Beanie level: Loan shark with a heart of gold

I wanted to watch more of Kim Tae-ri so I finally watched Mr. Sunshine.

I knew who the main cast was but the side characters? It’s like everyone has gathered here.

Through the Darkness ep9:

So glad we have Captain Kook beside Ha-young bcs that was damn scary on what he did in the park and what he’s going through right now.

The power of PPL. Yoorim has bad tastes, it doesn’t taste good. If only I can buy the banana milk, which I have not found outside of SK, unless it’s in a carton box-ish version.

Day 14

I rarely finish what I start, unless of course, it’s a wonderful drama 😅 As of writing, I have a 40% unfinished cross-stitch project, 35% 1000pcs jigsaw puzzle, 3 unfinished coursera courses, probably 20 dramas put on hold that I promised to come back to and a series of IG stories of how today went (wanted to make a day vlog sort of thing but now I’m not sure I want to finish it). Anyways, short story, I easily get distracted and don’t commit to tasks till the end.

But for some odd reason, which I still don’t know why, I wanted to start and finish Love, February. I’m not a good writer nor do I have anything interesting to share as what my entries tell 😅 but I wanted to challenge myself. This is not graded but I’m patting myself in the back for finishing this. I doubt I’d be able to do this again though.

Thank you for tolerating all my nonsense for the past two weeks, Beanies. As always, you’re all awesome!

Day 13

I hadn’t realize it till today that it has been 18 years or probably more since I celebrated my sister’s birthday together with her. We’re just watching the Winter Olympics – Ice Hockey on a rainy morning. Happy Birthday Big Sis!

Also, happiest birthday to @greenfields! Hope you’ll have a lovely day!

Day 10

Living alone can be pretty sad especially when it comes to meals. Aside from mostly eating ready-made meals or instant food, you don’t have anyone to converse with. That’s why I’m really grateful towards my cousin. I haven’t seen her in more than 10 years and yet, she welcomed me and cooked delicious food. Added bonus? Their coffee is great!

Thankful to all the extended family that have made me feel at home despite being a thousand miles away from home.

Day 9

I love learning new languages but now that I have to learn one because it\’s necessary, I\’m starting to doubt that.

Love, February

    Which one are you learning?

I’m very bad at learning languages because of my dysphasia, so I’m kinda jealous of people who can speak different languages.

German TT__TT I don’t even call it learning yet since I haven’t really dived myself into it.

Oh, as a Swiss person, I understand your problem!

In Switzerland, we learn German at school but people speak Swiss German, a dialect, so we don’t really understand everything when they talk (it depends on the regions). In summary, I speak English when I go in the German part :p

        Kopf hoch!

German variety is crazy 🤯 A long time ago I spent a year in Austria and conversations used to fly over my head 🚀😶 Long story short, most of my friends were other foreigners who were also stuck speaking school German 😂

Ohmy. And I have never learned any EU languages in my life though Spanish is pretty close to my native language but that’s thanks (?) to colonisation 😅

So yes, it is a big problem 😂😂

          0

I know the feeling, if it feels compulsory it just becomes no fun. Instead of getting my mind set on improving my skills on the local official language (there’s two, and this one I use mainly at work), I only feel like learning Korean instead 😂

I have a similar experience. 😂 I thought learning languages was easy until I actually tried to. Since I learned English from tv I thought I could do the same with Korean but here I am, 10 years later and nothing.

Two years ago I have a (pseudo) conversation in Korean with a Korean person and she told me I was good, then I tried watching dramas raw and I only understood like 40% of the episodes and my sister told me that Koreans say that to everyone (that you’re good at korean) 😭

    1
    2

Understanding 40% raw is quite impressive! Subtitles and K-pop songs being sprinkled with English kind of trick my brain into believing that I understand Korean, but the harsh reality catches up with me every time I’m watching something on Viki and chunks of the episode aren’t subtitled yet 😂

      1

That’s how I’ve learned English, Korean and Japanese and hopefully Mandarin. But with German, aside from it being a necessity now, the series/shows they offer aren’t as varied(?) or probably just not my taste so it’s a little bit difficult.

Understanding 40% ain’t bad. Give it a few more years and it’ll definitely increase!

Have you tried movies (do you like movies)?

Maybe you can find a director/writer you like or maybe you’ll like the way Germans do an specific genre/movement.

I don’t know anything about Canadian cinema but I like the director Xavier Dolan a lot.

And I’m not interested in cdramas but I love chinese movies (slice of life/action-comedy).

I found this list on letterbox: https://boxd.it/aywEG

        I hope it helps!

Day 5

I wanted to go back to reading and was able to read 12 books last year (yay). Goal for this year is to read 12+ books. So far I’ve only read 1, a little behind on sched but I went to the bookstore today and bought 5 books!

Here’s to hoping I get to achieve this goal and more.

I don’t like going to the beach on a VERY hot day, which is almost everyday in where I lived. But sunsets/sunrises/moonrise/moonset on the beach are one of the best I’ve seen.
