I don’t know particularly about how bad is Korean CSAT but South Asia has a tough education system too. As much as I know, China’s college admission system is tough too. I’m glad that they are highlighting it themselves that they need to change it.
It wasn’t even half that hard in my country (Philippines) to get admitted in top colleges (because our education system sucks, you only have to pass entrance exams for your college of choice, and we don’t have CSAT for crying out loud). I believe it is the cutthroat system that makes Korean college admission even tougher, but since I am not familiar with the system in other countries, I can’t say that admissions are only tough in Korea, as that may not always be the case.
