Honestly, hyung is fast becoming a favorite of mine ~ and this scene is one of the reasons (also when he beat down the guards and then walked away with a wave)
I wasn’t surprised. I imagine Lee Seong Gye to require all his sons to be good at that. I was surprised he had that swag in him, but that was brief. He was back in character in the next minute. 😂
I was thinking that his silliness is like his survival method ~ he’d rather be underestimated and not be a target, even as he covets power himself. I don’t know if that makes sense, but the brief glimpse of a powerful man eclipsed by being born into a too powerful was fascinating to me (yes, comments like these are why my family says I read too much into shows 🤦🏻♀️)
It makes sense to me! He reminds me of a chubbier and less handsome version of the Scarlet Pimpernel, mainly in the way he hides his true intentions by acting all flippant and silly. I still haven’t watched Ep. 12, but I was impressed to find out in Ep. 11 that hyung is the one behind Bad Wig Dude – which means he’s the one who sabotaged Bang Won’s arsenal before and filled it with junk swords.

This is my reaction whenever characters swear blood oaths too. 😂

He was even more amusing in this episode. I have a friend just like him.

I laughed hard when he said he’d call Bang Won hyungnim.

Who knew silly hyung had such good swordsmanship? I like him too. His mischievous character is a nice contrast to serious Bang Won.
