@noobita,
Feel free to give it a try. But I have to warn you: I’m useless for Korean music aside from OSTs that I look up on YouTube with the help of DramaWiki. If it’s music with English lyrics, especially American pop, rock, and blues up until about 1990 (except for rap!), there’s a good chance I’ll be able to recognize it. Instrumentals are hit or miss — I may recognize them, but never heard the titles. I like classical music but am not very knowledgeable.
Thanks for asking. 😉 Here’s a thought: post your queries on Open Thread and tag me. That way, even if I can’t identify a piece, maybe another Beanie can. The more, the merrier. 😉
Thank you😊. I’ve been looking for this instrumental for so long (years). It’s in Hogu’s Love ep 7 around 29:35 (timestamp) where Kang-chul was tying Ho-kyung’s shoelaces and she suddenly kissed him. I’m pretty sure it’s called Romance/ Amour (as heard in Autumn in My Heart in guitar version) but this version is more like a music box/lullaby version? That’s it.
@noobita, I watched the scene a couple of times, but it doesn’t ring a bell.
The information in English on the HOGU’S LOVE OST is pretty skimpy. I wasn’t able find out who the music director was, nor the composer of incidental music.
No, no, it’s okay, this is very helpful. And yes, i’m so frustrated with the lack of info about the OST and music director etc. Thank you so much! And sorry for troubling you!
I’ve noticed that certain dramas, especially older ones in the early 2000s, have barebones OSTs while others, presumably with larger budgets, go all out on their music and even issue albums of the instrumental tracks. I guess it all depends on money, staff, and perhaps popularity of the show. DramaWiki often has links from a show’s main page to one entirely devoted to its OST. It’s sometimes surprising which shows are not covered.
Wikipedia entries are highly variable. Some include detailed information on OSTs and incidental music, while others are devoid of it.
Sometimes HanCinema includes information on production staff, including music directors. (It often identifies bit parts and their actors who are missing from AsianWiki and DramaWiki.) IMDB sometimes includes Kdramas as well as Korean movies.
You’re most welcome. I should have also mentioned that I first try YouTube. If a song has English lyrics, I try an internet search on them — with and without the term “lyrics,” and have succeeded in tracking down a lot of background music that way. Often the vocals are nearly impossible to hear, however.
I suspect that the information might be online in Korean, but that doesn’t do us much good. And it doesn’t appear that the incidental music was released.

@pakalanapikake, is it okay if I ask you to identify music background used in kdrama?

Your pointer to AUTUMN IN MY HEART led me to these links:

Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful. 😉
