 90s and appeared on Sugar Man 3. He recently received attention for his song “Rebecca”, ahead of its time, and he reminds lots of people of GD.

The drama follows Akari, a café manager, who went viral on the internet for apologizing to a customer. That’s the start of the café’s exploding popularity and with that, the Akari’s secret could be endangered: she posts videos of her releasing stress wearing a demon mask. Something that’s the exact opposite of her smiling face. She forces herself to smile and her family puts on a show every time her grandpa visits them. With an indifferent family, her secret hobby and an overwhelming popularity, she has to navigate between all of this in a short amount of time. It’s a family drama with a focus on social media and its consequences on real life. It’s quite light, even if later episodes with the focus on the family (I love grandpa!) get more serious. Not only Akari but her parents and brother are exposed to the internet because of their actions not directly involved with her. It’s a good way to have different approaches to social media and how people use them, both in a positive and negative perspective. The drama did good in mixing both themes because one is about virtual social life and the other is about family relationship in real life. They somehow get intervened and there’s an interesting development for Akari’s family. Of course, she has her own growth in accepting who she is and showing her true feelings.
