Beanie level: Jang Geu-rae

Liu Yi Fei is not only a star, or a even a superstar where I hail from, but a mega mega mega humongous superstar, so it feels rather odd to see comments in the western fandom praising her casting like she was an unknown. I am estatic at the casting and positive response, but it’s like seeing people say “OMG XX movie has found its new star. An American actor has been casted. HIs name is Brad Pitt and did you see how handsome he is?”

Finishing off this impromptu walk down memory lane with a soundtrack which will make me tear up every time I listen to it. My favorite all-countries drama of 2017 by a mile.

One of my first memories of Liu Tao. I can’t believe people debated in Nirvana Viki comments if she was beautiful. There can be no accounting for taste but I can only laugh.

Did they really say that? Heol. I preferred her over Liu Yi Fei in that drama, and that’s saying something. She has an elegant and ageless classic beauty about her.

Speaking of Nirvana soundtrack, what a talented cast.

This song is so epic no matter how many times I listen to it. I love Hu Ge’s soundtracks from Chinese Paladin, Young Warriors of Yang Clan and Fairies of Wonderland, but this song is in another level.

Or we can just have Hu Ge and Wallace…. lol. Bai Tofu forever.

A young Hu Ge would have made a perfect Linghu Chong, and Jiang Xin a perfect Ren Ying Ying, though Wallace and Joe Chen, or Zanilia would have been good too.

I’ve yet to find a fully satisfying adaptation of the legendary Xiao Ao Jiang Hu, which is a shame, because it’s my favorite novel ever written.

The Journey of Flower was extremely flawed in execution, but I will cry my heart and eyes out 100% of the times I rewatch the last episode no matter how many times and that in itself is impressive.

One of the rare cases where I don’t get sick of watching a tragic love scene but love it. Her curse, his regret, their mutual but incompatible love. Sobs.

I give 100% credit to their acting for this effect on me 😛

His regret hit me hard the first time I watched it, and it hits me just as hard even after every re-watch T.T His regret (and kudos to Wallace Huo’s brilliant acting out of it) is what makes this scene for me <3

What will always hit me the hardest is her line “I have never regretted anything in my life, but if I was to do it one more time, I wouldn’t have fallen in love with you.”
Knowing how much she loves him, her line is even more heart-breaking. You can just tell how much in pain she was until her last dying moment. I don’t care what anyone says about the ending, I’m glad they added the happy part.

I think that when she said that, in that moment, that’s when his regret started to sink in T.T

@bebeswtz Also the horror on his face when she cured him of his suicide attempt. It was even worse than when he kissed her on the bed.

Help. After finishing 10 Miles of Peach Blossom, I\’m in no mood to watch anything else. SO EPIC, SO MUCH HEART. BEAUTIFUL. Considering watching Nirvana on Fire again. I need another outstanding drama.

I admit I went into watching 10 Miles of Peach Blossom skeptical of the hype, but for once, it deserves it. I’m no longer surprised it holds the record for most online views of all time. And I’m thanking drama gods for the fact that I changed my mind at the last minute and tried the drama before the movie, or I would have never given the drama a chance if I tried the movie first. It had none of the heart.

If you are looking for historical C-drama, I enjoyed General and I. There are definitely some cringe-inducing cheesy romantic scenes, but the story does feel epic. The cinematography is beautiful and is the costume. Wallace Chung is quite stoically sexy!

RIGHT?! ahh I’m not sure how something can be so awesome. I live watched it and the waiting was BRUTAL. I LOVED every episode. The BTS are really cute too.
I’m watching The King’s Woman. Dilraba Dilmurat & Vin Zhang (from 10miles) are in it. It’s visually beautiful but 11 episodes in I really only care about their characters. Their scenes are pretty intense. Both of them are so expressive.
Sorry I don’t have another Cdrama suggestion 10 Miles of Peach Blossom was my first and…I was still recovering from how good it was before i started TKW.

ooOOo I’ll put Nirvana on Fire on my to watch list.

Better quality. That drama was full of beauties. I wished they had shown the other girls in the opening too, not just the main three especially Jiang Xin. Fauxcest galore, but the best kind. lol.

I love Liu Yi Fei especially after seeing her in Chinese Paladin and Condor Heroes.

Still one of the most epic opening sequences ever for a series.
I get STUNNED by Liu Yi Fei’s beauty EVERYTIME (@ 1:22)
This drama wasnt perfect, but it was pretty epic. The books are still the best.

I wished Dramabeans had the option for us to favorite old dramas even if they don\’t have recaps for it. I\’m thinking dramas like City Hall, Save The Last Dance for Me, New Heart, etc.
