#MOA FINALE #MotherofShitposts aka the Queen of Rants is backโ€ฆ

HOLY CHEEZITS AND SUBWWAY WHERE DO I EVEN START.
First, some calming breathsโ€ฆ IN two three four five six seven OUT two three four five six seven IN two three four five six seven.

— First my actual live reaction, with aftermath edits —-

Last Episode: Starts
Sic: If this is JW dying at the start and just has the rest of it showing HJ crying… Oooh buddy. (OH WAIT IT WAS. INFINITE SINS.)
Ten bucks he dies (HE DIDNโ€™T BUT HE MIGHT AS WELL HAVe)

Cha: lies dead on the bathroom floor (heh clichรฉd, DING), Jinwoo sheds a tear
Sic: Why the tears Jinwoo? He was an ass? 0/10 redeeming qualities.
Yes Sic is a bloodthirsty child. Sorry not sorry.
I hope you wiped down your finger prints buddy .
You would make a terrible real life murderer.

Se Ju: Has five seconds of screentime
Sic: Honestly this show needed far more Chanyeol.

Chanyeol/I mean Se Ju:What happened?
Hee Ju: What hapPPENED ?ยฟ?
Sic: just you knowโ€ฆ a whole kdrama worth of dramaโ€ฆ *finger guns*
*Obligatory flashback of past events for the final* (DING DING DING DING DING)
Sic: How’d he not snap his spine falling down those stairs again? lol

An excerpt of Sicโ€™s thought process prior to and throughout the Deleting Bugs scene:
-More Chanyeol; less crying. More sibling relationships; less WHATEVER THIS IS
-ALSO! You know what else this show needs? More spooky gospel music or Latin chanting.
-Like for some reason I just kept thinking when Jinwoo was walking down that church aisle *what if a spooky version of Down To The River To Pray was playing right now* LMAO
-Oooh he’s stabbing the ghosts! Okay why didn’t I predict that. (1x sin for Sic DING) Cos I was expecting โ€œstupid death of just protagonist is way more in toneโ€ lol
-Uhm where is Emma? Why are they fighting around Emma?
-You can’t fight around Emma?
– And. Why does the directing of these last two episodes INSIST ON NON CHRONOLOGICAL STORY TELLING
-IT is HIGHLY amusing to me that Park is just following this trail of little glowing NPC ghost ashes. I am giggling so much right now. It makes a serious moment very irreverent.
Mr StarkYoo. I don’t feel so good.
– Jeffrey the Game and Thanos are besties. Itโ€™s canon now.
– NO WAIT Jeffrey is just the Soul, Space and Reality stones rapped into one GUYS I CRACKED THE CODE
– Did anyone stab Marco?…
No?
Ok then.
(RANT INCOMING ABOUT THIS ALL LATER. For now, DING)
-100% possible that she killed his player but not him. then again nobody has every explained how or why people die in this soooโ€ฆ

And the aftermath of the Deleting Bugs Scene *featuring a very longwinded rant about drips*:
– This show is very boring without JW lol
– And she’s crying. Again. On the plus side nobody has been in a drip yet!
– I SPOKE TOO SOON. In the absence of drip advocate extraordinaire Jin Woo, Hee Ju will be taking up the baton.
– Can you buy drips at Walmart now? They’re so accessible in dramaland wtf.
– And why is the first thing people do in this show for an injury or fainting is PUT EM ON A DRIP! lol
-I feel like there is no show with a drip in which the patient DOESNT just yank it out willy nilly. STOP DOING THAT.
– Oh no is the rest of this show is just gonna be her crying at the church GOD HELP US WHY DID I HAVE TO PREDICT THAT OF ALL THINGS
-Five minutes of staring into church space
-Sigh
-Ooh floor stroking. How sensual.
-I get it. She’s grieving or something but like. It’s really boring to watch ok.
-Asian squat.
-OH NO GOSH DAY THREE I HATE THIS
-How long will this actually go on for
-This is more torturous than caina in MG. (Not actually but it’s close)
-And now she’s praying because even though nothing else in this show implies anyone here is religious, when in doubt pray because God only exists when you need him too in these things and never any time else.
-Day four
-And fade to black thank the Actual Lord.
-Bet there’s a time jump
-Is he wearing a polo shirt
I- think I like his grieving mechanism better
-DAY FIVE ARGG
-So unless they’re a grade assholes they’re not showing us all this if he’s actually dead… *Squints at show*
-Fade to black again even though NONE OF THE LAST SCENE WAS NECESSARY WHY WAS IT THERE
-AND A TIME JUMP
-CALLED IT
-(guess that’s day 370)
-1 year later Chanyeol has discovered how to bring back people from the dead with a video game. And also the cure for cancer, the secret to immortality, how to read minds and how to get unlimited pizza.
-Lmao like any of us thought it would actually be Hee Ju getting married you guys. Such a cheap hack of a show. The reason I hate that is because most hack shows at least admit they’re hacks. This doesn’t.
It’s trying so darn hard.
-Lol what if it’s JW sheโ€™s marrying again NOW THAT WOULD BE A PLOT TWIST Iโ€™m joking obviously
Hahahaha
– Media narration catch up exposition is worthy of the seventh hell (DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING)
– Tying up of characters we never cared about and you never developed is worthy of the eighth hell. (DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGding)
-Bullshit speech is bullshit (DING)

