Beanie level: Errand boy

I gave Welcome 2 Life a try on a whim and I’m pleasantly surprised. I am still disappointed that Kwak Si Yang still isn’t a lead and will most likely be the bad guy. Oh well, beggars can’t be choosers.

    oohh.. is it good?
It aired last night at my cable channel but I was catching up on rookie historian

I liked it. I can’t say I’m totally on board but so far so good. The last drama starring Rain went off the rails about half-way, fingers crossed this won’t be the same.

Censorship really put a damper on the last episode of Go Go Squid. Moving on.

2

And what did they censor out?

    2

From what I saw that last two main competitions. From what I read, a lot. I wish I knew exactly what they cut out.

      2

One of them was the scene from the opening credit where Gun touched the ground then raised his index finger up high. Really disappointed that got cut. He looked passionate in that.

Apparently we were supposed to get total of 44 episodes. Cut down to 41 due to censorship…..

Hope there were no squid/gun moments that got cut

Go Go Squid squad, so Zheng Hi is kinda crazy huh? See, you can never trust those type of guys.

Only took a sneak peak last night, so I didn’t understand what’s going on. (I need to stop watching raws…..) But man yep, psycho…..

When he makes some comment about treating her well? Um, yes she is your classmate, junior, and friend you should treat her well just like she treats you well as it is what people should do.

That took an unexpected turn for the cray cray but I’m so pleased with how Tong Nian handled him. The way she clearly set out why and how she and HSY love each other was A+.

Partners for Justice 2 ended on a cliffhanger AGAIN. If this turns into another Vampire Prosecutor Imma be pissed.

You never really fully appreciate what you’ve got ’til it’s gone. I sorely miss DramaFever. Viki and Kocowa really need to step their game up.

It has been almost a year and it still hurts. I finally removed the app from my Fire Stick over the weekend.

I still have it on my phone and tablet. The denial is not as strong as it once was but damn, I still miss it so much.

I still have it booked marked on my tablet and computer. That little fire logo sits there mocking me.

Yes Dramafever is way better than Viki and Kocowa in terms of subbing speed and their website interface is cleaner and easier to navigate. I’m still angry and sad whenever I think of how they just shut it down out of the blue…

This is what has me bemoaning the loss. I am truly tired of shows with no subs and crappy UIs. I…just…I just…I CAN’T.

We are down to only 2 shows being recapped. Totally understand burn out and real life obligations make it hard but I really do miss the old days. I didn’t comment but I enjoyed all the recaps.

I wish there was a link where we can create a conversation for shows besides the wall.

    1
    1

There are “first impressions” entries for new dramas, for older dramas the wall it is, altough for Watcher and DS:60 people try to keep discussion going under last articles about this shows.

      0

I like reading discussion in DB recaps more than, let’s say Soompi because it’s divided per episode.
I rarely comment, but I do enjoy reading recaps and the discussions.

I hope When The Devil Calls Your Name gets picked.

There are too many dramas on offer, and it’s also summer for most recappers so maybe they’re taking a break. I expect things to pick up in the autumn again. Fingers crossed!

Go Go Squid squad, what it comes down to is Nian’s mom is in denial. She can not accept her little girl is growing up. When Gun brought Nian home after she stayed at his house, the mom’s speech about this is not the daughter she knew opened up my eyes.

She doesn’t want to accept that her daughter is now a woman. She has changed. Nian is no longer a young girl with only her studies on her mind. She is no longer going to just go along with what her mother thinks is best, she has her own point of view. PaPa Tong gets it and keeps trying to get his wife to see their daughter is GROWN. Nian is only 20 but she’s experienced as much as someone 3-5 years her senior.

Yes, Nian still squees and does silly school girl stuff but I don’t think all women grow out of that. I know I haven’t grown out of some of those feelings, I hope I never do, and I’ve raised two kids already.

I almost feel for Mama Tong because it is hard to raise your daughter whom you are close to only to watch her leave you. As a parent I understand, it is heart-wrenching. At least Mama Tong has Papa Tong and isn’t all alone.

Mama Tong is still a bitch. I said I almost feel for her.

I really hope I don’t grow out of my fangirl spazz and squee on drama romances! Dramas are my sweet escape of reality when it gets really though. I hope I don’t ever grow tired of watching them.

