He really is shining in this role. His acting is phenomenal. When he smiled, his face showed that he unleashed himself of his restraint. He just looked like a young kid going on a picnic. So happy and radiant.

Exactly! he looked just that young kid from their flashback…Such great casting!

He’s just too good! I dont know how he does it. You know when you watch a drama and you still call the actors by their names? When they are so good that I forget they are just acting, I just call them by their character’s name. He’s Gang-tae. Just Gang-tae.

I liked Jang Seung-jo in Boyfriend. I loved him in Chocolate (obviously) ❤️️ I am merrily delighting in this enigmatic detective character of his. In multiple scenes, he stays at the back of the group, at a distance, slightly separate, but he acts as the observer of the entire scene. It gives him perspective, it would seem. Whatever it is, this drama has potential and it’s a pleasure to screenshot his scenes ❤️️

Can we get recaps @db-staff, pretty please ??

I’m glad to see him get a leading role. He’s been good in everything I’ve seen him in.

Yeah, me too 🙂 He is great here! I hope this drama does well…fingers crossed🤞

Why do I get a feeling that he’s the one orchestrating this whole thing? He seems to be loaded – he could’ve paid all those people to do what he wanted. I just don’t know his motive…

His roles in Money Flower and Familiar Wife were much better.

My heart is full and warm. Like the OST said, this drama was like a memorable sunset, a beautiful painting, and a sky full of twinkling stars to me. I was depressed these last few days and it was getting worse and this saved me today. Thank you ❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️

Only one ship sailed and I had heart eyes the whole time😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍I did not care if it was realistic or not…Yoo Yoon-seok is hot and he has eyes that pour out love❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️ I am tempted to watch Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim because of him… I don’t wanna watch Reply 94 because I want to avoid the ultimate heartbreak. The whole cast played off each other so well and it is heartening to hear they have become real-life friends too!!

Okay, now on to my greatest loves of all time…The Song hwa- Ik jun couple is my OTP and even if it doesn’t happen ever, I will forever be grateful for the pairing potential and for the most amazing revelation that has been Jeon Mi-do😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍Her acting is great, and she made Song-hwa into everyone’s girl crush. That woman knows what she wants and what she needs and is an overall girl boss. That does not take away the humanness from her character nor does she let her become cartoonish. So so marvellous ❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️

And then there’s Jo Jung-seok’s Ik-jun!❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️

All evening, I have been reading hospital playlist posts and liking each and every one of them. All the comments too. God, how I adore this show❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️

I have always liked Jo Jung-seok but Ik-jun is simply on another level. I have never shipped anyone as hard as I ship Ik-jun and Song-hwa together. They are just love (along with U-ju, of course)❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️

On a separate note, I might become a serious fan of Yoo Yoon-seok. I am out of words to describe his portrayal and I am all aboard the Winter Garden ship❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️

So, all in all, an evening well-spent😁😁😁

Pictured below: Ik-jun gazing fondly at Song-hwa and U-ju sleeping together❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️

#I’ll Find You on a Beautiful Day musings:

I’ll Find You on a Beautiful Day was such a cozy watch. I watched it only during the late-night hours or when noone was around to distract me in the mornings, because I needed the silence to savor it. I am so glad I watched this gem of a drama. I kept delaying watching the finale because I didn’t want to let go of it. But the finale was a fitting bookend to these characters. I know their lives continue in that little mountain-town and everyone is doing their best to live their lives with love and gratitude.

Eun-seob is my most favourite character so far this year. I know he wasn’t proactive but his quite nature and profound thoughtfulness and his amazing blog posts made him feel like a friend and I felt so protective of his happiness (almost like Jang-woo). Park Min-young was, as always, stellar here. The silent melancholy suited her and made Hae-won a layered character.

But I was most surprised by the Jang woo- Eun sil couple. They got all the usual k-drama romance moments like the slipping scene, the confession, the wrist-grab kiss and it was wonderful. Jang-woo could have easily slipped into a normal secondary character but he never let me waver in my affection for him. All the book-club members were great.

I know much has been said but I must repeat this. The sibling relationship between Hwi and Eun-seob was one for the books and the sister bond between Myung-joo and Myung-yeo made me wish I had a sister. The sibling relationships were meaningfully crafted, and they added nuance and depth to the drama. And, speaking of Myung-yeo, the actress did a fantabulous job. I liked how they retained the mystery with her by not giving away details about her departure. Nicely done!

And, finally, this post would be incomplete without mentioning the fantastic central romance. I went into this expecting a normal romance. I have come out the other end a believer. Seo Kang-joon not only delivered a mind-blowing performance as Eun-seob, but also made me celebrate the romance. I had no doubts with Park Min-young but I didn’t know that these two would end up being so marvellous together. You have to see it to believe it!

I have no more words left. Beanies, if you haven’t watched this and you are in the mood for a slow, beautiful and poignant romance, where the town is itself a character in the story, do watch this. It is worth every ounce of your time. Every hour heals you, bit by bit, like a good cry or a good therapy session or a deep conversation with a friend over tea.

I’ll Find You on a Beautiful Day, you warmed my soul (with the cups of coffee made by Eun-seob). I will miss you and I shall remember you fondly for a long, long time ❤️️ ❤️️ ❤️️ ❤️️ ❤️️

‘Let it go’ by Demi Lovato for Frozen.
I love this version of the song. There is something powerful about the darkness vs. light theme of this song and video. Demi Lovato does a great job of portraying the pain and the relief that comes with letting go.