*haveyoukeptintouchwithjinwoo* *no* *eh* *ijustassumehestravellingabroad*
Sic: Lol no he’s probably dead
I admire the balls of killing (ALMOST) your main character but to have half an HR or more of final episode without him is pushing it. (BECAUSE OFC THEY DIDNโ€™T ACTUALLY KILL HIM. Iโ€™d be mad either way but for different reasons)

And the last ten minutes of the show *IN WHICH SIC LOSES IT*:
– Hey the game works. Did Channie help develop it? I promise he won’t kill anyone this timeโ€ฆ on purposeโ€ฆ
-They called it NEXT? OH BLEEPING HECK get better game developers plz at least they didnโ€™t call it Something Goโ€ฆ
-Lol the toilet line
-AWWWW Se Ju is so cuteee
-Bitch you said you’d wait down stairs
-‘#-@(โ„ข#@@โ„ขยฉรท`ร—ยถโ‚ฌ\ GOSH DARN IT YOU STUPUD SHOW YOU HAD THE POTENTIAL TO MAKE THW WHOLE DIMENSIONAL TRAVEL MORE OF A THING AND YOU SHOEHORN IT KNTO THE LAST TEN MINUTES? YOU ASSHOLE.
-And this is W’s writer? Inter dimensional travel through the game should’ve been the thing from the beginning I don’t know enough swear words PERKELE
-Are you telling me SJ waited a year to tell people this?
-This is why. I don’t. Like. Time jumps.
-Also *defenestrates the show*
-Oh I actually have tension in my jaw from watching this eff you show
-Blind faith GIRL bloody HELL
-*I choked on my rum*
-*He didn’t have a user id* *so is he a freak* *how’s he still the master after the game reset?*
**Stupid game is stupid**
-*JEFFREY* *GET YO SHIT TOGETHER*
-ITS NOT HER FIRST LOGIN ITS LIKE HER THIRD HOW COME HER PLAYER GOT DELWTED AFTER THE RESET BUT HIS DIDNT
-DONT EXPLAIN IT AWAY FOR ME. DONT DO IT. THIS SHOW IS SYUPID.
-NO
-ABSOLUTELY NOT
-THE SHOW SHOULD START THERE NOT END THERE
*PICKS SHOW UP FROM THE SIDE WALK AND DEFENESTRATES IT AGAIN*
-*breathe sic breathe*
-Do you all want me to tear this show to pieces? Cos I’m willing to do that now.
-Oh so willing.
-*Struggles to compose self*
– Well that was fun.

P.S.
HEY GUYS REMEMBER JWโ€™S SPY FRIEND AND THE PHONE CALL IN SPAIN OUTSIDE THAT DINGY STATION THAT WAS NEVER EXPLAINED? Cos I doโ€ฆ

P.P.S
Okay NOW now that THAT;S ALL OVER. Allow me to rant YOU DONโ€™T HAVE TO READ THIS BIT IF YOU DONโ€™T WANT TO.

