It\’s the writer I\’m worried about. And the humor

But the leads for Mr Queen are so promising. They will give it their all.

Currently lowering my expectations for Mr Queen. That way I don\’t get massively disappointed if they mess up one of my favourite cdramas

Seeing all this Start Up drama makes me wish I had watched it from the beginning. Major FOMO

same, but I’m also waiting to see how it turns out before I decide if I want to watch it 😆

You can still watch before the finale 🌚

I’ve been watching the drama and skipping most of the comment section drama. If you like the actor Kim Sun Ho it’s a much watch. He’s been amazing in this one even though I believe his role is second lead.

Missing: the Other Side is a massive tear fest. I don\’t know what I was expecting tbh

So this law obviously doesn’t exist in any other kdrama

8

I think it depends what the HIPAA laws are of that country, or if that country has HIPAA laws and policies at all

    1
    1

I’m just surprised that Korea has the same sort of law. You wouldn’t know by the way kdrama doctors go about telling all and sundry everything about their patients.

      1
      1

Same sort of law, but probably not very strong 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ Seeing how, if you’re an artist of the Kpop world, your agency has to know EVERYTHING—quite literally—about you, and certain details of an artist is very easily found out from so called “fans”…. The first thing that comes to mind is the itinerary of an artist flying in or out of town for scheduled events that “fans” so easily find out about which then make them feel like they can flood the airport and not give a rats butt about safety or consideration for the other 100,000 people who are not public figures who are also flying in and out of town

This movie…This movie was not great. Has anyone seen it? I really wasn’t expecting that sex/death scene at all. It was the cherry on a pretty terrible sundae

This film made me feel very intense feelings. A true classic

I loved that film and watched as many of that director’s films I could. Did you see Red Sorghum? Incredibly powerful and sad film.
These are the shows that got me started with Chinese films back in the 90’s and I never stopped.

I just finished Red Sorghum but I have to confess i didn’t understand half of it and didn’t enjoy it half as much. I’m making my rounds of Zhang Yimu’s work though and I just love his use of colour and space

Yes it was an intense film and not the happiest – but like you I was amazed and rapt at his use of color as well.
Other films of his that I’ve loved are:
        Not One Less
        The Road Home
        The House of Flying Daggers.
His films are epic and vast. But I LOVED the Road Home and Not One Less.
Both are sweet and loving and simple and take place in small villages out in the middle of nowhere.
Those two are my favorite ones of that director.

oh I loved House of Flying Daggers(!Takeshi Kaneshiro!) and Raise the Red Lantern

I think I watched that one. There was a time when I would go to the video store and look through the section of Chinese video tapes.
          Hah – remember VHS tapes?

I bought them for far longer than I should have. I got Shanghai Traid in the reduced bin in my old grocery store😁

This has smashed the limit of work wear. I’m officially done.

I once worked in a retail establishment with a coworker who dressed similar to this. This establishment now has employees where polo shirt with the company logo and black pants.

What on earth are you watching btw?

How did they get away with it??? It’s the Brightest Star in the Sky. The romance is slow, the characters get on my last nerve but I’m somehow very engaged.

This was long long ago, it was a male dominated company, and honestly, and oh wow do I hate remembering this, but she didn’t alway wear anything underneath.

The writers and the directing might be justifying it because the workplace is an entertainment agency where fashion and image is everything, but yea, I get what you mean and where you’re coming from

There’s casual and there’s whatever this is. I know c and k dramas flout the rules a lot but this goes beyond the pale.