Nian Nian said that Mama Tong had her when she was 36; she’s her one and only child. Nian Nian might be considered a miracle baby too. Now I’m not a mother myself, but I’ve been hearing the same thing from all my friends and colleagues who are parents that kids grow up fast you don’t even notice it sometimes. She’ll come around eventually, but yes, it’s really hard to like her.

She was so harsh towards Gun, but she did realize that. I mean she wasnt taking it back and meant it but did have some realization of what it sounded like.
One thing I like that came from her is some of Gun’s self reflection. He was purposefully being an ass at that dinner and it came back to bite him.
I loved Tong Nian’s dad in this scene. He us like she is an adult and one we raised to make good decisions for herself.

    2
    1

It certainly did come back to bite him in the ass. This is a prime example of why first impressions are important.

You know when dramas show a parent telling their child’s significant other “I don’t like you” rudely followed by a list of things why and ends with “don’t see my child anymore”? Just once, I wish the offended party would tell their parent what happened and they in turn would cuss the other parent smooth out. I know I would. The only drama I’ve seen this happen is Five Children. Mi Jung’s grandmother was not going for it. I love my child just as much as you love yours. Don’t start none, won’t be none.

Tldr: Nian’s mom is a BITCH. You can’t convince me otherwise.

Okay, so the mystery of Nian’s half-ponytail half down elementary hairstyle is solved. She looks older with it down.

Just read a comment on another site saying the 68 hr work week was why couples in S.Korea don’t have sex. They’re too tired. Uhhhh…

Ep 31 Go Go Squid subs are coming slowly (more like medium fast)but surely. I am only impatient because I want to know what Nian’s parents were talking about in the last part.

Yea, if you’re watching on Viki, the subs are slow for a reason T.T It’s a stupid glitch in their system that has stopped allowing QCs (“Qualified Contributors”, which include subbers) to have full accress to Viki’s full inventory of dramas– i.e. QCs are not immune to regional drama restrictions– which has caused a hindrance in QCs gaining access to dramas to do the subs.
I know moderators are going around and trying to do something about this issue, but ultimately, it’s up to Viki itself to allow access again, so there really isn’t anything we can do except to be understanding and patiently wait for subs =)

It’s a 40 episode Cdrama, they like to stretch it out for added torture.

That is always a bit of a let down for me when everyone squees and then I just dont end up liking it.

Does anyone know why there weren’t any Investigation Couple episodes today?

All the subbers are too busy watching HdL ?

…or, Asianwiki would have us believe

“Due to airing of Gwangju 2019 World Aquatics Championships, ep. 29 & 30 will not air Monday, July 22, 2019 as originally scheduled and instead air Tuesday, July 23, 2019. The final two episodes, ep.31 & ep.32, will then air the following week on Monday, July 29, 2019.”

I watched all the eps that have run. I did not really like it. All the leads are charisma vacuums. Characters that should be on way are not.

I really like Choi Jin Hyuk. Honestly, the description didn’t really do anything for me.

It’s crazy how Tami’s only real friend is Hyun. Ga Kyung and Da In turned on her with a quickness.

4
4

Da In didn’t lie though and that is the rub. If she thought Ta mi and Morgan where the real deal, I don’t think it would have went down like that.

    2
    2

Doesn’t matter what she thought, she was only privy to what Tami was telling her and she wasn’t telling her everything. However, telling Tami what she thought was the truth doesn’t matter, her first question should have been “Why didn’t you tell me as soon as you found out?” Ta Mi was doubting if she should give them a chance since they both wanted the same things in life but more importantly because she cared for them and was willing to put their happiness above theirs. Da In only saw that Ta Mi was always stepping back while not fully understanding her reasons, she put her own feelings before her new friendship and Morgan’s feelings. I think I could understand Da In feelings more if she and Morgan had had a romantic relationship at one point but she is going totally off of her own feelings.

I can understand where Ta Mi is coming from. Her and Morgan remind me of Demi and Ashton. It was all good until he realized he in fact did want children. They broke-up and he immediately got with someone who would give him what he wanted.

      4
      1

But she only once saw them together, and that was when they were arguing! If she’s spent more time with them, and then made that decision, I might have felt different. Now I thought she was majorly overstepping, by not asking Ta Mi. It seemed to me that girl was justifying her own feelings & actions rather than considering theirs.

Yup! Not sure what’s going on with Viki but they’ve been much slower lately. I hope everybody over there is ok and not crashing because of overwork and crazy amounts of pressure.