The Rant:
Iโ€™m not sure I SHOULD mention all the plot holes in this thing. Actually Iโ€™m not sure thatโ€™s entirely possible, but there were several in the last episode I would like to address.
Just a few things to bear in mind before I start: I do not care about your personal theories about how the show or the game works because no matter how many theories one comes up with, not matter how many theories we can assume about it, the fact of the matter is, at the end of the day, the writing is full of holes. On this note- I do not care about what Song Writernim said about the show in interviews because Iโ€™ve read all of them and I think all she did in those interviews is expose all the flaws she has a writer and how she wonโ€™t ever address those flaws. Also her explanations are stupid but more on that later. I also havenโ€™t read all the recap theories because for the last three weeks Iโ€™ve literally just been watching this show to be a sarcastic asshole about it because thatโ€™s what made it fun for me.
I still do not truly hate this show. It was enjoyable for the most part, albeit stupid in a lot of places, and I thoroughly dislike the last episode, but thatโ€™s really not all that abnormal because I havenโ€™t liked the last episode of anything in a very long time.
Also the reason I might seem harsh on some shows more than others is because they have such a high expectation of being good. They have big casts and big money behind them and think theyโ€™re the bees knees and Iโ€™m a killjoy so I like to throw them out windows. Shows like Clean With Passion For Now have the same number of or more problems but I couldnโ€™t care less because Iโ€™m not watching that for any kind of reason other than the barest of distractions and stimulus and itโ€™s not trying to be anything more than it is either.
However I will just note my position on Memories of Alhambra has in fact changed. When I started it I was highly apprehensive about the writer, and so I had zero expectations from episode two of this show ever making sense . And low and behold my expectations were met. It still doesnโ€™t make sense. I wasnโ€™t going to over analyse it because that wouldโ€™ve ruined whatever fun I was having watching it as a lite sci fi hack. But even that fun diminished significantly over the last three weeks, and I had to force myself to watch the last couple of episodes.
So now I feel like ripping it apart. This is for several reasons but namely 1) Song Writernimโ€™s interviews, 2) that atrocious last episode and 3) thatโ€™s who I am and apparently I canโ€™t help myself from ranting despite my greatest attempts not to.
So without farther adoโ€ฆ letโ€™s go.

1) The main problem this show has is that it never has a concrete set of rules behind the game, the glitches or the deaths. Despite what the writer may say, it does not. It breaks down very quickly beyond how the glitches initially started as soon as you start to add more players. See: Secretary Seoโ€™s death.
But in this episode- Emma and the Church.
As was specifically mentioned, one cannot fight around Emma. She is a safe spot. The range I believe is 20m. Now I donโ€™t know how big that church is without doing a whole lot of unnecessary physics drawn up against screenshots, but Iโ€™m pretty sure Cha should never have appeared since he was literally 3 metres from Emma. On top of that, the shooters shouldnโ€™t have appeared because they were also in range of Emma. And therefore Jinwoo shouldnโ€™t have been able to fight them and none of that scene shouldโ€™ve happened like it did.
The only possibly explanations for this are a) they WERE in fact out of Emmaโ€™s range (unlikely) or b) it was just a nature of Cha being a glitch, and Jin Woo being a glitch but that one doesnโ€™t really work because like I just said, none of the glitches are ever explained and if this is just a glitch then itโ€™s another unexplainable glitch. The show doesnโ€™t have the sci fi or fantasy set up or story development to explain the glitches, nor the intelligence behind it to explain it away with actual game programming, nor did it embrace the horror genre, thus the only explanation for the glitches and plot holes like this isโ€ฆ bad writing.

2) Marco. By my reckoning, there are five bugs. Cha Junior, Secretary Seo, Cha Senior, Marco, and Jinwoo. Although actually, by dint of Jinwoo being a bug, then so is Se Ju. Six bugs. Marco uhm I guess, WE ASSUME was stabbed by the key off screen by Emma (WEAK WRITING) and Se Ju was just forgotten about for some reasonโ€ฆ Look, I can explain this away too. Se Ju is no longer in the game after the master changed hands and after he escaped his dungeon, that was the same as killing him as a bug- but I donโ€™t accept this explanation because a) itโ€™s stupid b) it wasnโ€™t explained in game and c) itโ€™s inconsistent. But if W has taught me ANYTHING itโ€™s that this writer is inconsistent. Oh gosh why am I even bothering to rant about this; I know sheโ€™s inconsistent, I know all (or most) of this is the writerโ€™s fault and I know Iโ€™m going to have issues with everything she does ever. Oh well.

