Beanie level: Water maid

I’ve been so out of touch w the drama world for the week because am overseas heh :””-) also my plan to watch shows on the flight failed because apparently this airline that I took bans all usage of phones rip not even on flight mode when plane is cruising

here is a cut of yoo seung-ho from his new drama because daMn son :”””-) so excited to see him and chae soo-bin together heheh he is prob one of my fave actors tbh

I\’m going overseas this week (yay I\’m ready for winter weather!!) and I have 8h plane flights :\”\”\”-) tbh don\’t have a particular drama in mind I want to watch on the flights to and back, so any recommendations? :^) prefably a recent (\’16/\’17) drama woo 😌😌

*stays far far away from the beanies\’ fan wall today because because it\’s my first life just ended and spoilers are rife LOL i still want to watch it… eventually*

my heart is 10/10 empty after finishing lookout. how dare you show. you toy with my feelings. 🙁

*lowkey wants to rewatch the hostage scene because that\’s arguably one of my favourite scenes. wants to see jang do-han drive a car in reverse again*

*still gives the drama a 10/10 anyway because the characters were amazing and well-written and complex*

as much as i complain about the ending the drama was so well done and written and is probably one of my top 5 dramas of the year. it was emotional & tense & heartbreaking & sweet & poignant all at the same time.

Agree with everything. I liked the ending too. I’m glad you liked it too. Maybe the only thing I regret is that we didn’t get a confirmation that Shiwan died. That monster doesn’t have any right to live. But I like everything else. All the ambiguity and things hinted at or left unsaid.

    1

Actually to be very honest I was hoping that shi-wan didn’t die. Him dying (from pushing do-han off the building) would have been too easy an escape from all the crimes he committed. If he died he would have succeeded in running away from his crimes again uGH. I wish he survived so he could pay for his mistakes, stand trial & spend his life in jail (with his father).

It is just that I don’t trust the justice system for this. I’m afraid of money and a good lawyer!

I take it Do Han didn’t show mercy on your poor heart?

      Not really ;-;
*tries to watch something else to not think about the ending or other potential endings that could have happened*

Now you see why I wanted to make so many morbid jokes…. kekeke.
Do Han is easily one of my favourite characters this year, if not ever.

what in actual freak WHAT DO YOU MEAN. HEY. THAT\’S NOT VERY NICE.
1. what do you mean do-han never got to hear soo-ji forgive him. i understand he was going to die, and i expected him to die. i knew he would have to die to redeem himself. but those words that soo-ji said, what do you mean do-han never got to hear them??? \”i hated you to death. but i also thank you just as much.\” uh, does that mean she thanks do-han to death too? my heart. soo-ji will never forgive do-han over his role in her daughter\’s death and do-han knows that too, but yet in a way she has also come past that and she understands and treasures him.

the understanding and (non-romantic) love she feels for do-han doesn\’t negate the hate she feels towards him over yoo-na\’s death, but they co-exist, and i wish that soo-ji got to tell do-han that, because that would be the most beautiful and satisfying way for soo-ji to allow do-han to redeem himself. that sentence holds forgiveness and understanding as it does not at the same time, aND HOW DARE YOU SHOW. REALLY. do-han\’s character arc is not complete without him hearing those words from soo-ji and you just killed him off without two of them speaking to each other one last time? UNACCEPTABLE.

2. secondly, HOW DARE YOU TIME JUMP ME, SHOW. how dare you. i have 938294782019480 unanswered questions, ranging from whether yoon shi-wan survived (he better have survived and is now rotting his life away in a jail cell) to whether or not soo-ji, bo-mi and kyung-soo are still fugitives. ANSWER MY QUESTIONS. to be honest, with the extent of their illegal actions, i don\’t think they\’re going to only get 1 year in prison. hey, attempted murder is still attempted murder, even if it\’s directed at a murderer.

3. how did eun-joong and do-han not end up working together? that flashback scene was not enough, show. how dare you tease me with how wonderful their partnership would have been like if eun-joong\’s plan of \”working together\” did not involve him confessing on behalf of do-han. you hurt my feelings show. if you were not going to make their partnership happen, how dare you make do-han call eun-joong hyung in eun-joong\’s imagination? you\’re out to hurt me 🙁

\”what if we end up growing on each other?\” and maybe both the soo-ji and do-han of that time wouldn\’t have even expected that statement to hold true, but somehow it did.
however show, you still broke my heart over and over again. somehow i cared for a group of vigilantes who were similarly and yet differently broken, and somehow the group of vigilantes ended up caring for each other (more than they would admit anyways).

In You Are All Surrounded a couple lost their child in an accident. The mom blamed the dad for not having been there sooner. She filed for a divorce very soon after because she couldn’t bear look at his husband’s face any more.

So, although I loved Dohan and Suji’s relationship but I’m sure that there would never ever be any romance or even a simply easy and happy comradeship between them.

I even think that his death was what softened her towards him.

And I don’t think Dohan would have ever forgiven himself to be able to live normally with the two burdens he felt on his shoulders. His guilt towards his brother and his guilt towards Suji.

Not just for Do Han, but for her own sake it would’ve been good to see her forgive him. Forgiving doesn’t have to mean forgetting.