That, I think, is why I am sharing this today. We have come to the end of March and are beginning the fresh chapter of April tomorrow. So, I hope you are able to let go of all worthless burdens (be it things or feelings or beings) and wake up to a lovely day with the smell of liberating and endless possibilities in the air❤️️
Thanks for Music March everyone! Happy April to you all❤️️

Time for a classic! Frankie Valli’s ‘Can’t take my eyes off you’ sung by ❤️️Heath Ledger❤️️ from Ten Things I Hate About You❤️️

It is one of my all-time favourite movies and I keep re-watching it when I need warmth and comfort. The world of story-telling lost one of its gems when Heath Ledger passed away. I wasn’t the greatest fan but I still miss him. I wanted to see more of this romantic Heath Ledger but it was not to be. His Joker remains the best to this day and I just wish he had lived to see this.

But, moving on from all this sadness, this song and video never fails to bring a smile to my lips and cheer to my heart❤️️ I hope it brightens your day too⭐️ Enjoy!

‘City of Stars’ from La La Land❤️️

City of Stars is an enchanting piece of music that grinds up a whole gamut of emotions inside me. It gives one the feeling of levitating in the sky, at the same time grounding you with its raw melancholy.
You feel whatever the protagonist feels: hope, fear, despair, happiness, shock. The movie makes you think. What are we really after or what are our dreams? Is it the career we want, the position in life we desire, or simply love from someone else? Is it possible to obtain all the three? What are our limits? What sacrifices do we make to be who we are; to get to where we are? Is it worth it? All of us ponder these questions from time to time but which one of us gets it right? Only time will tell.

‘Dona Nabis Pacem 2 (Grant us peace)’ from the Leftovers🖤

Beanies, have any of you watched this show??? I can’t even begin to explain this. Around 2% of the world’s population disappears overnight. It is termed as the “Sudden Departure” and the series deals with the aftermath of this event. For example, some people grieve, some form cults, some try to provide relief etc. It is a deeply interesting and disturbing series. Dare I say, one of the best things to be ever on television🖤

More than the story arc, the music in this show is brilliant and unforgettable. From the get-go, it grips your heart and never lets go. The 🖤melancholy🖤 will haunt you till the end of times. It haunts me still! It is the kind of music that everyone must hear at least once. It lets us mere mortals comprehend the magic and might wielded by music and appreciate its universality🖤
Definitely listen to this! Thank me later!

Another Tamil song. ‘Kadhale Kadhale’ from the movie 96❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️
It is a nostalgic tale about two high school sweethearts who meet more than twenty years later at their high school reunion. Since the heroine has to leave the next day, they chat through the entire night about their lives and their stories from then till now. It is a heart-warming story that is elevated by the slow burn and great chemistry between the leads❤️️ The music is spot-on and the lyrics are exceptional❤️️
The one I have shared here is the most famous song from that movie and the lyrics are simple and sweet. The music is a masterpiece. Both the music director and the singer won awards for this. Please give it a listen and let me know if you like it!

Translated lyrics (it is more profound in Tamil):
You, my lovely all-encompassing one, come to me!
You are my lovely seven musical notes,
my five elements.
My heart is brimming,
whatever I see is love.
My love… my love…
is the greatest companion.
Come with me… come with me…
That is more than enough
My love… my love…
Till the end of life’s length…
Let’s travel together… come with me!

‘Maybe’ from Dream High (a bit of an oldie, I know).
This shorter version is spontaneous and I love it! Kim Soo-hyun plays the keyboard and looks shell-shocked to see Suzy singing along🤩
Also, a high school drama with an underdog story that had lots and lots of heart❤️️ What not to love❤️️❤️️

‘Moral of the Story’ by Ashe.
I came across this song randomly one day, and remembered liking it in the movie ‘To All the Boys P.S. I Still Love You’. I liked it then and I love it now. It’s so different……like a spoken poem that just pushes all the right buttons for me and connects with the broken parts of my soul💔
Beanies, do listen and tell me if you feel it too💔

‘Another Day’ from Hotel Del Luna.
Although I liked IU as a singer, I was not a fan of her acting. (I haven’t watched My Ajusshi yet…don’t hate me!) And then Hotel Del Luna came along and blew my mind! The story arc, the lessons, IU’s dresses, and most of all her attitude and acting just enthralled me. It was my ❤️️most favourite drama❤️️ from last year and I can’t recommend it enough. I love love love this track so much❤️️ I don’t know if it would feel the same way for everyone, but for me, the experience was intense, and the lessons of letting go and healing couldn’t have come at a better time❤️️

‘Till the dawn’ dance scene from Step Up❤️️
I love musicals and dance movies. I don’t care too much about the story if the movie makes me fall in love with the music and dance. ‘Step up’ is a complete package. It uses dance to turn lives from the brink of delinquency. It gives us a sweet love story and the actors fell in love and got married for real. Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum are excellent here. I love the final showcase so much but the club dance I have shared here takes the cake. It is where they are falling in love and the setting is both casual and serious. These people are friends but they take their dancing seriously. I would love to be a part of something like this 💃 💃

Real life got in the way and I have missed two days….yelp!! So here goes: #MusicMarch No. 21
‘Autumn morning’ by IU.
I was in Munich, Germany on an exchange program when this song was released. Leaves were changing colours and it was my first time experiencing the fall season. I remember playing this song on a cold silent morning and I was mesmerized. It fit perfectly with the autumn morning I was having. I love quiet songs like these. It is reverent. I don’t know how else to describe the feeling. Hearing this reminds me of the chill but pleasant breeze that greeted me every morning I was there. And, it elevated my respect for IU as a musician❤️️