3) That shoehorning in of inter-dimensional game travel in the last ten minutes of the show sublimely pissed me off. We guessed, pretty early on, because weโ€™re not stupid, that Se Ju was probably stuck in the game somehow. To try and EXPLAIN where he was, why nobody saw him, and why Jinwoo (SHOCK HORROR NOT) might be alive, A YEAR LATER, in the LAST TEN MINUTES OF VIEW TIME, with what couldโ€™ve been one of the most interesting plot points and storytelling ideas in this entire drama, is, so weak. And a waste of an idea. Of course, even if she had bought it in earlier, I have exactly 0 hopes she wouldโ€™ve been able to pull it off anyway, since sheโ€™s proven sheโ€™s incompetent, and of course I have said for most of this show that the game element of it is shockingly underused and underdeveloped and a waste of potential, and now I just have one more thing as proof.

4) Jinwoo, was made the new master. Then Jinwoo was โ€œkilledโ€ as a bug. Hee Juโ€™s account was deleted (apparently off screen). A year later, Jinwoo is apparently still IN the game (making NPC glitch noises I might add- did you notice those?), presumably he was in a different dimension for a year. Or something. Also he somehow retained his level and abilities but NOT his username, and not any other normal user traits DESPITE the fact that the game resetโ€ฆ Iโ€™m not even gonna explain whatโ€™s wrong with this. You get the gist. Bad and inconsistent writing.

5) In episode 10โ€ฆ when Jinwoo was still in Spain, when Seo dies, he gets on the train, and the train takes him out of range of Granada, where he gets off at a small insignificant station to try and ring Seo. At the end of this scene, he rings someone, and they have a conversation off screen (I know about this because it was in my shitpost. I sinned it.). We never find out what this conversation is about. It could be any number of easily explainable things but the reason it pisses me off is the same reason I sinned it then. It was SHOT and written, like it was an IMPORTANT conversation. We zoomed out because thatโ€™s what you do when you donโ€™t want your audience to hear this information yet, because itโ€™s important information. Personally I hate that technique even though Iโ€™m sure Iโ€™ve used it in my own writing. Because itโ€™s cheap tension and itโ€™s often a cop out. And ofc Iโ€™m annoyed right now because they DELIBERATELY showed us that scene to make it seem important and then THEY FORGOT ABOUT IT. On top of that they also forgot about Jinwooโ€™s shady spy friend who found out all that info for in him in Granada and I feel like thatโ€™s the friend we needed when Jinwoo was in a mental hospital for nine months and then again when Jinwoo and the writer decided that Voice Over Narration over both real and hypothesized events of What Happened In Granada was better exposition than having a spy friend find out everythingโ€ฆ neither is actually a good option. But anyway.
6) This show really didnโ€™t have enough Chanyeol. I mean think about it, this genius kid created a a working AR game that can cross dimensions and also kill people, who gets stuck inside his own game, who somehow either prior or during that year he was missing created a quest for someone to save him, who has one interesting sister and one sister who could be interesting if she were handled better, a rich chaebol playing his game and gradually going insane, to save himโ€ฆ why wasnโ€™t this show about sibling dynamics and friendship and more based on actual game programming and history and actual magic and healing and brotherhood and — I solve nothing by what ifs. Surely the makers of the show could afford Chanyeol if they could afford all the rest of it.

7) And finally, let me, an unprofessional, break down this Soompi article of Writer Song’s so called “explanation” of death in the game.
Weโ€™re gonna start with the lenses.

โ€โ€œI had my storyline edited by a professional in the field. Using smart lenses to play an AR game means that the brain can be controlled by the game.โ€
– A Professional in the field? A what now? If they were a professional in the field they shouldโ€™ve told you that AR lenses donโ€™t work in real life because you canโ€™t render black. But assuming for the moment, that MOA exists in an alternate reality where there is a magical material that could be used to render black with the lenses, then our problem lies elsewhere. There lenses were not once explained in the game. We werenโ€™t even given an introduction to them. They just exist, and we as viewers have had to fill in the gaps with canon. Something I take great issue with because the viewers should never have to fill in canon. That makes your plot writing BAD.
Of course, many viewers guessed there might be some neurological link between the lenses and the brain, and therefore the playing of the game without the lenses. But this ISNโ€™T EXPLAINED. We just assume this. Or if youโ€™re like me, you donโ€™t actually assume anything because not only does assuming make an ass out of u and me, assume means forgiving the writer for plot holes because of some explanation you gave yourself. And I rarely like to forgive writers for plot holes.
The lenses were not explained. There was no information in the show to even say where they came from, how Marco and Se Ju got them, why the game works on all the lenses, why the game works without the lenses. None of that is given in the so you cannot just explain it away in an outside article.