I’m also really annoyed at the time jump, the ending didn’t make much sense. Personally, from very early on I expected Do Han to end up in prison, content with having made the bad guys pay for their crimes and with now having to pay for his own and having to live with the guilt of the wrong he’d done. And probably a semi-long prison sentence for Soo Ji considering she’s a cop yet freaking waved a gun in a kid’s face AT A SCHOOL FULL OF INNOCENT KIDS. And a mild not-necessarily-prison sentence for the two kiddos since they did do a lot of illegal hacking. Maybe pay off their crimes by going whitehat for the government or something lol.
That would’ve been much more realistic, satisfying and in keep with the tone of the show imo. But hey, I’m not the writer and I probably couldn’t write a complex and heartbreaking character like Do Han, so whaddoIknow 😛

SAME as much as I am lowkey tilted at the ending for leaving so many open holes (are they still working illegally???) I still really love the entire drama because the plot + characters were really well written and actually developed

      1
      1

It’s definitely one of my favorites of the year. Well developed characters are so incredibly rare, so for that alone it deserves a standing ovation lol ^^

    OH YOU FINISHED IT!!!
IT’S OK, I FEEL ALL YOUR PAIN!!!
(do you mind if I just send you this? https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fj95kVTKy0RJHG1PewM7DIeRKtR51d3Hpa8QukR80Bw/edit honestly, I’ve said it all in there, how I’d like it to have ended…)
BUT YES, THE FORGIVENESS THING WAS MY MAIN ISSUE TOO.

    1
    1

AHHH I just read it and yes you put everything so beautifully and nicely :”””””””-) the characters really did the drama for me; I think I overlooked all the plot holes because I felt compelled to believe that it was logical due to the characters and the actors’ performances

IDK I hardly feel so much pain for dramas mainly because I’m q unemotional too (LOL) but this drama really broke my heart in so many ways 🙁 I didn’t cry (I might have if they had given me the ending I wanted – I think my emotions were drained out of me during the frustrating last 20 minutes rip) but it hit all the right places for me and sIGh.

*hi5* *another person here who doesn’t feel a lot of pain for dramas* *can’t even remember the last time a show made me cry lol*
But yeah, it’s really heartbreaking yet would’ve been even more so had the characters been given different endings.

        1
        0

Yay- thank you for giving it a read!!!
Yes, I will remember it for it’s characters and not for it’s plot hahaha 😛

*let’s make a club of people who almost never cry in dramas*
I mean the only reason this one made me cry is because AFTERwards I thought of the ending I did want… hahaha woops.

hi i would like to say I\’m finally at the last 4 eps of Lookout (which is the last week of broadcast if I was live watching it) and I\’ve filled over 15 pages of notes over the past 8 eps and im not ready for shit to really go down (i trust the arrest of yoon seung-ro can\’t be the end of him LOL) & for the show to end yiKES

also here to say that do-han & su-ji have amazing chemistry and i think it\’s made even better by the fact that it\’s not a romantic relationship

15 pages hahahahaha oh boy I know that feeling… *no really* *I wrote 5000 words when I finished it*
*I’m not sure I AM actually read for you to finish this* *because I don’t know if YOU’RE ready…* 😉

      Lowkey scared for the ending ;-;
screw that I meant highkey scared this show is so unpredictable yikes and as of now I don’t think there can even be a happy ending to the entire show (I mean they really did tons of illegal shit and all of them spending jail time doesn’t sound like a happy ending to me LOL)

      will update when I’m done if my heart is still intact after watching the last 4 eps ;-;

LOOKOUT EP 17-18 //

1. yes eun-joong find out about do-han he needs someone to help him not get found out in the office :\”)

2. bo-mi and kyung-soo are too cute why are they so cute i love seeing kyung-soo not knowing how to act around bo-mi now when he can now talk to her face-to-face

3. jang do-han you\’re playing a very dangerous game. tbh it\’s quite impressive seeing him pit lawyer oh and chief prosecutor yoon against each other by manipulating their relationship and stirring shit in general but i\’m increasingly worried for his own cover now because i\’m afraid it\’s going to backfire on him one day. yIKES

4. do-han\’s scene with his father broke my heart

5. istg the whole do-han kwan-woo thing messed with my head

6. do-han needs to realise with soo-ji the lookout team will no longer blindly follow his orders and maybe it\’s time they actually start working together :\”-) also the ending scene when they baited the priest and do-han (do i even call him do-han now wtfreak) to the church was 10/10

slightly more than halfway there :\”-) maybe it\’s me but i\’m 1984949100x attached to the squad and they better don\’t pull shit on me rip

LOOKOUT EP 15-16 // *ships everyone with everyone because why not* all of them need more love in their life LMAO

10
2

LOOKOUT EP 15-16 // is it enough to yell at the characters to stay safe??? do-han is increasingly showing his true self and it’s quite funny how that gets me more worried. chief prosecutor yoon is getting more and more suspicious of him so can do-han please reveal himself asap so there’s soo-ji to save his ass when needed in the future? :””””)

tbh would have wanted soo-ji to catch do-han unaware and return his hankerchief but her confrontation with the priest and disarming his planned lies was really very well done and shot :~)

also eun-joong is finally finding out more things about do-han! is it too much to ask for a bromance between these two because this pair can be really powerful if they work together, with eun-joong being the one who abides strictly to morals and do-han being the one who is willing to play dirty.

(add: thank you beanies for helping a noob here to figure out how to post more than 200 characters i feel like my life has been changed ;-;)

Make sure to right click and paste it into the box. Using ctrl + v doesn’t work! 🙂

When you copy and paste it, it must be done in a certain way:
You must first highlight your text from Microsoft Word, right click Copy, then on your Beanie Wall, right click Paste… It doesn’t work if you do it with your keyboard and press CTRL+C & CTRL+V
