That’s also why some women refrain from doubting their husbands, they trust them. But I also think women are more loyal.

Sent these to my fiancé and he retorted that our love story isn’t a drama 😂

😂 I relate rl with dramas a lot too that people have to remind me that’s not how it works in real life.
But this dialogue is such a tired excuse. I’ll also have to say that there are faithful men too. And I’m not watching the show but the ones who do wrong use their instincts as an excuse so that they can just claim it isn’t in their control anyway, the whole boys will be boys thing which actually degrades men and gives them an excuse to not take any responsibility.

    4
    1

I know. I think society already accepts the fact that men, by nature, is polygamous. Which is why more and more men think it’s okay to cheat.

Such a boring excuse. It’s plainly lack of self discipline and lack of respect for your partner. Nothing more & nothing less.
What’s very ironic is that women do cheat a lot – well, Nigerian women. Durex conducted a survey back in 2012, I think, and it was revealed that Nigerian women were the most unfaithful women. And I’m Nigerian myself but for the longest time, I thought Nigerian men were the scum of the scum. (I know it’s not all men but quite a large percentage of them share the above post’ sentiment 🙄). But then, I found out that quite a lot of men end up raising kids that they didn’t birth. No, not intentionally but because their wives cheated. I have way too many anecdotes involving paternity tests that reveal a kid or 2 out of 3 aren’t his kids. The craziest? All 4 kids! Yes, you heard right! All 4 kids aren’t his. And it’s not just one situation.
I used to be so defending of Nigerian mothers and women but with that revelation (and other things), I realized that a lot of people in the dating/marriage pool in Nigeria are scum. It’s best to leave them to their devices! They understand their scuminess.

I really dislike Korean logic on men & women. The idea that all men have this uncontrollable instinct is nonsense that sounds like it’s from the 1800s.

LOLed at the episode descriptions of Pride and Prejudice. Not bad considering Pride and Prejudice is also my favorite Austen novel. 😂

I added Pride and Prejudice (kdrama) to my already long list of what I’m currently watching. I’m done with the first ep and I like it! 🥰

This is an exaggeration for many but watching dramas makes me happy, like happy, happy. I go to sleep smiling and wake up excited. I randomly smile while remembering certain scenes. I am more motivated because I get to reward myself with dramas. Is this still normal? Is there something wrong with me? Do I need help?

30
23

Nah. You’re totally fine. I am the same way. It’s something to look forward to which is an essential thing for human beings. It kept me going during tough days at work because I know I’ll get to watch dramas when I get home. I get out of bed in the morning because I know the new episode will be available for me to watch.

If it makes you happy (as long as it’s not ilegal and won’t hurt others), you don’t have to worry about it.^^

    8
    1

Thank you for your kind words. A few friends told me that there is more to life than dramas and that I shouldn’t invest too much of my time with this since I’m in my 30s already.

      1
      4

🤦‍♀️ I hate when people limit others based on their age like wtf? Seems like you need to do Spring Cleaning and remove some friends you don’t need lol.

Say you gave up your hobbies because “you’re too old for that”, are you hust going to live your life miserably? Choose to be happy instead!

        7
        1

A lot of people think I have no life outside dramas. I’m a very sociable person but once I get hooked on something, I tend to forget everything which is supposedly bad for women over 30.

          1
          1

Lol maybe women over 30 should mind their own business. Ypu do you~~

            0
            0

Eh? While I do think I have lesser outdoor hobbies but watching dramas is a hobbie too and there’s nothing wrong with that and no age limit to that. People don’t say the same for books then why dramas? Also it’s completely normal, I love dramas and look forward to them as at times they can be your only relaxation.

        5
        1

That’s why I feel like I shouldn’t express my hobby too much because I get judged for it.

          2
          0

I get you. I’m super discreet about dramalove because I’m afraid of being judged too… its nobody’s business anyway. But I’m not giving up on something that doesn’t harm anybody and makes me happy

        7
        2

I know that they mean well but with this pandemic (Japan didn’t do lockdown), I feel better just staying indoors and watching.

          2
          0

In Spain if you say “Korean Drama” you get that look, like if you were insane.
I was videochatting yesterday with some friends and when I talked about my Viki subscription, they didn’t quite understand it… “Korean, you say???” 😅😅😅

          2
          0

You invest your time in what makes you happy.
You’ve just said dramas make you happy, so it’s perfect.
You’re never too old to be happy.
And there’s not a “right way” of being happy (as long as it doesn’t hurt others).
Why is it better reading a book that watching dramas? Or play videogames? Or knitting? Or cooking?
        Be happy, and beanie on!!

        0

I think it’s true for all the Beanies^.^
We spend our time here reading and writing about dramas we love and consider this site as our home. That shows how much kdramas mean to us!
If being happy because of kdramas isn’t normal, then we need help from someone out of here cuz we are all on the same ship:))

    9
    1

That’s why I honestly feel safer here. I used to express too much on Twitter but I was muted because a lot can’t relate.

      4

    Awww~ it’s okay. Being happy is good~ 🥳

    4
    1

I find myself being like that these past few days!

    5
    1

Same here! I take it that it’s fair enough if we take whatever gives us happiness these days… For me, it’s healing. It helps put my mind away from worries, and sometimes all I really need is a good cathartic cry. But dramaland is addictive, and sometimes I need to check myself and find balance again, because too much of it isn’t good for me either. I guess that as long as it doesn’t take away time from real life relationships and experiences, it’s ok!

    6
    1

I’ve been working abroad for 4 years and I have trained myself to suppress my tears. I just get relief from watching drama. I feel better after crying over them. Thank you!

      4
      2

Sometimes all we need is a good cry. Yesterday watched ep 10 of When the weather, and totally related to Eunseob’s mom crying while watching a drams. I guess that sometimes for me it’s just easier to cry about dramapeople than about my own stuff

Living through the current stuff away from your people is hard, no matter if a lockdown was declared or not. Hang in there! (*hug)

This is me everytime a crack drama bites me. It’s all I think about. Drama has always been my escape when reality gets too hard to bear. And why not reward ourselves with drama binging? We deserve it afterall for going through another tough day. 😬

Aaaaah, Hospital Playlist. It’s good not to have a ship. 😍

Why is there a ship? I don’t want Any ship. If there is a ship I want all of them in it 🙂
    Don’t make me ship.
Yet to catch up episode 3/4!

Songhwa x Junwan has a lot of fans so the third ep shook their ship.

My favorite thing today has been reading heartbroken comments of Songhwa x Junwan shippers

I didn’t know so many people shipped them!! Clearly noone learnt their lesson with Shin PD’s last dramas 😉

        1

I didn’t know a lot of people shipped them too! I mean I was okay if they were endgame – I liked that Joon Wan defended her from her last BF, and when they were fighting about it at dinner. But I wasn’t totally disappointed when the latest ep came out 😎

    How do we do this?

    1

Maybe we can do it the same way we’ll do it with Ahjumma April: just start the posts with the tag #6WSC or #6wordstory? I feel like tagging people gets a bit overwhelming, and most of the people who take part in this kind of stuff just check the Beaniewall everyday anyway

Omg. This is awesome! Hope I can commit. lol

I regret watching Skate Into Love BEFORE The World of the Married. That latter left a sharp pain in my heart. Skate Into Love would’ve made it better.