โ€œYou can think of it as a virus. Having murderous intent and breaking the rules created an error in the game. In Yoo Jin Woo and Cha Hyung Sukโ€™s (played by Park Hoon) case as well, the murderous fights between the users caused them to become able to feel pain and unable to log out,โ€
1) So what I took from this, after breaking it down, is that the game interacting with its real world surroundings is key. We saw this in episode one when the game used a real life car as a prop. So since we know the game reacts to the real world, it could be implied that it reacts to a real life attempted murder, WITHIN the 20Ms of the character that youโ€™re not allowed to attack around, and the real world interacting code, and the no killing code, malfunctioned with each other. However, thatโ€™s not actually whatโ€™s being said here, nor was that explained very well in the actual show at all.
Because if you donโ€™t read it like that, then you have to read it that the show somehow has a moral code. Which is fascinating. But improbable.
This isnโ€™t an โ€œAI or Humanโ€ story. We guessed that the game malfunctioned after Marco tried to kill Se Ju (in real life) but you play the game itself by killing NPCs, or other players, to level up, and to attain itemsโ€ฆ so killing people in the game doesnโ€™t make it malfunction. But then you have to say the game malfunctioned because someone tried to kill someone in real life, meaning that now the game is a moralistic entity and can read real life situations and determine right or wrong. Which we can only assume happens that for magical reasons since there is no set up and very little possible explanation in or outside of canon for a game, where you literally kill players to level up, to develop a moral code like thatโ€ฆ unless youโ€™re going to start combining what Are You Human Too attempted, with an AR game. But you didnโ€™t. So this theory doesnโ€™t make sense.
My overall point being this explanation from the writer isnโ€™t sound. She practically shot herself in the foot and like I said previously, I donโ€™t like being the one to explain away the flaws in canon.
2) They can feel pain thoughโ€ฆ Unless youโ€™re implying that in game pain and out of game pain arenโ€™t the same things? But they are because Jin Woo fell down 6 floors and almost died. But then maybe youโ€™re talking about how he has a limp, but at the higher levels in the game he doesnโ€™t have the limp? But there is no explanation for why at a certain level his limpโ€ฆ look my point is this is a very bad explanation because it explains NOTHING.

โ€œThe scene where the police officer speculates that Cha Hyung Sukโ€™s death was caused by a lack of blood in his body was written to trick viewers. That was only a speculation made by the police officer as they couldnโ€™t properly check if it was true. The line was purposely inserted to create a tense atmosphere by implying that Yoo Jin Woo could be involved in the murder case.โ€
– Nobody. Was tricked. Nobody, for a second thought Jinwoo was directly, in this world, related to his death. It was pretty dang obvious he died because he died in the game, because the game has a weird glitch/virus that kills people. Nobody for a second thought Jin Woo could be involved in a murder case, and therefore it made bringing BACK the murder case at the end of the show contrived because the only tension left in it is a) explaining to the authorities that a game is killing people and b) HOW that game is killing people. Which we can guess from episode 14, and from you telling us that the game glitched because of Emma, means that there is literally no reason for any view to be fooled by this.

P.P.P.S.
But anyway that rant was WAY TOO SERIOUS AND TOO LONG AND IF YOU READ IT ALL HERE HAVE SOME COOKIE: 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪
Gosh Sic, youโ€™re not funny at all.
Ahem, last minute announcements.
Jeffrey, congratulations on living up to your Let Down Of the Month Award. It was truly expected of you. I look forward to seeing you in the Olympics for Worst Villain and Inconsistencies next year.
Literally every character except Min Joo, Se Ju, Secretary Seo, Jeffrey and Jinwoo- please get a life and never grace my screen for more than thirty seconds again, YOU WERE SO BORING.
Jiwoo, sweety, Iโ€™m so sorry they did you dirty gave you no screen time in your own show even though you were always be best character and the most interesting part of each episode!
Park Shin Hye- โ€ฆ uhm look itโ€™s a good thing you get paid a lot because you did not deserve that writing and hackneyed romance line. Yikes.
Song Writernim- we will meet again, but next time it will truly be as enemies. TO THE DEATH. โš”๏ธ
Melonions and Beanies- thank you for taking this crazy journey with me. (Sorry @leetennant I couldnโ€™t drunk watch this episode with you. But honestly I donโ€™t think it was worth it (shh))
And Sic, once again you wrote 4k words on something for no reason that you donโ€™t actually like. Youโ€™re truly insane.

Final Drip Count: Some
Final Cry Count: Many
Final Sin Count: โˆž +22

Reward: InDun aka InASDFGHJKL Dungeon

P.P.P.P.S.
Despite aalllll this, the overall biggest issues this show has are, in order
1) Hee Ju still doesnโ€™t like swords
2) Iโ€™m still not a Fanclub President
and
3)There wasโ€ฆ No cane sword. *weeps* *DING*

I liked the show but I’m going to miss your rants.

Cool essay, and thanks because now I really don’t need to watch the final episode.

However, did you happen to notice if the pirates ever showed up again, or did they just take Jin-woo’s money and run away? I mean they are pirates and all, but don’t they have some sort of code of honor that would make them follow through on their commitment to finding Se Ju?

I believe the lack of a cane sword might be the most egregious writing sin.

    2

    👍🏼 to all your 👎🏼

I think if we tried to drink hate watch this, it may result in our deaths from alcoholic poisoning. Or at least we’ll need one of those ever-present IVs. Also, I’m getting too much mileage from having dropped this stinking piece of refuse. And I am happy about that. Very very happy.

Did I mention I dropped this? I did. I’m glad.

lol! cant believe i actually read all that. thanks for the cookie. ๐Ÿคฃ i didnt know about the writer consulting a โ€œprofessionalโ€ but either the professional wasnt very good in explaining how ar/vr works or she just didnt get it or couldnt pull it off. but like u said at the end of day its just all full of holes.

i would have loved a plot with the siblings, thats cool! with a less leaky noona. this show totally lacked chanyeol. so much potential with that road, but nooooooo.

i dont hate the show but i dont love it either. maybe i enjoyed picking it apart, and seeing the beanie wall explode…. 😂 so much potential for a story wasted down the drain. ah well.

& so true: a key converts into a dagger but still no cane sword?! โš”๏ธ🗡

pROFESSIONAL SMESSIONAL I bet it wasn’t even a professional she’s just saying that to sound smart. I consulted a professional too actually. At the beginning of the show. He was the reason I dropped all hope of it ever making sense. Lol.

Mmmm when Channie was breaking down saying “I didn’t kill him I didn’t kill him!” I suddenly wanted an epic siblings quest within the game to save each other and fight dragons, and not someone who just cries over the lead and not her own brother. ACK.

I am on the same boat as you. Despite how angry this rant makes me seem (LOL) I neither hate it fully nor love it fully. It’s a just a fun punching bag. (Sorry fans of the show)

Should’ve had a mean as Cane Sword Key Dagger duel.

Cane Sword – Key Dagger duel!

Emma: โ€œI must delete the bug!โ€

*epic Cane Sword-Key Dagger duel within the Church, with epic jumping & classy ninja assassin moves by Emma …coz screw the โ€œno violence ruleโ€ for bugs.* Clang! Clang! Swipe! Swish! 🗝โš”๏ธ🗡🔪

i read this till the end. Hahaha. ‘What is this ending??’ was the feeling I get while I watched the finale. Skipped a lot of Hee Ju’s scenes. Jin Woo-Hee Ju loveline is soooo boring. Jin Woo- Secretary Seo bromance is way, way better. Such a waste of interesting premise. Loopholes everywhere, I could not keep up.

thanks for this epic rant Sicarius ๐Ÿ˜€ ! I’ve read some Beanies post about the final ep so I’ve had an idea about what happened . Your post gave more information and the plotholes list and explanation : I was nodding all the time. I only have 4ep left but gosh is it worth fast forward those to see such a joke of a show ?! maybe as a filler, like it has been since ep2 ^^’.

Seems like after W’s 2nd half , the writer has lost her game for the entire drama here. It’s so bad that the “what could’ve been” doesn’t apply haha x) .

side note : so Chanyeol isn’t that much in the show, pff, why do promotions with him then ?! argh
side note 2 : maybe all you need is your beloved upcoming zombies in Kingdom to be their Fanclub President ๐Ÿ˜‰

and again thanks for your rants , it helps a lot dealing with such stupid useless show

Your last and final rant Kudo! Oh no!
      You’re welcome as usual. hahaha
I mean, it’s only worth it if you think you can have fun watching it I say, And since you’ve been enjoying my rants more than the show — I say not worth it heh.

Oh for sure. She makes all the same mistakes. I think it’s worse than W but either way. Same mistakes. Same flaws. \o_o/

-Probably for attention Kudo! EXO is big! You get their fans to watch something that’s a good thing! Even if you do happen to cheat those fans tsk.
-I HOPE SO. I have a lot I want to watch this month so we’ll see how I go hahaha.

I like your style ! N thanks i couldn’t wait till wed to vent.

Main issue for me was when the writer decided the freeze point for the last episode
just to keep the mystery intact.

Reagarding Jin-woo’ NPC or user status will ellaborate wed

Seriously Sic, thank you so much for this rant because that means I don’t need to write one. I’m actually ready to conveniently forget all the unanswered questions and dropped plot, but the last few minutes is just… arrrghh… I don’t mind whether they go to the tragic or happy route, but they simply couldn’t make up their mind here and instead decided to use a vague and open ending. Sigh. I think I’m still in state of shock. That ending left me numb and empty.

    5
    1

Hahahahah happy as always to rant for the masses lol!
I think at the end of the day it wasn’t so much the specific questions that were unanswered (although surely that was annoying) it was just that the ending simply confirmed everything I have wrong with this writer, and highlighted all her already known flaws. Again. In like… the worst possible way.
She just can’t hold a story together. Sure it looks pretty and flashy, but it doesn’t even take much of a closer look to see that it falls apart pretty quickly. She doesn’t even have a good handle of character writing to carry her through; I am most prone to forgive plot holes if the character writing is phenomenal. In fact some of my favourite dramas are because the characters are amazing, even when the plot is weak, (like Lookout). But she doesn’t even have that. Jinwoo was the ONLY interesting character in this, and even then he could be more, and I’m inclined (if I knew HB’s capabilities more) to pin that all on Hyun Bin and not her writing.
She’s all fancy veneer and no depth. And she will always frustrate me because of that. Because her basic ideas COULD be amazing, but not in her hands. And it annoys me that she is called a “golden writer” of Kdrama and heralded as one of the best when she makes rookie mistakes and never. thinks. through. her. damn. plots. and has a beginner’s (if that) concept of basic story telling. She’s not good enough to know the rules and break them, but break them she does anyway. ARGH.

THANK YOU for this! I’m a real world engineer and was going mad trying to make sense out of it. I mean, I was lost the moment the two vitual swords hit each other and managed to give VERY real force on to the player’s hands ( this was well written in ready player one). I was hoping they’ll give good explanations and that’s why I stayed. I mean, in are you human too, you almost don’t notice the writer doesn’t have a degree in STEM untill the last episode, but here…… *Facepalm*……
Btw, my friends are sick of hearing my rants every Monday. At least it’ll stop in a few weeks!
WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND GOOD SCI-FI????????

Oh gosh I’m neither physicist nor engineer and it just about drove me up the wall; I can’t imagine how you survived!
Honestly, I never did try to make sense out of it. I inquired of my Software Engineering brother when it started about questions I had, and after that conversation I promptly gave up hope of it ever making sense, especially with this writer’s track record. I may not be an engineer, but I am a writer, so my biggest frustration with this show is that the Writer simply did everything I expected of her. Which was fail at constructing her plot, fail at making sense, or have any sort of consistency at all, and leaving holes everywhere.
(It’s hard to find good sci fi because engineers and physicists are not the ones writing it most often kekeke. Sometimes they are and that’s when it’s good sci fi ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Are you human too was ok. It had plausible science, even though it was a bit off at some points. I gave the writer the benefit of my doubt. W was good at start, and tolerable till end cus it didn’t try to make it anything scientific. I always assumed it was in mystery/magic genre. But the problem in this is, the use of real world tech clashes so bad with the unexplained bugs. I was at least hoping they will go down the road of “Seju somehow developing on a program Marco stole from some mysterious part of the dark web”. I would have slept more peacefully tonight if that was the case.

Oooo I almost forgot the JW’s spy friend!
We seriously need an epilogue that can tie up the loose ends here. Maybe a loooong SeJoo POV narration? and a bit by JW to explain where he was and how he made and escaped the indun

    Lolololol

I couldn’t take the sparkly salt seriously either. Why watch the drama even, he was supposed to be dead but he wasn’t… & it’s not like I understood game stuff so I just flowed with it. Still did not buy the last 2 episodes 😂😂😂
